    First time commenting but I love your videos. Thank you. Give IK+ and Fightin’ Spirit a look. Fighters done right on the Amiga!

      I've heard of IK+ but not Fightin' Spirit. I'll have to keep those in mind.

    Alien breed was so good. I can still remember playing the original Team 17 games on my Amiga500. I later upgraded to the Amiga1200. Such a powerful system. Then i started playing ProjectX. The rest of the games are new to me. Thank you for uploading. I learned a lot. Have a wonderful day!

    Great video, always really appreciate how much effort you put into each game. I really like Qwak, but playing it to beat it... nah. I gave up where you did with the lights out sections. Playing it with one continue and score chasing is a lot of fun.

    I am legit very impressed that you finished all these games. Alien Breed II is sooo hard. Project X and ATR is also hard. Good job!

      I'll have to stop you right there because I did not finished any of these game legitimately, if at all. I used cheats in the Alien Breed games, save states in the fighting and shooting games, and I certainly did not get to the end of games like ATR or Qwak.

    Although I think The Chaos Engine perfected the formula Alien Breed´s got I´m still fond of the -Breed games. I actually agree with you on most points, It never felt fair to run out of ammo, and running from the countdown was a feature they didn´t have to nick from Alien Syndrome (and the film). The difficulty is high enough anyway, and not welcome to newcomers.
    And yes, the first level of Alien Breed 2 is merciless! Getting inside with the aliens shouldn´t feel like a relief, but it does! I recall reading about the security system "malfunctioning", so just go with it ;) It just malfunctions in all the ways it can make your life harder, not recognizing aliens and having VERY low flying helicopters home in on you!
    Still, the gameplay in these titles is just so tense. I know I´m not going to make it out alive, but it´s exciting trying to survive anyway. The atmosphere is superb with well designed background noise and sound effects, and the graphics are very good in all 3 games. And of course, having lost the battle alongside a childhood friend several times of course gives me severe nostalgia. I too wish the difficulty was balanced in a more gentle way, but I like these!
    Body Blows though. Apart from what you already mentioned, I think the animation is jerky and hard to follow, and the voice samples are ridiculous. For me this is a perfect so bad it´s good game.

    Alas, you did not mention the unlockable _Worms: the Director's Cut_ -a significant part of the dollar value of the cart.

      @CrowContinuum  5 месяцев назад

      Yeah, I haven't been mentioning any of the unlockables. If I ever get caught up on the collections I'm behind on, I'd start to make videos on those.

    There is a good fighting game - Shadow Fighter - and a great one - Fighting Spirit. There's also an interesting one - Capital Punishment.

    Good stuff Crow, might be worth checking out the Alien Breed remakes that came out a few years ago on XBLA and PS3.

      I kept seeing those remakes popping up when I was looking up these original games. I may have to look into them more. I think they are on Steam as well.

    International Karate + is a great game. Number of buttons on the Amiga is definitely a limit to how far they went though.

    • @CrowContinuum
      @CrowContinuum  7 месяцев назад

      Although I've never played it, I have heard of International Karate+ and it does have a positive reputation, but isn't it on other platforms as well.. like isn't it on the C64 too for example.

      @@CrowContinuum yes I think it was ported to lots of platforms but the Amiga version was probably the best and had a funky soundtrack.

    Hey Crow Bro. Off topic but I wanted to share and axe u if u did ismilar ever. I setup poirtrait tv with a no lag screen 42 inch, i use X arcade with the 2 buttons on the side minimcs arcade buttons, and the next part is the cool part, I got these PETALS, they are oncsidewred to be keyboard buttons, 2 petals for feet. SO I map the shake right and shake left pinball to the petals by my feet. Very nice, I can shake it without having to move my hands around as the x arcade has no buttons near the fliper buttons. Feels really nice and awesome. The TV stand swioivels too for landscape mode as well up to 50 inch, so perfect for all pc gaming and shmups and pins.

    • @CrowContinuum
      @CrowContinuum  7 месяцев назад

      Shaking the table with my feet would throw me off sooo much I think. On the controller I built I placed low profile buttons in front of the buttons I use for flippers so when I want to nudge I slap the side with the palm of my hand and that works very well for me.

    I missed the Crow Plays.

    • @CrowContinuum
      @CrowContinuum  7 месяцев назад

      I may not have been calling them "Crow Plays", but I have been making those types of videos. The recent Star Trek: TNG, Samurai's Vengeance, and Mysterious Island have all been Pinball FX videos are pretty much Crow Plays, but also the videos of Peglin and The Spectre Files were recent "Crow Plays" videos as well. There also a video for "Luck Be A Landord" scheduled and I've got two more Pinball FX videos currently in editing

    Anyone knows which arcade stick is best for Evercade?

    • @CrowContinuum
      @CrowContinuum  7 месяцев назад

      There's will always be varying options on this, but I'm perfectly happy using the Mayflash F500, but just about any arcade stick meant for PC, Xbox, or Playstation will work with it.

  • @VEGANVANIA

    This is what the Amiga was notorious for: graphics that looked impressive in a magazine screenshot, but (99% of the time) gameplay far worse than the NES.

    • @bigbabatunde1218
      @bigbabatunde1218 5 месяцев назад +1

      The NES was a great system for the time or any other. The Amiga was pants as a lot of Amiga games couldn't even run music and sound fx at the same time. Which was just inexcusable for the 1990s.
