Ive got S24U and very very happy with it. Its the first phone that has not shown any signs of slowing. No means of changing phones for a while and the OneUi 8.5 should be another fantastic update performance wise.
Yeah as long as you're not gaming on your phone which messes it up IDC what anybody says the S24U is gonna be good for at least another 4 years before it starts to slow down on average everyday phone stuff that is. I have the S22U & S25 promise you had my S22U ran as well as it does right now I'd still be using it another year.
After their batteries exploded a few years ago, they're really apprehensive with new battery tech. As far as I know, the S26 Ultra will have a similarly "weak" battery. On the other hand, it forces them to innovate on efficiency.
You can set the "shutter" speed for quality or speed and performance, i don't mind the speed, u can hold the button to take many pictures, but i preferred using 1 take mode that has been taken off the modes list
I love my S25U I've had it since launch and I'm not even thinking about another Samsung until at least the S29U. My S25U is absolutely beautiful & super fast not a lag or stutter to be found. I'm very happy I'll just change the battery in another year and all will be new again.

I will upgrade to a new Ultra in 2027, when my S22 Ultra stops getting security updates. No need to upgrade before then. On a separate note, I finally decided to try out Dex a few weeks ago. Got a monitor off Marketplace for $6, paired with a bluetooth keyboard and I am impressed. Made me wish I had tried out Dex years ago, don't think I will be able to have another phone without this type of desktop feature.
I was just leaving this comment feeling the same way if my s22U was running as well as it is right now id be waiting until the s27u myself. I got pretty damn upset with Samsung for not putting out an upgrade sooner while my phone was so stuttey as lagging I purchased the s25U only to have oneui7 fix all the problem I was having for the last 6 months before I upgraded.
having a flush back panel with just the rings is peak Samsung design, notl regrets spending £1,317 on my 1tb jetblack model, the new s26 ultra loos horrble, but i have the black 512gb oneplus 13 and OnePlus 15 also, which also look incredible.
When the note 9 got one ui 2 turned it into one the best phones ever, since then its just getting better, one ui 8.5 i awesome on s25 ultra.. Touchwiz on the note 4 was awful.. No need to root anymore, haven't rooted since note 4
The shutter speed is in the settings lol also there's an app called Camera Assist which unlocks a few more settings.. For anyone who has a 25 ultra, you know what app I'm talking about.. I'm also running the beta ui8.5 and I'm loving it so far.. Waiting for the new s pen to drop so I can utilize the bluetooth with it like the previous ultra devices
I think it's going to be some time before the chip in the S25 Ultra is going to be challenged regularly by software or apps. Current snapdragon chips are so much more powerful than most of us need. I think this phone is still very relevant approaching the release of the S26 lineup.
I couldn't agree more, I promise you my S25U hasn't slowed down at all. I'll be keeping this for another 4 full years before I even think about upgrading. If my S22U was running as well as it does today I'd still be using it happily.

The software and screen are industry leading. The s24 ultra was the best phone of 2024...this is better than the s24 ultra yet everyone is saying it's bad. I don't get it. The camera is a bit behind the competition, especially the front camera but I still think it's a great phone overall.
Neither OP nor comments said anything about how the bump on the s25 ultra camera exposes it to scratches, an annoying issue I didn't previously experience on my old s21 ultra. Also, the funny noise the camera makes sometimes when you zoom? Nobody else experienced this?
How are the speakers? I use my phones speakers all the time and I think my iPhone 16 pro has the best speakers on a phone ever. Especially with the Dolby atmos.
The s25 ultra is my very first premium and flagship phone cause I usually buy those budget phones like the A series so I sometimes think I should have switched to an IPhone but I'm so used to Samsung and their UI and stuff I just couldn't do it lol.
Good for you you got 8.5 I have the Galaxy Fold 7 and it's still only 8.0 They have what would be called the flagship phone and they don't have the update from Samsung yet
Samsung has not yet officially released a stable version of One UI 8.5, but it is currently in public beta testing for the Galaxy S25 series. As usual they will start public release when they release S26 series which I think will be in Feb 26.
Battery is great, charging to 90% and not putting on the charger until its around 10-15%, charging from there to 60% takes maybe 20 minutes if ur not on it and have a fully capable charger & cable.. most people don't have the right charger or cable or both to take advantage of super fast charging 2.0 (45 watt wired) and 15 watt wireless
I also think that smartphone manufacturers should release flagship phone every other year so that the 2nd year of every phone release should focus on software improvement alone

Unlike most people, I do like the camera rings but I want the Ultra specs on a Plus design and approx. weight.

If they can add the landscape camera mode to the 26 ultra that would be enough to upgrade

Just got mine just before the new year for $500. Rocking it alongside my Z Fold 7. I think I'll still with them for about 4 years and then upgrade.
