A grown adult should not be privately messaging a minor outside of like, actual family. Period. The second you learn that the person you're messaging is a minor, you shut that down instantly. If those messages were in fact inappropriate (he said they were), then he's cooked. The man would have been in his late 30s at the time, and should have known better.
It is important to know if he KNEW the person was a minor. I also think it would be important to know the degree at which the DM's were innaproppriate.
@@carljcmjk8609 Yes, I see that. And when I say this realize I no longer support doc at all. What I want to know is if he knew she was a minor when he was in the act of messaging them or when it was taken to court.
It sounds like you're placing all the blame on the child and not holding the 40-year-old man (or late 30s man at the time) accountable. A minor is a minor; it's as simple as that.
I have a question, how can a private messaging service, supposed to be encrypted, be read? How can you trust twitch now? What other dodgy things are they doing? What else are they covering up
So its okay for twitch to allow kids on their platform but you cannot talk to them? A bit wierd but then so is an adult engaging with a minor. Without know what was said then we have to take their word for it.

it makes sense twitch wouldn't want it to be public since it's a failing on their part allowing minors in their 18+ whisper system, even if there isn't really much they can do to prevent it. and any legal thing involving a minor has most of the details redacted anyways.

As far as we know this could still be a similar situation to the Chugga controversy which ended up not being what the claims made against him were. There is many cases of young girls actively trying to solicit older men and do so sneakily at first. Once shut down, they go into full metoo mode and make accusations that the guy they were sending solicitations to were in fact the ones doing it to them un-prompted. Doesn't mean that is how it always happens, but it isn't something that doesn't either. Considering how the former is only treated as slander if found true and the later treated as criminal charges if true, usually when these types of allegations occur if it ends up real there tends to be charges pretty soon afterward. Considering there were none years after, I am more inclined to think there wasn't anything criminal.
The fact that there wasn't anything criminal meaning physical contact or pictures DOESN'T change the fact that having inappropriate conversations with MINORS is WRONG! 🤡
You guys jumping to conclusions are ridiculous. Do you really think Twitch, or any other company, would cover anybody's ass and not engage in a criminal case against a pedo, with the risk to sink the whole company? I'm not defending the Doc or Twitch, it's pure legal stuff there.
