We’ve had backyard gardens off and on for a very long time, and we had been wanting a raised bed garden. We were in the process of saving up for it when a longtime viewer asked if they could sponsor a video. This seemed a logical choice, and so we jumped in and did it right away. It was definitely a fun build!
Thanks to Eddie Kortes for making this build possible! Check out their website in case you are in the market for any of their hand made products!

You could use a water based wood preservative that is made out of beeswax. It's what I use on my hives and if it's safe for bees it's safe for us. Just a thought.

That is an excellent idea for those who have bees.
I would sure like to lean about bees and have hives. I don't know what happened, but somehow, as I have gotten older, I've become allergic to bees and yellow jackets, which they have gotten me a nice ride in an ambulance.
      Anyway, once again, excellent idea.

Fun fact - the white zip ties you used to hold the wire fencing together are not rated for outdoor use and will break fairly easily after some weather and sun wear. Black zip ties are rated for sunlight and outdoor use and will hold up much longer.

A little tip. You might want to turn those cut ends of the zip ties inward or shave them smooth with a razor blade. I use a lot of zip ties, and they can be as sharp as steel. Great job!

O my goodness. I. Am. In. Love❤️. Of the literally hundreds of tutorial(s) vids, pics etc. that I've seen & have really liked, this set up reigns supreme. In fact, I can't even remember how my fave 1's even looked.🤫 Excellent ideas & even the fam got involved.
I cannot wait....til I see my husband later today & can nag him relentlessly into submission to build it.😁
Although your yard is considerably larger than mine, it's also less yard than I see in so many other vids. It's encouraging & motivational. It's quite an awesome set up, guys. Nice!

You could use Siberian larch. It's a softwood like Douglas fir, but it only grows 3-4 months a year before freezing so the rings are super tight and it lasts so long. Our woodshop makes screen doors out of them and after 10 years I've yet to see one even sag.

    First, this looks GREAT.
One word about pressure treated wood. It's perfectly safe for raised bed. This is an old notion that goes back to when arsenic was used in the process of pressure treating lumber, which ended around 2000.
So it's fine to use pressure treated wood and every gardener who's actually done the research says the same thing. So, if you're uncomfortable because you're unsure, then check to see how it's made in the US or US standards, and you can also check where the lumber comes from because I wouldn't want any wood from China that's pressure treated because they tend to ignore US regulation to undercut other companies prices.

It's great that your daughter has been working with saws and whatnot for a long time and cut "thousands and thousands" of boards but as a maintenance manager for the past 2 decades leading skilled technicians with many times my years experience i can tell you with a great certainty that it only takes one moment for an accident to happen and proper ppe and safe practice is an important extra check stop for preventing accidents.
I had a tech that lost two fingers (not while on my crew, i found him that way lol) and he told me one day that those two fingers cost him about "3 minutes saved" each
It doesn't matter how long or how many times you've done something, if you've been doing it wrong the whole time you're just building bad habits.
Either way, thanks for the detailed videos on your projects and i hope you never need to worry about any of the other stuff i just said :)

Fantastic Build. The design is so well done, and the craftsmanship is perfect. I've been a subscriber but somehow missed this one. I wanted to comment early on about making the middle beds wider because you could get to it from either side. You beat me to it.
I don't think there's anything you could add to it to make it any better. Maybe a soft hoop house cover or something similar for the cold months. Then you have veggies all year round.
Maybe you could do something similar in another video.

One little tip that I did with my raised garden: I left each post on the inside and outside about 2" taller than the rail. I then purchased copper post caps and used gorilla clear landscaping glue to attach them to the tops of each post. On the outside, I bought the copper/solar led post caps that light up at night.
