    The Monchique mountains are beautiful. I remember years back my wife and I rented a car and we went through the mountains up to St. Clara a Velha to see the dam. Then west to the coast and down to Aljezur and all the way to Capo sao Vincente (end of World). A coffee stop in Sagres and then back to Portimao. I could settle down in Algarve for sure😄

    Riding a slow bike fast, is amazing, riding a slow bike off road where it isn’t supposed to be is even more entertaining with the situations you can get into. I drug a tw200 all over Tacoma Washington following my buddies jacked up jeep. We camped ontop of mountains while we were stationed at jblm. Good times…

      @@RocketMan_Moto if its as cheap and fun as everyone says it is, I'd probably never sell it and just slowly upgrade it. There's a high-way very close, but I rarely need to jump on it. Everything in the area by me is 60 mph or less. Once I get used to the area on the Grom, I might have to get a Z400 for the road and further jaunts. An updated/lightened cb500f or SV650 would be awesome to strive for. I want to take my time and work up the classes a bit.

    I was considering a secondhand one for local journeys.

    • @RocketMan_Moto
      @RocketMan_Moto  3 года назад +1

      Thanks :) The Monkey is ok around town, but the lack of a passenger seat meant that I could never take a passenger, even for very short trips. Also, the 4-speed gearbox made for very buzzy longer trips, although this has now been rectified on the 2022 model.

    Don't need a big bike to have fun, you'd see more and you wouldn't go too far up dirt roads. Lots of people explore on postie bikes Ct110, cubs etc, like on Chris Bamman channel. They're an Ozzy classic bike.

    I suspect a sense of speed comes to you on the Grom with little effort given its size and weight, especially on those two tracks. I see videos of off-roaders blasting along and wonder if they have any sense of natural wonder or is only about machinery. I feel like I'm on a magic carpet breezing along on my little scooter at 25-30 mph on a little country road. The atmosphere there must be redolent of eucalyptus oil. It'll be lavender and bay in Provence! Safe riding.

    • @RocketMan_Moto
      @RocketMan_Moto  3 года назад

      Thanks, Timothy. Yes, the Grom does give you the sensation of speed on the road, more so than our Honda Vision, in fact. It's way less practical than a scooter, but then again, I wouldn't fancy taking the Vision off road. I agree that blasting through nature on a proper off-road bike rather defeats the purpose - I tend to see the Grom as a pair of motorised hiking shoes. Ride safe :)
