To me, the most autobiographical line was: "My make-up may be flaking but my smile still stays on". That was true. No matter how ill Freddie felt, he never grumbled to anyone or sought sympathy of any kind. It was his battle, no one else's, and he always wore a brave face against the ever-increasing odds against him.[13]
- Jim Hutton - 1994
so many times concerts have been difficult but the fans wouldn't know
Live Aid has gone down as a legendary performance but his Dr told him not to do it
he later said it was like gargling with glass
he realised after their last tour 86 something serious was wrong beyond normal fatigue and muscle pain
he told the band he was in agony and he was fkg done with touring
the fans who came to see them would have no idea
he damaged his leg, found acompromise how to finish a few songs not to let the fans down then got medical help
so many examples and it's not just Jim saying he didn't complain or get angry and so on everyone has said it
One of the most beautiful songs ever written by Brian May with a few contributions from Freddie. I can’t tell you the amount of covers that have been done with this song & I’ve come to one conclusion …. Nobody should sing this song except Freddie!!! A dying man’s declaration that “the show must go on”. 👑💪💪
I completely agree… nobody should sing this song except Freddie😢
You are absolutely and completely right. This song should only be sang by Freddie 💛💛💛💛
I agree. Those that cover it are young...with a full clean healthy voice... not venturing to the end of their time...unlike Freddie. And he STILL had that amazing voice while dying. That's the difference.
If I can give an opinion I totally disagree that this historical anthem is only his.
I think that this song is written as a message from a music legend that everyone listened, to say something like a dying person to everyone else, maybe I'm too positive sometimes but I think we should all apply the message of this song to our lives when a problem paralyzes us. "Show must go on" no matter what happens, even if you're dying...
I won't stop singing it when I feel stuck, even if I sing it horrible.
If I can recommend Dimash's version for you all to listen to, it is one of the versions that I like the most and although it does not have the same meaning, it does convey emotions, which is what makes people move.
Thanks for your content.
Much encouragement and greetings from Spain.
@@DavidAlvarez-xl9yc Thank you for your comment .. when I listen to Freddie’s vocals I am reminded of his courage to “go on” and continue to make music! I have heard other artist’s renditions of The Show Must Go On .. but Freddie’s emotions are felt in his vocals!! Agree that the message is positive .. so I guess the song can mean many things to many different people! 🙏🏻 Thank you David for your insight! 🙏🏻
Quite a dark song. Freddie was an absolute warrior, carrying on making music almost to the end. Absolutely bloody amazing vocals.
It is almost unbelievable what freddie was capable of with his voice when he was already very ill. I am impressed every time by his strength, determination and perseverance. Please, listen to Freddie's last song the Mother Love.
How he carried on, even in severe pain while doing so, until he just physically couldn't, should earn anyone's respect! The man had true strength and character, unquestionably!
Freddie was a gift from god!!!
Freddie was too ill to do a Video at this point, so it's a compilation. The song is a masterpiece, no other word will do. It's by Brian, so doesn't directly Express Freddie's thoughts on his rate, but of course it took on that meaning.
They wrote pretty much all of it together
Bruan later polished it up and added butterfly wings did the demo
Finishing the mapping would be a lot of work
But they finished the first verse together and had the theme and lyrics for the rest of the song
As legendary as Bohemian Rhapsody. Timeless.
Queen members were all masters of their art, but Freddie was on another level for sure.
👍Yes. Freddie The King. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷👍
And to think Freddie was so ill by this time, and still reached those super high notes. So much emotion, so much will to live, never surrending, just living at the very best he could doing what he loved the most, play music, sing, and share it with us. Freddie was unique, a remarkable human being, a sparkling soul . Every day missed, never forgotten, forever loved as the person, the musician, the LEGEND 💛💛💛💛👑👑👑👑
So true Ana!! 👍 I think the same no words left to describe the emotion of feelings when freddie sang it just a legend un forgettable voice and ahuge personality beyond being perfect talent greatness in every show God music for me
Freddie Mercury is a fantastic man hands down on that & I’m still sad that he’s not here. The last video that he did was called “These are the days of our life”. You can see how sick he is 😢, but he was still working
Freddy's vocal rolling fills , killing the song . The absolute master!
A favorite song of mine, written by Freddie is A WINTER'S TALE, released after Freddie's passing.
One of my absolute favorites!
Yes... My favorite song is actually "Don't Try So Hard"
Just say it, I know you want to... THE best band of all time. It took me sometime, but the legacy Freddie and Queen left behind is unbelivable. They Will go down in history as the greatest. Of top 100 artists on Spotify for monthly listeners there is only TWO "classic artist/band". Queen and Michael Jackson. Queen is the #38th most streamed on Spotify every month with almost 38 million listeners. And Michael I think is around 25 million, dont remember excactly. If I go out of this and check I have to write it all again. But those Are the only once. No Beatles No Elvis. And all respect to them, but Queen is Queen and Will forever be the reigning monarch. In 100 years they Will talk and teach about Queen in school.
Freddie is the one and only no body will ever beat this man sometimes un human keep going more queen friend
Breakthru is ahhhhmmmmaaazzziiinnngggggg
Just thinking about when Freddie sang this song, these lyrics, his battle, it is a great message to all, facing many different circumstances. Freddie led the charge during a time when it was not necessarily popular to do and the tabloids were after him constantly. This band, tip top of my list and for many reasons. ❤️
A song, a testament of Freddie's life and career.
He really felt it
Thank you
Freddie Mercury the great pretender reaction
You could say Brian & Freddie were very much simpatico…
Brian has said he was expressing the band’s fears for their future as they braced for the coming loss of Freddie. & Freddie never once stopped wanting to sing.
The band really believed they were done. And for John, it was the end.
You noticed the high note at "on with the show." Something like the holy grale for tenors is to reach the "high c". Freddie matched the "d" at this point quite effortless, being so ill that he had to sit during the recording. Isn't he just an impossible guy?
Great reaction, thanks. I just saw a recent interview with Brian where he stated that he wrote this song with Freddie. Yes, the idea for the song was Brian's but he made Freddie help him write it. Normally, they didn't talk about the meaning behind their songs as a sort of unwritten rule but with this song, he said he and Freddie discussed the meaning behind every word. I gathered it was a way for them to talk about the future of Queen without talking about the stark reality of what was happening. Did anyone else watch that interview? It was a recent one but I can't remember if the initial purpose was for his book release or for celebrating Queen's 50 years. He actually did several recent interviews.
I just watched it also, so I checked my history. The documentary is Queen - The Nation's Favourite Queen Song. The Show Must Go On is #15. It's right about at the fourteen minute mark. Brian talks about sitting down with Freddie to hammer out some of the lyrics. ruclips.net/video/MvIDQRqIETI/видео.html
Queen is great 👍 Freddie is miss very talented , forever love 💕💚🖤🧡🤎💙
Freddie did this song on only one take. What you hear on the album is the only take.
Best male singer of our time, and easily one of the very best ever.
He went out on his terms and left gifts that keep giving, almost 30 years later. Definitely a shooting star.
Beautiful inspirational song, with a touch of deep sadness. Freddie's voice just soars here. Great reaction.
I love your channel, I am so addicted to Queen, Freddie was and still is unmatched, There are so many great songs from this band, If you want passion “In My Defense” “Made in Heaven” “Heaven for Everyone” “My Melancholy Blues”. “ You Take My Breath Away” (Studio Version) These are just a few his voice was truly angelic, Freddie was a feeling, you felt the song, I’ve never had feeling with any other singer. He still rules the music world in 2021. RIP Freddie so sadly missed.
Honestly, I can completely understand where you are coming from. You know there is comfort when you have a great singer like Freddie to listen to. He goes there and you feel the exact feeling. People who don’t listen to music for the experience would never understand. But, I’m so down to react to every single Queen song there is !!! I would definitely do it! Queen is the band I never thought I needed. So completed. 🙌🏿💯😊
Freddie was amazing! Thank you for your fantastic reaction.
I love this song. It was written by Brian for Freddie. A completely amazing banf
This is a sad song but not as sad as Days of our lives makes me cry everytime.Freddie was so sick and yet still gave us his awesome love.
👍❤️👍Freddie.
One of my very favourite Queen songs x love it 😍
Please go back and do some early queen. In the lap of the gods is one of my favorites - 1975 Hammersmith and also a different song (same name) In the lap of the gods 1974 at the rainbow. Both versions are amazing (same name, different music and different lyrics). Thanks.
There is no bad Queen song.
Let Me Live has verses by Freddie, Roger and Brian. Beautiful!
Honestly, I have not ran into one bad song. I love Queen. Can’t believe I’m just discovering their music 🤦🏾♂️
Can you check out Teo torriatte they performed it for their Japanese fans and it was also played this year at the Japanese Tokyo Olympic opening ceremonies
They are “next level” - well said! 😎. Great reaction. Look forward to more 😊
You would enjoy, No One but You ( Only the Good Die Young). Tribute song to Freddy from the remaining members of Queen.
An absolutely beautiful song. Freddie gave his all to sing it. I'm looking forward to seeing Queen in November in Denver and San Francisco. It may be the only time I will ever get the chance. No one can replace Freddie and Brian and Roger didn't even try to. They found a singer that could sing the songs in the original key they were written and they really like him so much that they have been with him for 12 years now. Adam Lambert isn't Freddie but he puts on a great show and he's really likeable. I started listening to him over a year ago and the guy can sing. So excited to see Brian and Roger and the musicians they have chosen to work with to tour!!!
Pat can u please play You take my breath away from Hydepark? U Will be in for a big surprise!
Yes, it’s beautifully sung by Freddie with so much emotion. Absolutely Wonderful!! 😍😍😍
Beautiful
Phenomenal
Its his love of opera that shows in his and queens music, its there in all their harmonys. You should go to the Queen and Alan Lambert gigs. They are excellent, and Alan isnt Freddie, he isnt trying to be, but he is brilliant and only he could sing these songs.
How comes l cry every time l hear this song?
Check out I Want to Break Free the video was Rodgers girlfriend's idea it's a spoof of a British sitcom called Coronation Street the guys had the best time making this particular video it's so funny they laughed all the way through it
Have you done “The Game” yet? 🤗
His last song was those were the days of our lives
He died right after recording it
I think this was the last full song Freddy recorded....his very last one was not finished when he died so Brian finished the last verse or so.
I have to say, if you understand what's these lyrics actually mean, it's quite heartbreaking actually!
i wonder if he knew how much he was loved. I do hope so!
Brian fans must hate me but he infruiates the heck out of me
As far as i can tell although brian did more work on putting it together and finishing it off it was very much his and Freddie song
someone posted a link lower down of a video where Brian says
'we' (him and Freddie) frashed out the lyrics
Brian later thought of the lines soul painted like the wings of a butterfly
he then did the demo
we didnt discuss the lyrics we new the meaning
which is pretty much what he said in the express interview
spent the afternoon together solidified the first verse,Freddie wasn't well but I had enough material to finish it
I added soul painted like the wings of a butterfly
'finished' mapping it out which implies they had started it and had atleast the melody?
he put the demo together
what I dont understand is if he did all the composition himself why he set it so difficult when Freddie was ill,Brian said he could only sing it in falsetto and it's difficult as you need a lot of breath control as it keeps climbimg
or Freddie was involved with the initial composition then Brian realised how hard it would be to sing
but if he was doing the demo he could have set it easier
so thats not making much sense to me
but freddie nailed it!
wiki but I cant find what interview it came from
I sat down with Freddie, and we decided what the theme should be and wrote the first verse. It's a long story, that song, but I always felt it would be important because we were dealing with things that were hard to talk about at the time, but in the world of music, you could do it.[9]
- Brian May - 1994
but I've seen more recent interviews of Brian playing down freddies involvement in the song
I just love your reactions. youre a true brother.
Well every queen song is great. Some are special but all are awsome
Dr Brian May wrote most of this, but unsure if Freddie would want too sing it, as it says a lot of what they didn't really talk about, Freddie told the rest of Queen and his family and friends about the HIV and that was the end of the conversation, it turned into AIDS later on, but again it wasn't discussed,Freddie just wanted too get on and enjoy life, he had always said he wouldn't make old bones
He told them in 1989, when he already had AIDS and was very ill, and he never told his parents anything at all. They knew he was ill but didn't know how serious it was until the end.
@@janematthews3394 I've gone by interviews from his sister, mum, and Dr Brian May and Roger Taylor, I only watch or listen too the actual people involved in anything and they say slightly different from what you're saying, they were there, and with family that includes Mary Austin
@@sandrabutler3752
His sister said he told her August 90 he was terminal she asked about the marks on his leg but he didnt explain why
Her husband was asked about it he was with her mother doung an interview
He said the same thing but added it didnt sink until until they got to the car and of all things put on who wants to live forever
Thanks 😊
U r right pat they are amazing
You still havent done one by one, only the good die young. Its beautiful tripbute to Freddie written by brian. I love all queen but brians songs always hit you in the heart.
Hey. Do you have the link? I am working on Queen reactions this week.
Howdy pat from Scotland
The Master piece is Innuendo
There is a film on Netflix called the show must go on, its about Queen as they are now.
Luv ur reactions pat
Every time I hear this song 🎵 it makes me so sad 😞 he could not stand up unaided, and with a shot of vodka, he did the song in one take!
He died before the album was finished 😪
Master pièce with Bohemian rhapsodie, Innuendo
Freddie got this song in only one take!
This band is Nr One.
I’m going slightly mad and those were the days. You can tell how thin he was
You should check out Adam lumber doing live with queen
Freddie was very ill at this point. His voice never failed.
Freddy The Voice nobody can beat him :)
can you review the song Mother Love. its the last song Freddie recorded but didnt quite finish it. Brian finished it and its heartbreaking. Brian sang the last verse
Freddie was too weak to make a new video when they recorded this song, so they made a compilation of past videos.
❤️
I've got a vid for you to have a look at:
Pink Floyd Comfortably numb Pulse live.
I thing that'll make your jaw drop.
Mother love is his last song,
Brian May had to finish the last verse.
May I suggest Roger's old friends song xx
Brian's IQ is 190. That really shocked me.
He was too sick to do a video.
Bohemian rapsody is awsome too
His voice was phenomenal
