Keep in mind while the rankings are accurate to the order people pass the first stage in there is a big flaw with the system, as you saw Rin went in as the first person, if everyone was equal skill it would just be a list of who went in first etc. So you could be the best player in BL but ranked the lowest if you just waited till the end.
Also you said you didn't really understand the system of how its going to work. So each team pairs into 3, they can only fight teams of 3, if they win they take a player and have 4, can only vs 4. So technically if you win 2 games in a row you are done with the selection. If you lose a 3v3 game you go back down with 2 players, you play another team who's lost and only has 2 players, if you win you take one and the other is eliminated, if you lose again and the other team doesn't pick you then your eliminated. So while Isagi thought about vs Chigiri/Kunigami, if it was a 2v2 situation he would essentially be dooming one of them or himself/Bachira to go home. (Technically possible but very unlikely that someone could lose their first game, get chosen, then when they play 4v4 lose and get chosen again and then they can pass the selection never winning a game).
