This is a very dark anime even with how cute it looks. At first it looks like a wholesome slice of life story but ends up being incredibly dark and tragic. But that just helps make this anime as good as she is, even with how dark it is it can be sweet.
@@WilliamLynx I know it is most likely more complex than it appears to be, this is a basic summary after all. There's only so much you can explain before you spoil everything about the show. This show is dark yet sweet at times, everything about it is far more than it appears to be, that's the charm. It's a cute looking anime that holds far more than it let's on at first glance. And that's why it's a good anime, what it is rather than what it shows.

Yeah someone living in a delusion is very dangerous. If they get bit they highly likely to hide it. It maybe a coping mechanism for some in a high stress situation, but if they don't have at least one foot firmly on the ground they are more dangerousthan the creatures you face.
@@cactusman9245 It's a cliffhanger ik. But apperantly the anime has strong reception and can finish the last 6 volumes it didn't cover(which would explain who that lady is at the end of ep12) Apperantly they has been a sequel in the manga
@@cactusman9245 Yeah the anime only covers the first 5 volumes and a Lil on 6. The second season would be the college characters introduction to the current roster. (The sequel manga I am speaking off is based after the first 12 volumes. )
I seriously cannot speak highly enough of this Anime. It was the first anime that I ever watched fully through, so maybe I'm a bit bias, but the twist seriously hit me like a ton of bricks. I went from thinking it would be a happy slice of life to being thrown into the middle of the apocalypse. It's such a shame that the manga didn't get fully animated into a TV show.

@@MegaMegajennifer *spoilers* yeah if I remember correctly its been a while since I’ve watched it I think it’s her death that broke mc and caused the hallucinations and that she has been in the basement the whole time and which mc has to go into and face her zombie to get life saving medicine for shove girl at the end of the week before they abandon the school plant a cross for her in the garden and mc is still surprisingly hopeful for the future after she stops hallucinating mostly
Read the manga for the rest of the story from where the anime ends! I love Yuki as a character because the author leave us to decide if she recovers her sanity or not. She is so lovable one cannot reject her because she saved the other girls. Sane or not Yuki is adorable.
I wonder if the creators of this anime took notes from 'Highschool Of the Dead'. Logically, zombies can only last a few days to a week. If they have been in the school for that long, there should be way fewer moving zombies in the courtyard. Zombies don't drink water, so they should be drying out at an alarming rate. That is unless they have freshly eaten flesh. Then the zombies would get a 1 day reprieve at most for moving.
Magic virus zombies like in most media seem immune to the problems. I work in medical - it's hard enough keeping someone functional even when there's relative-to-dead minor problems with respiration, circulation, etc.

But because of the hyper speed you show symptoms from the zombie virus, the rabies shot is useless. The only other difference between the 2 is, the Zombie virus is starts off as airborne. Once it infects all it can while airborne, it can only be transmitted through bites.
Japanese writers are really creative challenging us about mental health issues, either directly or indirectly. Riko from “Made in Abyss” is a similar horror story with a strong moral message.
She's still my top fav but I also wonder how they managed character development in Megumi when she was turned and gone from the beginning...? (Through the series obviously.)
