    Nobody seems to mention that the rear tail lights were placed so low is because of the wide opening, and the placement of the rear struts, if they were placed higher the opening would have been smaller, and obviously Hyundai designers did not want that.

      i can agree with their aesthetic sacrifice for function

      Hyundai has said this over and over during their rollout of this model. Guess no one paid attention.

      It doesn't look that bad imo. I think it's more of an excuse by Hyundai the lights are literally in the door power could come through the top where it hinges seems like they could easily place the L.E.D. lights anywhere they want how would that really effect the opening? 🤔

    Trunk would be smaller if taillights were highers. 90% of it is great, front view , side view amd interior are spot on 👌

      I'd be ok with the trunk being alittle bit smaller haha

    Rear isn’t great. But not a ruined vehicle and not a deal breaker. Plenty of ugly crossovers out there and this isn’t one. I actually think the rear end on this looks better than the new headlight design on the updated Sorento platform mate. And this blows highlander and pilot out of the water inside and out

    Rear Design Ruined this car, literally would have looked great if they just moved the tailight up 5 inches lol

    As much as i agree with your design opinion, its not like hyundai designers didn't realize that the tail lights were abnormally lower and sagging, they just chose to go with function over form. What you haven't done is either not done your research on why they had to go this route or you have done your research but failed to mention in your video, which is a very critical piece of information.

      I would prefer to have slightly less functionality over a weird looking design. To each his own tho. My wife, who is not a car enthusiast, did not buy this car simply because of how the back looked, and she was totally in love with it. Which is unfortunate, I even asked her to reconsider because overall the car does look outstanding and it's incredible value for the price, but she can't get over how the rear looks 😂😂

    • @dineshthangavel
      @dineshthangavel 6 месяцев назад

      @HammysShowcase I agree, the rear seems to be a deal breaker for many. Hyundai was sinister enough to make this weird design choice and let us people fight on it 😂

  • @minutemanmuster

    The lower tail light design helps to ground the vehicle and give it the perception of weight. Others here have mentioned the practical reasons which allow the larger opening. The Edmunds proposal essentially says 'why don't you make it look like every other SUV'.

    Okay hear me out- the back has actually grown on me and I actually like the entire vehicle’s design 🫢 I still can’t tell if I like the new Kona though. I’ve seen it in person and I it’s like I do- but when you see the lower trims out and about it’s like 🥴 Whiiich could also be the case for this Santa Fe - only time will tell 😂

    • @HammysShowcase
      @HammysShowcase  6 месяцев назад +1

      I'm not a fan of the Kona design either, I just, don't like it in general lol... But I think over time I think I could live with how the rear of the Santa Fe looks

    I love the quirky brake light placement on our 2024 Santa Fe Limited. It wasn’t a deal breaker for us, we love the vehicle and we bought it in Serenity white, which I think looks the best.

  • @X-Zyus

    Honestly, I think it's something I could get used to and wouldn't be a deal breaker. I agree that it would look better with the tail lights lifted, but I also understand why it's lowered for functionality and more space. So, for me, I would give it a 98/100.

    • @HammysShowcase
      @HammysShowcase  6 месяцев назад

      I can agree with that. The rest of the car is a solid 10/10

      I saw that! That's a crazy one off situation tho, I don't think it's representative of the car being unreliable. The Santa Fe for the past few generations has been using that exact same transmission and there hasn't been widespread transmission failures
