Saturday morning matinee at the Gaumont cinema in fair Reddish Town UK - made me wanna strut with attitude when I was around ten years old. Still sounds good
Main difference is Ventures played Fender guitars this is an English band and guitarist I assume Vick Flick who wouldn’t have had access to USA guitars in 1960 when this was released myself being a player from that era knows they weren’t available here then This in my view makes the lead sound more stiff proberly a Eastern European guitar or German

One of the first things I (and probably 10 million others) mastered on the O' Git.
Geoff Cook, sorry but you're wrong. Ive seen The Ventures several times and everyone copies their version.
For a good live version, check out.
Walk Don’t Run Tom Darcy
This version is far better than The Ventures

Also John Barry seven were more brass than guitars unlike the all guitar playing Ventures
I bought a Futurama in 1962 and thought "Wow! I've got the same guitar as Vic Flick".
This has none of the spirit of The Ventures version. Very stiff performance here and could be a high school band rehearsing for a gig.
