I love how intense this moment is between Jamie and Brianne, so that Jamie is startled by the clapping, as though he’d forgotten there were others in the room.
It had great moments, the writers were still good writers who can come up with those scenes, but it was still rushed (because the show runners wanted to be done with it, HBO wanted to give them as much time as they need). Even with the rushed feeling where it was harder to justify the Daenerys going bad so fast, the real issue was the end of the Lannisters. Death by a crumbling building without that one scene with Cersei facing off one of her enemies and realizing she's lost. Leading up to it the discussions were on who it should be. Arya already had a couple of those revenge scenes and a lot of people still wanted her to be the one. Others wanted a real face off with Daenerys, not just her dragon dropping a building on Cersei. I still think if they had a better death scene for Cersei and Jaime people wouldn't mind it so much.
Why wouldn't they? Knights are usually held in high esteem. They knew that if Jamie was offering to knight Brienne, that it wasn't a joke. They knew he was serious and wasn't playing around. Because that was considered an exclusive "brotherhood" that most men weren't privvy to much less women.
I appreciated this scene a lot more after I listened to the books (available on RUclips for free). I thought of it as just a cliche scene, but in the books, we get to know Brienne's thoughts and feelings. I now cry whenever I watch this scene. I hope this ends up happening in the books or at least something similar.
Those words are so simple, but so powerful. And the way Jamie delivers those words? It's not just because of his relationship with Brienne but as a knight he took those words seriously (in his way, he wasn't a saint but he was undeniably a defender of HIS realm/house and speaker of truth....for the most part) and knew that Brienne did too. She was definitely worthy of that title and all that came with it.
and few, if any, would fulfill the oath better. I really hope that this either was something that they got from GRRM, or that he will use himself in the final book.

I don't know how many times I watched this scene, but I cried every single time! Strength and honor, Ser Brienne!

We were all Tormund in that moment of joyous clapping. 🥰
People rag on season 8, and rightly so. However, this is one of the best moments in the entire show.

Yes. I agree that's it's one of the best moments of the series.
"Look at that smile...like a dork." 😂
Sir! That was that most beautiful smile, ever! Lol
I love that all the men in the room are treating the moment with reverence and respect.

This scene was the most moving of the entire series IMHO, I loved it!!!

MY FAVORITE SCENE IN THE WHOLE SERIES! 🤘💪❤️ (Indian Calypso….Best Reaction 😁)
No matter what else the show runners f'd up, this scene was beautifully written and performed imho.
In a season of very few positives, this scene was definitely one... gets me every time
Nobody deserved it more.

The series ended at this moment. At least in my mind it did
The first one is the always stupid one. Just skip her for the next.
Ok...
Nah mate, the second pair. 😂🇦🇺
I don't know if this scene is my favorite on the series, but it's definitely in the top 5. 🥲
For sure!!!! There are a LOT of moments in the show, but I still get teary every time I see it. :)
