Nice review, it's always interesting to see how a figure fares compared to others and your score system is a great way of determining the value. I don't own any Furyu figures, but I have always seen mixed reviews of them on MFC and among other anime figure RUclipsrs. Often, the photos on MFC don't quite translate into a figure's quality, so the discussion about lighting, modeling, and shading is a very helpful accompaniment to your video showcase.

I feel like my brain is expanding with all the new info and it'll definitely help me decide what figures to get/not to get as I keep growing my collection. Initially I was surprised by all of the complaints, but after seeing all of the details you pointed out and taking a closer look at the figure itself, I can definitely see more of the ups and downs!

Great review as always! I loved when you matched the lighting to the original artwork. It really showed off the potential this figure had, it's just a shame it didn't quite deliver under the natural lighting because the sculpts quite pretty 😕 Hard agree on the trees airbrushing, as it is currently the texture looks more lumpy than like tree bark. Wish they went with a solid linear shading look like you said with the original artwork. It would've really made it come to life and hid some of those seam lines. That paint clumping on her hair too...eesh. For her price point a defect like that right near her face would bother me a lot lol

It looks bad (though passes the 2 foot away test - "can't see it from 2 feet away"). What strikes means more odd though is that the hair piece isn't complicated. Thank you so much for the thoughtful comment! We own 17 FuRyu's with a lot of them being Miku's. So far, this is the only one we've done an in-depth review. I would say this one seems noticeably below the average quality we own, especially on the Miku front. I think the real issue is that they are starting to charge Alter level prices, but can't deliver on the Alter level quality. If this figure was 28-29K, it wouldn't feel like bad value. I would be comfortable saying that as of right now, FuRyu's quality is as varying as FREEing's. When it's good, it's solid. Then some you have to do a double take 😂

For that price tag, i honestly expect a more elaborated base, better depiction of the snow and a more 'filled' blossoms scene which is somewhat lacking on both sides of the foreground. The negative sentiment is really a situation of perceived quality coupled with FuRyu's wrecked sense of pricing and lack of transparency. Tbvh, if I should PO any figure (judging from my past FuRyu purchases) from them, I wont be expecting too much shading, no matter what they choose to show me in their product shots. Also, thank you for debunking the lightings situation. Moreover, I was hoping 2024 would be a year we see FuRyu trying to balance their quality (and hopefully elevate to higher standards) versus asking price since they have a few interesting figures announced, but judging from their POs' pricing in January and February...maybe not :/

I‘m very torn on f:nex figures, they often have very nice concepts but the delivery just isn’t there for me in terms of overall quality which is why i stopped buying from them. From time to time i check out if they’ve improved and i was looking forward to this miku but sadly again still not up to my standards T-T Thank you for this in depth video!
