Thanks for this, it's a good arrangement. Very helpful in helping us to understand the tune. Just a couple of points, the harmonica part is played on a Melodica by the band, and that guitar part is played on a bass guitar. There is also another guitar part if one wanted to beef things up a bit in the instrumental parts. Great stuff well presented, Cheers!
Hi Martin I really enjoyed reading your great comments and I'm glad that you enjoyed my video. Funnily enough, I used to have a Melodica when I was a kid and last night there was a great documentary on Sky Arts about the making of the album. I thought the harmonica sounded very close and better than using a keyboard! I'm looking into getting a bass guitar and may re-record this track again. All the best, David 🎹🎸🎶👍
I watched the Sky Arts doc too, which prompted me to search on youtube for live videos of the song, and yours popped up. I had hoped that a BBC radio session for John Peels show might have been filmed, but alas no luck. I should add that I found a free MIDI file on the net to play with too. I'll need to change most of the sounds but your video has some good pointers - regards M@@DavidGordonJDXi
You're very welcome Lloyd and really glad to hear that it's inspired you to learn the song. I have to admit that I wasn't familiar with it until it was suggested to me and I really enjoyed learning the song and recording it. All the best, David 🎶😎🎸👍
Awsome. Thnx for sharing. I love my Jd-xi but just dissatisfied with the analogue section. It's okay but limited. I use a Behringer Wasp Deluxe for bass and a Donner B1. The Supernatural sound engine though is awsome, and the drum section with all the famous Roland kits is fantastic
Thanks for taking the time to leave such a great comment and letting me know about your setup. I've never got tired of using my JD-Xi especially for creating backing tracks. I find the keys very delicate and am pleased that I have the larger Juno-D. All the best, David 🎹🎸🎶👍
It's always been one of my favourite cover songs and I'm forever grateful to the guy who suggested it to me. Many thanks for your lovely comment, all the best, David 🎹🎸🎶👍
I was recently watching a documentary about the making of the album this song came from and the original uses a very similar delay trick. All the best, David 🎹🎸🎶👍

@@andysmalls9307 thanks for letting me have a listen. I really like the sound you're creating especially the percussion. I would like to hear a solid bass line to go with it and maybe some chord pads too? The lead theme is really good but just needs a little more defining. It reminds me a bit of early Joy Division. Keep up the good work 🎹🎶👍
@@DavidGordonJDXi thanks David I'm not that good I'm a bit limited to how to use the v50 I'm not a musician that's why I got the jdxi it's more modern and easier to use especially when people like you do great tunes and explain just how to do it so I'll be watching you so I can get betterthanks for your great comments
