Brilliant performance by Blaze! He is plenty good enough. He is a different singer to Bruce, and that’s the beauty of it. Bruce is a tenor and Blaze is a baritone. A racehorse and a shire horse are two different beasts. At the end of the day Blaze was there to give it everything when Bruce didn’t want to give anything.

Thank you for posting this video. I really like Blaze and I've never seen him sing songs like The Clairvoyant. X-Factor is one of my favorite albums and for me Blaze is great on the songs on this album. Of course he would have problems singing songs made for Bruce to sing, and that's not his fault. He strives to do his best and maybe the band should have adapted to him too, in some way. But as much as some people hate Blaze, songs like The Clansman are still played live today, so he left his mark on the band's history.
he is great now because he sing 1 or 2 Maiden songs in a few months. if now he again needs to sing 10 songs almost every night - he will be exactly as horrible as before.
The "I feel reborn again" line at the end of the Clairvoyant was Blaze resigning to the fact he just couldn't do it. It's such a shame to see a great singer reduced to struggling his way through songs (i) not written for his voice and (ii) played in the wrong key for his voice. Wolfsbane and Blaze's solo stuff are both so good. This was simply a case of terrible recruitment by Steve.
Truthfully and no disrespect but I think it was more of they liked him as a person. Some have said Doggie White from Blackmore’s Rainbow would have been a better choice. Who knows what would or could have been.
I always thought that when Bruce rejoined Maiden in 1999 that they should have redone the vocals from the 2 Albums that had Blaze at vocals. This way fans can have both albums in whichever singer they wanted.
I think he is great. His voice is particular and is a complete artist (not only singer), writes good songs and tells good stories. But as always, it's just a matter of taste...
he has a powerful voice, but is range is so limited and he's so out of tune, and also the vocal lines are not very interesting to me... nothing like the good ole Bruce Bruce
They are very different... I like both and also Paul. Blaze was out of tune in live with Maiden but in their material he is accurate (in live and studio). Now Bruce's voice is very limited (i know... he had cancer and it's older) and Blaze sounds very good to me. Regards.

Blaze did the classic songs better than I expected but he never had the same range as Bruce so its understandable that be struggles a Fair bit. But thats what Harris and the rest of the band signed up for when picking someone with a darker voice. He did so great on the albums he sung on!!
Blaze is a fine singer, the problem is he wasn't accommodated for, even half a step down would've helped him. The xfactor and final frontier are my fave maiden albums. Blaze had bollocks of steel to step into this role, he tried his best, wasn't a diva, and that's all there is to it.
First saw Maiden on this tour. I hold it as still the second best time I saw Maiden. He sounds great (Blaze) during some songs and not so great on others (not all the earlier stuff sounds bad). It was cool seeing him in the club, and for all the haters out there, even Bruce couldn't sing some of the songs he sang right on Live After Death? Or do you count the end of Flight of Icarus "singing"? He did get better in the nineties and during the reunion and he's great now but had some bad years as well.
Remember that world slavery tour lasted 331 days with 190 live concerts! And of course Bruce is human and thats why sometimes he hammers his voice! He was really exhausted and also they played in huge arenas! With very complicated and demanding songs! And the tours with Blaze were short and some of the them were played in small places! So theres no way to compare with Bruce ! Dickinson is a beast! And now he is singing better than in the nineties ! And performed flight of icarus during legacy of the beast best than ever!
I have the feeling that the band members were enjoying the concerts and their performance much more during that period....In this video you see the real Iron Maiden band...With Bruce, its Bruce Dickinson dominating the stage and telling everyone what to do.....Blaze is not that type of character so the whole show is a LOT more balanced...The performance here feels more natural and less staged, just watch Dave Murray he performs so much better has a lot more fun....And Blaze Bailey....what a great guy and vocalist
I got to see them actually play a CLUB here in NJ and met them at a meet and greet at a local mall for this. Incredibly Fear Factory was a very young opener. The crowd was WAY too big for the old Birch Hill Niteclub. I remember the first 3 songs were Man On The Edge, Wrathchild and Heaven Can Wait. By the end of WC I was shitting my pants and had to fight my way to the back of the club for air. That was half my life ago and I can still smell that cold Feb night. Up The Irons FOR LIFE!
Everyone says that, but I don't think it would have made a huge difference. He would have been out of tune with that as well. He just don't have anywhere near the range to pull it off, tuned down or not. Is what it is.
@@mr.timebombman2230 wrong!! Blaze asked for that tuning and in E flat he could hit all high notes in his screaming range but Harris refused..the rest is history.. :/
Really felt sorry for blaze as he is a true gentleman. The key to some of songs didn’t suit his voice and they should detuned them but full respect to him taking on the task. Still would love a Bruce and blaze duet on stage as the X factor is so underrated album.
Carl Stawicki i feel confident of those that were truly available, Steve picked the best fit, i have no opinion, just a respect for Steves intelligence.
For the life of me I cannot understand why would Blaze get the job too. Iron Maiden at this point in time could literally get ANY singer they wanted in the whole world, and they choose a guy whose vocal range is lower than what half their songs require
I dont think it's fair to blame only him. The two albums with Blaze had some pretty bad songs. And for many 80's metal acts it wasnt easy to survive with the Alternativ/Grunge wave that almost over night wiped out many of the 80's bands.
Here's the thing guys, Blaze could have did it all if he trained his voice to match the range of the early material but he didn't. I imagine there wasn't a manual on proper singing techniques back then but his voice can work its way up to tenor and baritone if he tried.
Blazes natural range is 3 octaves, Bruces over 4..they had to tune down whole step for stuff Like Halloweed, TNOTB and The Trooper or drop them completely!! Period!
+twenty4hell Blazy Bayley did a great job and he has a dark voice and can't sing bruce's higher notes. He's actually a great singer but its very hard to be a stand in singer for Maiden.
+David Rebollo Sierra blaze was allways scared as hell. he soulda just been himself and forget who hes replacing, but he couldnt! on thier second album i saw then at a club in L.A. that only held 3000 people! he was using bruce-isms and pretending he was in a big place! you dont have to wave your hands blaze! the club is only 600 feet deep. we see you!

no mobile phones just live in moment great times
Great concert

The "I feel reborn again" line at the end of the Clairvoyant was Blaze resigning to the fact he just couldn't do it. It's such a shame to see a great singer reduced to struggling his way through songs (i) not written for his voice and (ii) played in the wrong key for his voice. Wolfsbane and Blaze's solo stuff are both so good. This was simply a case of terrible recruitment by Steve.

Respect Man for this comment!!
Truthfully and no disrespect but I think it was more of they liked him as a person. Some have said Doggie White from Blackmore’s Rainbow would have been a better choice. Who knows what would or could have been.
this proves in studio can everybody make it. He sings very good on x factor.
Blaze did not sound good with Maiden back in those days. But now he has done great things.
I always thought that when Bruce rejoined Maiden in 1999 that they should have redone the vocals from the 2 Albums that had Blaze at vocals. This way fans can have both albums in whichever singer they wanted.
Hallowed Be Thy Name..that final...sad...sad...
Wtf, studio audio on the first song.
Blaze don't fit with the classics. But please hear his material from Wolfsbane and his solo career...
actually did... not great
I think he is great.
Regards.
Man on the Blaze
Close da borders yah an' diz shitz crazy yo. Never trust drunks, especially when days in da pack! We wuz in dat hood and dem alcoholics, days surround me ands tooks mah wallet and I hadda walk alls dah way home, and nobody help me tah get there!!
Blaze killer classic songs :(
The X Factor one of the most underestimated metal dark albums in the ever.
Do caralhooo the x factor um grande album!
Meu ..... estes caras tocam pra CARALHO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Blaze o melhor vocalista do Maiden.....
boa piada 😂
Best ever
I got to see them actually play a CLUB here in NJ and met them at a meet and greet at a local mall for this. Incredibly Fear Factory was a very young opener. The crowd was WAY too big for the old Birch Hill Niteclub. I remember the first 3 songs were Man On The Edge, Wrathchild and Heaven Can Wait. By the end of WC I was shitting my pants and had to fight my way to the back of the club for air. That was half my life ago and I can still smell that cold Feb night. Up The Irons FOR LIFE!
Maiden
I love you
For Life
I was there
Better video quality than the Chile gig. Now i get a clearer look at the X-Factour Eddie
pozdravi na fsitski priateli ot Bulgaria!Biah tam.Koykite kato vlizaxme v zalata ydariha ni kato zivotni.Xybavi spomeni!
they should've really stepped down from E to Eb :D
Everyone says that, but I don't think it would have made a huge difference. He would have been out of tune with that as well. He just don't have anywhere near the range to pull it off, tuned down or not. Is what it is.
@@mr.timebombman2230 i agree; but the lower tuning could have somehow masked the lack of range... but that's not Maiden now is it :D
@@mr.timebombman2230 wrong!! Blaze asked for that tuning and in E flat he could hit all high notes in his screaming range but Harris refused..the rest is history.. :/
I identify myself with those guys screaming: "edge of dark-ness, edge of dark-ness". Lucky fellas.
"Fear" ficou perfeita pra voz do Blaze!
Really felt sorry for blaze as he is a true gentleman. The key to some of songs didn’t suit his voice and they should detuned them but full respect to him taking on the task. Still would love a Bruce and blaze duet on stage as the X factor is so underrated album.
excelentes
Grande show!Grande Blaze Bayley!
😮😮😮 iron Maiden??? 👏👏👏👏👏🤟🤟🤟
oh blaze
Fear Of The Dark?
Sounds Like Blaze Had A Fear Of Hitting The Right Note
Shane D calm down. theres no need for abuse. if blaze was good he'd still be fronting maiden
Blaze is tone deaf
Shane D
oh, ok thanks Dr.
what about 9:20 !??! I mean, what the FUCK !?
Ouch. Funny though
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
There were so many power metal singers at the time they could have chosen to replace Bruce. The choice of Blaze always confused me.
I read somewhere that Steve chose Blaze because he was the only British singer in the list of available singers at that time.
Carl Stawicki agree with you
I dont think it's fair to blame only him. The two albums with Blaze had some pretty bad songs. And for many 80's metal acts it wasnt easy to survive with the Alternativ/Grunge wave that almost over night wiped out many of the 80's bands.
this is the time I tought maiden was done. but Bruce and Adrian came back...
And after Bruce and Adrian came back, there's not a single good album.
But at least they sound good again...
Went to see them last summer...it was packed!!! Like in the 80s...
You got a point!
Nice to hear Blaze in his prime
wether you use to the sound or not
You get used to it very quick, after all there was no one else
He abandoned them
Here's the thing guys, Blaze could have did it all if he trained his voice to match the range of the early material but he didn't.
Period!
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘💯👍👍👍👍👍👍
The vocals is bad on so many levels i cant even begin, im speechless
+twenty4hell Blazy Bayley did a great job and he has a dark voice and can't sing bruce's higher notes. He's actually a great singer but its very hard to be a stand in singer for Maiden.
twenty4hell Blaze sounded great on the two albums but live he was absolutely atrocious at singing the classics.. terrible.
Blaze :D
23:05 Nice to see Nicko helping Blaze with his singing! hahahaha
lol I love how Nicko has to walk off with Janick's guitar.
HARRIS ES EL SIGNIFICADO DE HEAVY METAL SUBLIME MAESTRO
breave try, Blaze, but that's what it was... a brave TRY
+David Rebollo Sierra blaze was allways scared as hell. he soulda just been himself and forget who hes replacing, but he couldnt!
on thier second album i saw then at a club in L.A. that only held 3000 people! he was using bruce-isms and pretending he was in a big place! you dont have to wave your hands blaze! the club is only 600 feet deep. we see you!
