Not everyone references this chapter to silence others. I reference it to talk about hypocrisy and the inherent bias that pervades the process of judging. The "log" obstructs our view. We often focus on the faults of others based on a warped perception of who they are or what they do. Yes, we are commanded to adhere to higher laws of conduct. But we can't always know for sure if we are on the right path in response to others behavior. That's where faith comes in. We must proceed with caution and humility.
Yeah, real nice avoiding reality....Jesus did not say "don't judge me" he actually said "Stop judging, that you may not be judged for with the judgement you are judging you will be judged" he then went on to say, with the judgement you are judging you will be judged. The whole passage is about humility.
I learned a lot
I am studying this verse this week and this has given me some good needed concepts. Thank you.

I love the controversial ones Luke! This gets tossed around a lot.
I'm not judging you...I'm giving you fair warning.
