If I may also speculate, I believe the ‘social engineering’ aspects of these varied conversations appeal to Kitboga as well.
Omg same!! I was just writing a comment about him empathy or fake empathy for his "dead wife". He just seemed so genuinely upset and it fascinates me that he's scamming him for money all at the same time. I'm just too empathetic I think as someone who has experienced so much loss in my life. Either he's really good or it seems he's experienced loss as well which made me feel something for him. How sad is that?
Now that I think about it they probably deal a lot with that scamming the elderly. He just reacted so quickly and genuinely sounded sorry for bringing up his "wife". Lol it must be PMS. Ignore me!! I'll see myself out. NEVERMIND!! I TAKE IT ALL BACK!! Such a scumbag!!

I'm rewatching some of his older videos where he reveals and it's way less satisfying when the scammer is like "ohh you're a prank caller bye!" and instantly hang up, versus genuinely thinking a grandma just redeemed their gift cards 😃

I'm always surprised by how many people listen to these calls at night. I could never do that. I listen all day, and I listen to Gibi at night. I came down with the rona yesterday, and these full length calls are amazing for passing the time.

what's great about this is that it trains scammers to be more likely to assume some confused old man is actually a youtuber cause they can never be sure again, so not only are you wasting their time, you're also making them less likely to follow through with real victims in the future. My FIL was just scammed and it makes him feel better that he is not the only one. You are not alone. And I am shocked at how much this happens, but so glad to have found these channels! One of them interviews people and asks them to tell their story so others learn from their experience. My FIL won't do it, but I would encourage anyone to do it!!
It actually happened to my brother, I was surprised as he is tech savvy. He said that he just got home from work in the evening and wasn't paying attention to what was going on due to being so tired, that's how they get a lot of people.

@@luckmanali187 That's obviously not the only type of scam, there are some that also just try to appeal to your better nature, like refund scammers and try to seem more legit by using wire transfers or crypto for their operations.
In general scammers always seem to be looking for a certain kind of person, which is not tech-savvy, weak to pressure, gullible and fearful of authorities. Remember that victims are often put under a substantial amount of stress, which can also cause one to tunnel-vision pretty hard and lose sight of things.
There are often some inconsistencies in the scammer's scripts to weed out those that are savvy enough to recognize the scammer for what they are, so that they only need to spend a significant portion of time on people they think will actually bite - children, the elderly and people with some form of mental impairment. It is probably correct to think that many average people don't fall for this kind of stuff (though it does happen sometimes). They are not targetting average people. They are specifically targetting the most vulnerable demographics who don't always know how to spot the red flags.
Listened to this whole thing while I cleaned and organized my garage. Now I got a clean garage. Scammers got scammed. Everyone was entertained and happy. (Except the scammers of course) Good times. Thanks, Kit!

I have a lot of older customers, and yes they talk a lot about anything and everything. This is telling to me, that the scammer must target older people because he very quickly recognizes that. I can most always tell a widow or widower based on their conversations with me. Sometimes, retail or food workers they come into contact with are the only conversations they get to have, sadly 😥 😔

What if GOOGLE cooperated with operations like this and you could request a special Google play code that gave them a message saying that they got the money (but they dont) and it alerts Google to which account it went to and Google can shut down their account and all Google services. That would be great but Google is too busy stealing our data
I'm not sure that they actually redeem the cards, I think they sell them illegally, like at a discount that's why they often try to get $2,000-$4,000 worth per scam

He can't figure out how to scam sending himself money from your checking account, and he immediately switches to YOU need to go buy gift cards. Perfectly logical! This is the most incompetent scammer I can remember on this channel.

Take it as a lesson and use it well, grasshopper! I have! I've started messing with them since I found the scam baiters on RUclips. 😁 It.. is.. so.. much.. fun!! Prank calling isn't lame anymore! I never let them get to my devices though. I feed them a load of bull as long as I can until they want to connect or fish for info. Then I'll make up some extreme situation to stop talking to them and just let them listen until they hang up. I've done publisher's clearing house wins, the fire department rescuing my cat in a tree and also believing I was abducted and the men in black show up. Scammers stay on the phone for a while out of pure confusion and curiosity. I don't even use special effects like sirens or animal sounds. I'll bang on stuff and have friends act out with me sometimes but that's about it. Anyway, if you happen to play with the scammers too, be safe and have fun! Happy baiting!

I love how they insist that the victim has to fill out the refund forms, etc, It's almost like they're desperately grasping for even a thread of control out of the situations you put them through and I LOVE it. They're so shitty at their "job" and they deserve to know that wholeheartedly.

It's part of the scam. The victim believes they are at fault and owe it to the scammer to correct the wrong. Good way to collect personal info too.

I am an IT technician for almost 3 years and rebooting fixes the problem 9 out of 10 times, the rest is usually solved by reinstall or a really painful calls with microsoft and days spent by troubleshooting. Same goes for linux.
it's because he never swears or verbally assaults the scammers and at the same time making them be so frustrated and look embarrasing that some are almost certain to stop. At least when they hear themselves on RUclips and realize how stupid and ridiculous they are.. and sound! Kitboga is a genius!!

Really loved the outrage at connecting to a person's computer to take them to a site so they could watch you fill a form out. It truly is completely bonkers that any legitimate company would make you download software so they could connect to your computer, take you to a google form and tell you to fill it out.

The scammer keeps laughing when your Internet not working are they connected? You hear him sniggering when he says " your Internet no work"! He's definitely done something to test you then asking exactly how old you were!

In nany ways Kit's content is a healing platform. I had an elderly family member scammed out of thousands by the immigration scam. It happened quite fast but left hurt and trauma for a long time
