By far the best DYI channel I have seen! Very thorough and has instructions I can actually follow with no annoying loud music overpowering what you're saying. Thank you!
Thank you! My ‘raise the bathroom vanity height’ project has turned into a plumbing nightmare! This video has given me confidence that it can be fixed!
Your comment means a lot to me, Joe! I am thankful to go board to spread my knowledge on RUclips. I would not be possible without viewers like you. I hope all of your projects are going well. Take care!
Again, bravo Josh. Love seeing your boss getting involved as well. The only time I use clear silicone for a sink drain is when the sink is corian or some quarts sinks because plumbers putty can actually stain the product. Also if you get an inexpensive sink at a box store watch to see if the underneath part of the sink is flat and smooth. I've had to put some plumbers putty in-between the rubber piece and the sink. (Not often) Hooking up faucets and drains is always easier if you can as well. The drain out of the wall I always put my adapter on after the sinks or sink is installed so if you have to adjust, like you had to on the second hook up, you can glue the pieces and not use a threaded adapter. Of course I love the fact that you explained that this can happen. I always have what is called my tinker toy box with plenty of fittings especially on a remodel job. Of course new construction the vanities might not be chosen and plumbers do not know 100% what type of sink if it's a single bowl or double bowl in case someone changes their mind. Little things always happen but there's always ways around them. Very seldom do I put any adhesive underneath the vanity top for the reason if something were to be damaged and you had to remove the top it's easier to cut that little bead of silicone or adhesive. I've had tops to be removed that someone used liquid nails and you basically have to destroy the top to get it off and sometimes can damage the existing cabinet. Backsplashes as well. I never put any sealant underneath the bottom because you will not get a solid fit with something obstructing underneath. All your tips of course are fantastic with much information to almost anybody who might want to do this on their own. That's what I love about your videos and all the information that you share. And don't forget to always give your wife credit because that's the most important part of a successful job when they have to give you a hand. I almost forgot the important part of the project when it started how about the light fixtures. So much easier as you stated then you do not have an issue of damaging anything or scratching the cabinet or the countertop or even dropping something on it. 👍🏻
Thanks for the info about using silicone instead of putty on other materials. I actually never heard of that so that is helpful. Smart to hold off on the adapter as well. Better to have a glue joint vs Teflon tape for sure. I don’t like to put silicone on top of the vanity when setting the top either. If you have to lift it up to install something as I did in this video, it would be a mess. The support of a spouse is not something that can be substituted with anything else. I always look forward to your detailed comments David. Thanks again for your support!
Really appreciate these videos. I’m working on restoring our place from hurricane damage and have never done a lot of this kind of work. These videos really help a beginner like myself
I have learn soo much following your videos, I was actually able to upgrade mi own Breaker Panel so nice that the inspector ask who did it! I didn't pay a dime for it Lol
Have you ever considered doing a q&a livestream? You could even set it up for paid subscribers and have a call in number and email for people to send pics into so you can help them. A good way for you to make money and help a ton of people. Good luck man! Thanks for all the content
It’s funny you mention that because I am actually preparing to add something of that nature to my channel memberships. I want to make sure I have it thoroughly thought out before I start it. I’m looking at early February. Keep your eyes peeled!
That's a great tip to get the backsplash flush against the wall. Thanks! Also, recommending a related video at the end is smart marketing on your part. I feel like I'm wiki-binging with how many I've watched. I always hammer the like button for you, of course. I think you can afford to trim down your introduction at the beginning. It sounds like you're trying to say it fast to keep it short, but I think you could trim a sentence or two and let yourself breathe instead. Your content is fantastic, and that will bring more people in than any pitch.
Thank you for watching my channel! I love making videos, and it is very nice to know people are enjoying it. I appreciate the feedback about the intro. I have been debating on changing it for a while. Definitely gave me some good insight. Be sure to stay tuned for more videos to come. Take care!
A word of caution when using plumber's putty, sometimes referred to as 'stainless putty". It's okay to use it on stainless steel sinks, but depending on what material your sink is made of, most manufacturers of cultured marble bathroom sinks tell you NOT to use those putty's because they react with the material the sink is made of, and the sink will crack in the area where the pop-up drain is attached to the sink. Instead, they recommend using silicon to seal the pop-up to the sink. I recommend that you check with the manufacturer of your sink before using putty.
Hey Josh new suscriptor. I like your videos, the way you explain. Could you please make a video...how to find a short circuit? Thank you very much Josh
If the vanity has legs like a piece of furniture vs. a cabinet with a Toe Kick wouldn't you want to have your water lines coming out of the wall so it's easier to clean under the vanity? Nice work.
@@TheExcellentLaborer 😊 one of the only two plumbing jobs I ever did was installing that drain thing on there but of course the vanity was already in place. But it was really hard being underneath there trying to adjust it. But that was a long time ago I'm ready for more punishment now of course I've changed my tub spout diverter thing and my shower head that's it for me as a plumber. Wait I also replaced the kitchen diverter spray hose cartridge that's four plumbing jobs.🤣
This guy's got it going on with his projects!
I appreciate that. I have lots of videos in the making. Stay tuned for the projects!
these are the videos that deserve millions of views. not some person eating a mass amount of food into a microphone.
Everyone has their thing but I enjoy DIY videos too. Thanks a lot for your support!
Couldn't agree more. I just subscribed actually. He kills it in all his videos😁

Great video with skill 👍👏
You are very skilled. But what happens when in the future when a plumber needs to change pop up drain or tubular?
where did you get those lights on the walls
I get my lights from Amazon and wayfair. I hope that helps!
The store

I'm not familiar with this channel but it looks like a flip project. They love running pex and sharkbite whichever is easiest
So are there two cold supplies and two hot supplies? I only saw one.
What is the name of vanity and lights? Plus where are they from? Thx
Josh did you ever hear of wetting your finger with a drop of Dawn dish soap IN THE water when you're smoothing out the caulk?
I have heard of people using dish liquid and soap for that purpose, I have not tried it, but I bet it would work great. Thanks Wendy for your input!
Are those lights Daylight 5000K as well as the kitchen?
Yes they are. I really like them!
@@TheExcellentLaborer same here
Let's go
You got that right!
😎🛠️😎🛠️😎
Hey Ted!
First
You got first!
I hate those stupid rods for the sink plug
You didn't installed a double sink, instead a single sink.
Gee, what a sloppy job. Every where you look. Mess. No attention to details at all. This cannot be in major metropolitan area. Simply, would not sell.
I have to add a drain going from single to double sink/vanity. In the bathroom. Tips?
Great video to illustrate how construction is....thanks...
Thank you for your comment. You are welcome!
You are so generous with the details it makes a person feel confident and ready to think about such a job thank you Josh
My audience deserves the best videos I can make. I try to add all the pertinent details. I hope all of your projects go well. Thanks for watching!

Do you own a contracting company?
I build spec houses and sell them. The customer usually shows up once the house is about finished. In hope that helps!
