I can actually imagine that so well. He has one of himself to. "I'm our mage, I have all the spells and magic needed to keep us alive in dire times but I'm weaker than the others" he says despite being a boss fight and therefore having significantly higher health and damage than the party and having no healing moves he can use on himself.
Sounds great! As for the things I think you could do in the redesign, you could make the glasses have lines at the top and bottom like Photoshop Flowey has in his eyes, you could make the Deltarune symbol have teeth at the bottom like Photoshop Flowey's muzzle, and maybe make him held by cables/strings in the colors of 6 human souls.

Well, it's finally here and worth the wait! I know it's just temporary according to the description but I really like this regardless- though I'm sure the new version will be even better! Regarding the redesign, I loved the silhouette's implications in On His Hitlist that the wings were going to be Photoshop Flowey's arms, that would've been cool. Just a suggestion, though.
Theory about ralsei, what if at Asriels school there was another closet that lead to both dark worlds and asriel went in and got trapped in the dark world and that's who ralsei really is
My theory is that Ralsei is Asriel from the Undertale Pacifist ending. He teleported from the Undertale timeline to the Deltarune timeline in a last-ditch attempt to maintain his current form (he said he needed the powers of everyone's souls to maintain everyone's form, and maybe it's possible a Dark Fountain could have that same power, like if it's determination or something). He even said to us that "if you see me again, don't think of it as 'me', OK?" IIRC (and he is seemingly aware of the player so it could be referring to the player seeing him in Deltarune).

Love the use of his theme to replace the power of neo But a couple of things you could change for the remake: I think it would've been cool to have some omega flowey/god of hyperdeath sfx, instead of normal flowey sounds Idk why, but the instuments almost sound... friendly? It just doesnt feel intense, like more of an argument than a battle to the death, if that makes sense.
i understand your complaint but for me that's the upside of the song, you got to pick your battles and any fight theme for for Ralsei unless you killed like everyone isn't really a fight theme it's more of a I'm about to go kick your ass form R theme, though I do understand the want for a song like this that's a lot more intense, it's not this song, good tidings this had no real point

Was just gonna make a comment on what could be the replacement for MEGALOVANIA loop, but then I realized something... In this AU, Asriel is the NEO body AKA Mettaton, meaning Chara is Napstablook by Underswap, and if this is a Swap and not a Shift or Spin, who is Chara...? (Kwait, this AU is probably not a Swap or it ignores the rules because it can, since Spamton isn't Ralsei as the UT ghosts take the Fun Gang's roles) And about the loop replacement I thought it could be OuaT (since OuaT is associated with BOTH Chara and Asriel) but in BIG SHOT it loops with Dummy, not Ghost Fight, so idk now (With my edit, I was about to say this PROBABLY wouldn't work but I realized in SS pairs shift instead of just one, but then again in Jot's Deltashift and Switched Story there's no pairing in their shifts... Kinda wish him to hold a massive knife as Chara did... Or at least a locket. I mean, Umbralsei kinda resembled Chara in his original concept art and the theme simply contains megalovania as one of its leitmotifs.. It sure makes sense to have Chara-ish aspects. (Not to mention Flowey was a mix of chara-asriel's combined soul directly casted into a flower, with determination added later!) Provided this, the hearts could be a empty heart with red-white mosaic edges Also, thought the wires condemnating himself could be "his own" vines, resembling his own shell (formed as a result of his depression for some reason?) distrupting himself to be free and forcing him to resort into cyber dr*gs
Megalovania isnt Chara's theme. Toby has used it in previous occasions. Infact it isnt anyone's theme at all, Toby himself said that he intended it to sound like "The End" so Megalovania is the theme of "The End" like how "Snowdin Town" is the "Friendship" leimotif.

In this AU, Asriel is the NEO body AKA Mettaton, meaning Chara is Napstablook by Underswap, and if this is a Swap and not a Shift or Spin, who is Chara...? (Kwait, this AU is probably not a Swap or it ignores the rules because it can, since Spamton isn't Ralsei as the UT ghosts take the Fun Gang's roles)
And about the loop replacement I thought it could be OuaT (since OuaT is associated with BOTH Chara and Asriel) but in BIG SHOT it loops with Dummy, not Ghost Fight, so idk now (With my edit, I was about to say this PROBABLY wouldn't work but I realized in SS pairs shift instead of just one, but then again in Jot's Deltashift and Switched Story there's no pairing in their shifts... Eh just use OuaT)

Something feels off about the beat in general and I don’t know what it is

I mean, Umbralsei kinda resembled Chara in his original concept art and the theme simply contains megalovania as one of its leitmotifs.. It sure makes sense to have Chara-ish aspects. (Not to mention Flowey was a mix of chara-asriel's combined soul directly casted into a flower, with determination added later!)
Provided this, the hearts could be a empty heart with red-white mosaic edges
Also, thought the wires condemnating himself could be "his own" vines, resembling his own shell (formed as a result of his depression for some reason?) distrupting himself to be free and forcing him to resort into cyber dr*gs
Or it to be reversed. A rainbow heart with red missing.
Megalovania isnt Chara's theme. Toby has used it in previous occasions. Infact it isnt anyone's theme at all, Toby himself said that he intended it to sound like "The End" so Megalovania is the theme of "The End" like how "Snowdin Town" is the "Friendship" leimotif.
