When I was younger I had thoughts of this: Suppose, everything we ever wanted was free to have and own - BUT everyone had to take an unpaid job, taking money out of the complete equation for a moment.
Enjoyed watching the video and have always throughout life thought about everything you mentioned. Why are we forced into this matrix and then forced to work to survive. We have no choice to give up our time in exchange for money which has no value other then the fake belief of humans that it holds value. Also the fake bs at interviews to secure a job is a joke and god forbid your ever late in the morning to work and have to listen to colleagues who police what time you come in and say “afternoon”. Also after work drinks should be paid for by the company why are we expected to pay for drinks out of our own money we have gone to work and earn to spend on colleagues for “bonding with colleagues” which helps the company not us other than being out of pocket.
And the people who are mean to other working people are not happy. They just get a free pass being a jerk to others that way. Could you do another video on how people are mean to other people?

Nick, thank you for a new video about our favourite topic, the rat race. Have you seen Steve Cutt's short movies? Especially 'The Fall' is a brilliant one. It is about this topic of nonsensical work all our life. But the interesting thing in this short 2 minutes movie is that the childhood was the best part of our lives when we truly enjoyed our lives, everything was so exciting and we had so many different hobbies and activities. Maybe you can make a video about the topic of "childhood vs adulting" or the cruel transition from free-spirited childhood to enslaved adulthood. Something along those lines.
I be listening to you. I am going through the same existential crisis you are. Maybe we can help each other? Only people traveling through the same feet can help walk in each other feet? You know there is no way out of this. It is a prison. We have to maximize our experiences and values in life in the time we have it. That is all I think everyone is doing. We have to stop overthinking.
Yeah i don't know if i can fit into a job like i used to ever again. Once you take those chains off. It feels like you have gained alot of control back. Instead of trying to force yourself to like people. I got to just take some independent type job online and use that to go towards some type of financial freedom to save me from that drama for a bit. I have been enjoying doordash but did come with problems in the app itself. Stuff like stocking shelves maybe cool but you come to a point like do i really want to do this for the rest of my life? I think no but if there's drama stacked against me too. I'm probably out next week.
Hello Nick , I just got home from work and I’m in my tiny apartment and my fucking back hurts and I’m tired as hell. And the government taxes the hell out of my check and does who knows what with that money. I’m really living the American dream right?
even getting richer requires you to do the impossible in order to reach that point, it's just insane on so many ways how every single thing is rigged in this existence it's makes it unable for anyone to succeed, my only option i have right now is throw savings and most of the time it's hard to get money at all.
It gets worse with the houses and cars. The hoa, insurance, and taxes keep going up. If you're not working, you're sitting around gaining weight and affecting your health.
I consider myself progressive and usually us types do not believe in the gold standard but I can't help but notice the connection between the beginning of neoliberalism and the end of the gold standard. I believe it brought about what most progressives and socialists see as the biggest problem which is the extreme wealth inequality among classes. The end of your labor being worth anything. Before this period (end of gold standard/neoliberalism), a full time job was actually worth something. If you're 35+, your parents could tell you this. You can even see this as your maybe your parent never went to college but always was employed full time and was able to take care of you as a child. After Reagan and Thatcher put neoliberalism into overdrive, it was all over for the working classes. Amd maybe you hate me putting names to the problem but go look at when the gold standard ended and neoliberalism began. That is when it began. It's gone on since then with many different political persuations but that is when it began. It's not debatable. Anyway, I see this connection and can't help but believe in the gold standard. We're not going back to it as the elites have gotten used to their money now. And I can't help but see the crazy disconnect of everyone and everything.
