I am so old I remember the 10-19 1973 tie. Damn Oxford kicker.

Lol...I was born 12-11-1973. The kicker did not have a great life after those missed field goals.

@ I don’t wish that on anyone. But he was from the neighboring town that we didn’t like much.

His name didn't come out of the left field. They actually had mentioned him. It's only left field if you get your ear in a specific pool of influence - then it's "suuuuurprise"
The only way to assess his Bona fights as to a fit is how close he is already with the success. He's already head to what you're doing now - to that I'd say he's like 70%
So ask to the q b's that are already on the roster. The ones that definitely gotta go or Jack Tuttle and Davis Warren because those are unfixable - they just shouldn't have occupied a bench.
The ones he's got to focus on. Because they built a program around them. Now is the one who got character assassinated. Wrongly for not being able to pass when they built the program around him quick, then interrupted pre. Season snaps to bring in another quarterback. Because the QB coach stay promoted to OC. Could only work with pocket passers. That's what happened - So every play that Alex Orji got from Kirk Campbell were plays that was never gonna work in the first place because they weren't designed for his type of QB play.
So what we have to focus on is what he has done second work with the direction. Michigan has spent the last 3 years forging. That netted them a national championship victory.
SEC style RPO scheme but grounded in B1G smash mouth.. meaning, What they've done the last few seasons by employing a two RB, two TE system.
Having your scat back, but then having your power back to run out of the slot and toggle back and forth between your catching TE
That system netted big results and gave Michigan a reputation for being fierce. At the line of scrimmage, they need not depart from it. But they screwed up by promoting Kirk Campbell. So they lost ground a little bit, but the kids can see through the schism. And are still committing to Michigan. Hopefully, this guy won't blow it for them

I don't work within the program so I couldn't tell you if he's a good fit or not. I'm just glad they got a guy that seems to fit the culture and has a record coaching really good college QB's. Now let's go get a starting caliber QB, RB, WR, and OL through the portal.

I don't think we'll need RBs in the portal, probably our deepest room. Stack the OL and 2 elite WRs would be great for our offense! The defense will be losing A LOT to the NFL this year so hoping for top talent in the portal to help keep the defense cooking next year.

Get Miller Moss, Duece Robinson (to play TE), Javontay Cook ,the IU WR. I’m hoping that Nykoles Harbor enters the portal as well.

Michigan's success has been their ability to develop. Kirk campbell failed to develop Davis Warren. The kid actually got worse. I'm sure they've done their homework on what this guy brings to the table versus what they need.
The Troy stint is irrelevant BTW. They're hiring him to be a coordinator, not a head coach. the responsibilities of those two positions are worlds apart.

Do you know why Auburn fired him in 2018? I mean Auburn is kind of weird anyway... They like....expect somebody to be Superman without support or practicality and then turn on them if they don't live up to unrealistic expectations....but I'm just curious.... It's probably a great hire, especially for what Michigan wants to do. I certainly have not been following what he's done lately

Idk why nobody is bringing up the RedZone. (Probably bc they want to sell a lot of gold)
He’s had multiple seasons 25%+ FG percentage in the RZ. It’s why his YPG never match the PPG. He’s had multiple top 20 offenses with YPG but only one top 20 in PPG.
I think that has to do with his run scheme. Too much outside running. I hope Sherrone is involved and Michigan keeps its diverse run scheme.
Both coordinators not being recruiters is a choice.
I do like his creativity and his use of motion. Good balanced attack.

Fair points, tbh I did not look too deeply into all of the stats year in and year out. Will probably do a deeper analysis when I have time. Thanks for watching!

Sexy hires are not usually good. For MI two names. Rich Rod and that speed in space dude from Alabama whose name I forget. Rich Rod was a panic hire and he seemed sexy at the time given how App State tore through MIn. Yes I was at that game and we could not stop their offense. Slow and steady is great.
