This is great, and is exactly what this generation needs to keep the tradition not only going, but doing more than the previous generation who did what their dads and granddads did, simply because that's what their parents did before them. It's inspiring to see kids investing their souls into ag, and making it work.

There is no better education than a hands on application. I’m a retired school teacher and a former school board chairman and I had pushed for learning like this where the students design a project that encompasses the major parts of education (math, English, science, history) put it all together into a workable model. I was met with resistance everywhere I went as too many people think that teaching has to be one class at a time in a classroom with standardized tests at the end. I the 1700s a person would get an elementary education and then apprentice themselves to a tradesman for several years in order to learn a trade. Why did that have to end in favor of class after class that bored 50% of the students causing millions of young people to just give up on education? This style of learning could change the failure rate dramatically!!

Actually I was blessed to have attended an excellent school in the panhandle with a great ag program, I was in co-op ag because I was horsecrazy, and thought it could be a way for me to be involved with horses somehow. My dear ag teacher actually was encouraging and didn't ridicule my dream. He has graduated to Heaven, but Mr. Wilks was such a good teacher and really invested his heart into teaching the kids. If he was here today, I bet he would embrace your program and emulate it here. Thank you for for following your dream.

Truly encouraging and amazing to see these young people learning lessons for life! I've spent lots of time in Amarillo through the years for company business and have seen this community that looked to be deserted and ready to blow away. What a recovery, stoked by a vision shared by a real "teacher" and young adults willing to work hard, work together, listen and learn. Extraordinary young people! What your providing these students through this “learn by doing” experience is invaluable. Touched me deeply. It took me until I was 50 yrs old to learn that what I needed to succeed I had in place by the time I was going through high school. Keep up the good work. With Gratitude and Appreciation! 🙏❤️🙂

Amazing what young people can do when thrown out there and told to figure it out! 😊 They are capable of so much more than we think. Most of the time they are not given the opportunity. As a parent I’m guilty of that.

Awesome program. Keep it up. Don’t be afraid to ask ranchers to support you more there out there that want to help young kids achieve their dreams.
