Fortunately everything’s ok, I just took too many classes and the coursework ate up every scrap of my free time
@@ObscuraUndead OH OK 👍🏻 I was just wondering. Keep up the good work. Remember if you don't finish all your homework you can't play with your friends 🤣🤣🤣 jk & just have a good week.

College, I made the damn dumb decision to take four intense classes around a full time job. Big mistake. My life was work, school, sleep (sometimes), repeat.
Why does all this music sound AI generated to me? The rhythmic and melodic structure as well as the vocals are so redolent of the big bands from the 80s but with an even more synthetic and colder sound. This is not dark to me, it's just cold, synthetic and worn to death.
Note: In the 80s this music would have been groundbreaking. Now it's just copypasta.
AFAIK, none of it is ai generated. I think what you might be hearing is the effect that easily accessible DAWs have had on how music is recorded and mixed. When everything is programmed beat perfect it does really reduce the spark flaws can bring; plus generally speaking there is far less “space” between high and low tones in modern music, tho that’s in part to this whole loudness wars holdover. It tends to flatten the overall sound
Still, we make do with what we got on a week to week basis. And it’s interesting (at least for me) to listen to the trends and hear how people are expressing themselves. I have “more widespread return to analogue music making” on my bingo card this year. I’d love to add “willing to take creative risks”, but the music scene unfortunately doesn’t do much to foster space for that
