ive been looking everywhere for a problem ive been having with my system and yoivr answerd all my question in 4 minutes .ive watched over 20 other video with no results but youve help me in just a few minutes thank you again great video.
How do I turn on the LCD backlight for a keypad? One of my keypads used to be in the bedroom but now it’s located in the kitchen and I would like to have the LCD backlight on all the time; just like the garage keypad. Thanks in advance
Do you know how to factory reset a nx418 rf keypad
Is there a way to reset the master code? I bought a house with a 20 year old version of this system and don’t know the master code.

@@Escekar installer code was probably changed. Factory reset won’t work. What I did then was found a kit online that came with a new case and motherboard, just labeled the wires, took pictures and plugged in the new motherboard, then I was able to reprogram the board from scratch
@@Escekar I think I used JMAC supply to get mine, about $150-200 for a new board. For me it was worth it
@@starrywarz you sound very cleaver. In a panic when the alarm was screaming and scaring my kids. I was able to stop the alarm and stop the blue light on side of house from flashing??? This took about two hours (felt like two hours).
Now I’ve set the smoke alarm off again. I press some buttons and stopped it under 30 mins. But blue light on side of house is flashing..
Do you have any suggestions on what to press to stop it? I did it before without master code so it’s possible.. I just don’t know how I did it last time.
And information would be amazing.

@@Escekar I don’t have those blue lights or the smoke detection system as part of my security system, so I’m not really sure, but I would think that in order to resolve any alarm state you would want to put in a valid code. If you have the installer or master code (sounds like you don’t know it tho :/) you can use that code and or reprogram a new code into the system
How can I mute it? We have a malfunction in a detector an it is driving us crazy with that beep every minute
Thank you for your comment and sorry for the delay. We are not on RUclips very often. You can stop trouble beeps by entering the master code, however the trouble will return if the issue is not resolved. Let us know if you have any additional questions. Thank you.
How do you delay the alarm in say 3 sectors?
That would be something that has to be done in dealer programming. This would typically require a local dealer. If you're in the East Tennessee area we can take care of this for you. If you're not, you can contact Napco directly to find a dealer in your area.
I know this is year 2015 video, but this video is not reliable cause some instruction is not true or friendly user. Specially the bypass, where you can hit * and scroll up and down to point the zone which device you've trying to bypassed. Next is typing the code and hitting STAY mode. You mess the arming of the system, cause when you punch your code the system recognized that it's arming on exit mode or away. But hitting STAY mode is arming the system by STAY mode only. Not unless you have partition zones then that's the time you type your code and chose which partition you're arming and then press STAY or EXIT.
Thank you for your feedback. We do these videos specifically for our customers and how we program their systems so there will be some differences with systems that we haven't installed/programmed as many of the features can be modified in programming.
