      It looks like the Cowboys are starting a high school kid at quarterback. The Cowboys beat you guys 30-6 earlier when both teams had their starting quarterback. At even strength you were no match.

    Love watching those old Redskin highlights to go back in time and remember what this team used to be and stand for. Can't come to grips with the Commanders these days with their poor ownership. Just isn't the same unfortunately.

      Totally forgot about the Baseball in D.C. banner. Blew my mind they as a kid they didn’t have one, and that they’d somehow lost 2 in my Dad’s lifetime before I was born.
      I later read that shortly after the Arlington move, the Orioles took all mentions of Baltimore out of their marketing and uniforms so they could more easily regionalise without worrying about any interference from a D.C. club.

      It was a psychological tactic knowing the Cowboys rarely wore blue unless for a Thanksgiving game. That was real football full contact...things changed but not for the better. $$$$ rules these days more than ever.

    • @IcedEarth426
      @IcedEarth426 Год назад +1

      tbh I think it was a mistake to get rid of him. Williams was never really a consistently good QB. Yeah, he had one magical quarter in the Superbowl and that can never be taken away from his resume, but outside of that he was never really *that* great at that point in his career. Plus he was old and injury prone at the time that he replaced Schroeder. He played, what, one more year before he retired? I mean, it worked out for the Skins with Rypien, but I do wonder if Jay would have been a better long term investment overall.

    • @JMoore68
      @JMoore68 Год назад +2

      @@IcedEarth426 Doug Williams took the Tampa Bay Bucs to the NFC Championship. He was a very good QB, on a all time horrific team. However, he was old and his best years were well past him at this point. Now, if you want to talk about inconsistent, that was Schroeder in a nutshell.

    • @thedetshow3610

    Jay Schroeder is one of the most underappreciated Redskins ever - he was a great QB, won a lot of games for the Redskins and definitely deserves to be considered one of the great Redskin quarterbacks right behind Baugh, Jurgensen, Theismann, Kilmer, Williams and Rypien, and one of the 90 greatest Redskins of all time

    • @rjam1974

      @@rjam1974 I totally agree. He is one of my favorite skins if all time. It seems when Redskin fans hear his name, they groan. One of the things that hurt his legacy was the 1987 America's Game episode. Doug Williams talks really bad about him. Such a shame.

    Why are you butchering these full games down to 10 minutes?

    • @RetroSkins
      @RetroSkins  Год назад

      “Butchering” seems a little harsh.
      But, to address your concern - as time has progressed since the start of this channel the highlight videos have become longer as your pal RetroSkins gets more familiar with editing tricks and a better feel for how a full highlight reel comes together. As such, the more current videos are generally running 30ish minutes, which feels like a good length.
      It would be MUCH easier to post unedited complete games (editing the highlights takes hours / game). But the point of this channel is to provide more condensed flashbacks (not everyone has time to watch 2+ hour videos, and RUclips provides analytics that demonstrate most viewers sign off quickly).
      Also, full length games at the high picture quality we strive for would be prohibitively large in terms of file size (not everyone has an unlimited data plan to watch 8-10 GB videos).
      If you are interested in watching full length games, there are plenty on YT to watch. Videos on this channel are not derived from YT videos posted by others, but come from a personal collection of recordings that predate the digital era, amassed and stored with time, care and dedication. RetroSkins is very protective of this collection, and offers no apologies regarding how much (or little) is to be shared. If that’s not satisfactory, the “Up Next” button is at your disposal.
