The nails! My pooch Georgia *hated* having her nails trimmed. She was very, very good for her baths whether I was bathing her or I took her to the groomers. They loved bathing her, but they didn’t love trimming her nails. She never bit anyone, if she did the groomers never told me, but she did snap at them once that I’m aware of. No one figured out why she hated her nails being trimmed; she was a rescue that I got from the Baltimore County Rescue Shelter and we think that whoever had her before she wound up in the shelter and before she became my best buddy probably hurt her badly when trimming her nails and so she was always scared of it. She was definitely a highly abused dog when I got her, but she still wanted to love and be loved, and I had five wonderful years with her before her diabetes finally defeated her. She’s been gone for five years now and I miss her every single day. Every time I come home and she’s not laying on the kitchen floor waiting for me to open that door hurts my heart. I miss her. Funny story, should anyone read this comment - I loved eating Big Cheez-Its and so did she. I’d have one or two and give her one, having another couple or a few, give her one, you get the idea. Well, I came home one day and noticed that she had half of her body under my bed, with her butt, tail, and rear legs not under the bed. I wondered what the heck she was doing, and then I heard her chewing. Yup, that turd snatched the box of Big Cheez-Its, pushed it under the bed, chewed it open, and was having herself a feast! That dumb dog thought that she was being sneaky! 😂
Lord, how I miss having a dog! Life is so much more enjoyable when you’ve a furry best friend to share it with. My daughter has a cat but that’s just not the same - some times Hades acts like he’s my buddy and wants attention and then others times he acts like he’s never even seen me before. A pooch is always up for any adventure that their human wants to take them on, unless that ‘adventure’ is a trip to the vet of course!
