I disagree with the lawyer. Pilot suicide is not 'low hanging fruit'. It's a very serious allegation, and not one made offhandedly by investigators. The problem is that in flight simulations following the crash, when over 200 different mechanical failure scenarios were tried, not one fit the final rapid descent that was picked up on radar. The only scenario that matched the flight path picked up on radar was sustained pilot inputs. Combined that with the fact that the two black boxes stopped recording over 10 minutes before the plane hit the Musi River, and that they did not fail simultaneously as you would expect from a short circuit or surge in power, and you have a likely scenario that the two black boxes were disabled deliberately by someone in the cockpit. The evidence for the pilot suicide theory was circumstancial, I agree. And there's also that nationalistic bias where people might be unwilling to admit or accept that their countrymen, colleague, father, boss etc. would commit such a heinous act. But on the other hand, the alternative theory that the plane was brought down by a rudder hardover event doesnt even line up with the plane's flight path, or that the plane was unrecoverable because of a rudder hardover.
I stand with NTSB final report that the pilot deliberately manoeuvred the plane into the Musi River. The interview of the defence lawyer for Silkair makes this interview innately bias!
@@seananlinjunxi868 Nope, this was a case of pilot suicide. The elevator trim was in the full nose down position, the NTSB and NTSC tested more than 20 different scenarios in a flight simulator and the only scenario that matched the radar path of flight 185 was if the pilot intentionally rolled the plane over onto its back and put it in a dive. Had this been caused by a rudder failure then the trim wouldn't have been in the full nose down position and the radar path would have been consistent to a rudder hardover on the flight simulator. Lastly, in the 3 previous cases of a rudder hardover it was due to thermal shock where the Power Control Unit wasn't designed to be subjected to very hot temperatures from very cold temperatures; in Silkair 185, this is an entirely new case because it involves a rudder hardover due to a manufacturing defect. Also, the relatives of the victims of Adam Air flight 574 believed the crash was due to a rudder hardover but was actually due to poor pilot training.
This flight is the reason why my family were avoiding to travel with silk air. My family were assuming that silk air might ignored their crew mental health check up. Deepest condolences to the victims of the crash

They don’t drown, the high impact to the river likely make it such that they hit like a concrete which is why the plane blown into small pieces. If the plane are in small pieces its very likely humans in the cabin are broken into pieces upon impact.

Unlike birds , airplanes were never meant to fly in the skies . It needs only one thing to malfunction and you could have a domino effect that could make everything go horribly wrong . the high court can just dismiss the case, when the family is trying to seek answer or trying to find someone accountable for it? How?
Isn't this an aircraft accident that is caused by a pilot who is a former RSAF pilot?
it wasnt the pilots fault, it was boeing's. That plane model (B737) was known to have rudder issues
Understand the pilot commit suicide .. if you read western report but the goment have different report .. its ok it just a report

When the plane nose dive crash there is always no bodies will intact. All crush to pieces
So nothing was said about the cause even though that might be disputed. The title was wrong and misleading.
That was my feeling too. Singapore's half past six writers are not particularly strong at choosing apt titles. I've noticed that for too long.
