A lot of the time its the fact they have gone thru so much tragedy that makes someone choose kindness. People react to trauma differently, some get angry and aggressive, some close themselves off, some get stuck in depression and inactivity. But some few learn to cope with a negative experience by trying to become a better person because of it. No judgement anyone with how they deal with things, everyone is going thru their own struggles and dealing with it as best they can, but I think choosing to treat tragedy as a learning experience or even a 2nd chance at things, is a healthier option than most.

I cannot imagine the pain from a betrayal by someone you considered close. Mel is one of the kindest and gentle vtuber you can find in the vtubing industry. She had the worst start with rl stalking for an extended period of time and took hiatus. She really tried her best since last year which she streamed very very often, felt she was trying to get her 1 mil sub but alas such is fate. I miss you mel.
Where did this betrayal narrative come from? All we know is that management found out that Mel was talking about work-related things that she wasn't allowed to with a friend she trusted because she was stressed.

We called her as Cinnamon Roll of hololive when coco meme review come, because it is what it is. In fiction, there is always a kind and lovely girl who always get the bad luck, comedically or tragically. And that was Mel. She's going through so much. Man... i just want to hug her tight and said its ok.
While I’d absolutely love to see Mel eventually return to streaming somehow, I do hope she does what she needs to to take care of her mental health. Girl seriously had it rough.
I wouldn't say she's a misfortune magnet at all. Vile creatures in human skin see the kindness and generosity of a genuine person like Mel and think only of how they can exploit that kindness to take what they want and get away with it.
This is kind of true. Everyone is surrounded by malicious, heinous people but we tend to either push them away and we shut ourselves in as a defense mechanism. Being highly skeptic of everyone is a way to keep us safe and at some point we stop letting people in full stop. Good natured people tend to believe in the good nature of others and end up letting in a lot of wolves in sheep's clothings.
As sad as this was, at least the termination seemed relatively peaceful with both parties reaching an understanding and agreement. Plus, compared to the ends of other VTuber careers recently, Mel had a long one. She overcame many hardships and obstacles and enjoyed a long career as a beloved member of Hololive. Through all the misfortune and struggles, she kept smiling for her fans and found time to collab with and help other members of Hololive new and old. This speaks to an inner strength of character that is truly admirable. She made a lot of people happy from 2018 to 2024, and although her career is over, she will be warmly remembered by fellow members of Hololive and her adoring fans. Honestly, compared to other terminations/graduations, this one doesn’t sadden me as much, because I have a feeling that regardless of what the future holds for Mel, whether she goes back to her old account or decides to go in a new direction, I think that whatever she decides to do, she’ll be alright. She has the strength to carry on.
I still feel reallllly sad for Mel in all this.... I know she had some minor drama at one point.. but she really seemed to be super on the level, and really seemed very approachable and caring of her fellow talents... Mel-chan.... i really do hope you recover soon from it all and that you can fill the hole left with your cat passing.
It's always infuriating to hear about cases like this... The first person who goes through it always gets the short end of the stick and the most they usually get is "We're really sorry this happened to you, we'll do better next time" like that really makes a difference

The difference between Mel and Rushia is telling by how the other talents reacted to the news. Most of the talents were really sad when they heard that Mel was terminated and wished her all the best. When Rushia was terminated it was more of a "It's not a big deal the rest of us are still here" vibe, like they didn't really care.

I started watching her just after her Genius Idol 3D live. She talked about her plans in the next stream, what she wants to do, etc. She started playing horror game which she ends shortly while calling Fubuki for help, she collab Party Animals, Valorant, VCR GTA and my personal favorite, Tabletop game with fellow Holomems. It really feels like she is starting to pick up steams. But then the news happen. Sad that I don't know her sooner. Wish her luck on all her future endeavors.

2020 was imo the biggest struggles ive ever witness in vtubing and its the year i feel in it. one of those struggle were Mel's. I've seen a few lives of her and mostly knew her from clips. its really sad that the end of her journey in Hololive is unfortunate. i hope that almost 5 years of being meant something and she continues to move forward

She had to put up with so, so much, and was a trooper through it all. Wasn't surprised to hear the problem was coming from inside the company; that's kind of a common thing in cases like this. Like it's an idol company, there will be freaks that apply to work there to get at the talents in a gross way. Even Nijisanji had a problem with serial stalkers / harassers in their office staff. Hololive, as far as we can tell from passive observation, seems to have done a better job of screening staff and catching things before it gets out of control.
Probably one of the reasons they still don't have new studio up and running is that they need to do heavy screening of people who would work there. Not to mention that it isn't easy to find people competent in this pretty niche technology.
It was also the main reason why they implemented the policy (for a year or however long it was) of managers needing to be the same gender as the Vtubers they manage
One thing a lot of the other hologirls would say consistently about her was how nice and welcoming mel was. Especially the en and id girls. She will be missed

From sexual harrassment to getting stalked on to managerial abuse but the one to destroy her job was a "friend" betrayal. I hope Mel's mental state wont go so bad like how it did with Delutaya. Being betrayed by the person you trusted is the worst feeling. Now that shes no longer in the company means shes no longer protected and its quite worrying what might happen to her with all those stalkers still on the loose. I hope the girls checks up on her from time to time. She should consider joining Vshojo and do her streams in Twitch, at least that platform is much tolerable for her kind of content.

Late to this vid since it only comes up when I searched for Gamma's termination, but gonna leave my 2 cents here anyway. From the times I was able to watch her, she is full of kindness, determination and talent. A true genius. Despite her endless struggles, she still managed to release her original album, a feat that very few Holomems managed. In another world, she could easily be another Marine. Really hope that this would be the last of her major misfortunes, and that she will eventually, with her kindness, determination and talents, come back happier and more successful in her future activities. We will fondly keep remembering her for a good long time, that's for sure.

Outside of covers administration simply means that the manager (some sources say it is a female) was sending messages from outside covers ability to stop (VPN, library, manga cafes) they also unfortunately couldn't vet someone that has never been caught doing something like stalking or harassment. It would be so much better if we could.

I agree that RUclips used to be relaxed back in the old days and now they’re kind of strict. The one gaming crew I used to watch (and still watch today) would used to make vulgar jokes nonstop and use a whole variety of music in their videos when they’re making montages. Now a days, RUclips would demonetized anyone who makes those jokes or lewd acts and would give people copyright strikes which kind of sucks.

Legally it's not like they had much choice since it's an NDA breach.

You can't play loose with contracts. Do it once, and every other contracted worker (incl. talents and managers) will question the value of the papers they signed. Not to mention rabid fans who demand preferential treatment from then on.
Unfortunately, JP's NDA law is no joke, according to some people. Probably stricter than US. While Mel is understandably an unfortunate accident hence the amicable atmosphere from Cover, it's a miracle that Rushia was able to leave free after all that fiasco.

None of us are happy about Mel being terminated. One of the reasons I think Cover had no choice but to terminate her is in relation to Rushia's termination. What Rushia did was much worse than whatever happened with Mel (nevertheless they both broke the NDA in some way), but if they decided to not terminate Mel it would show that they were playing favorites and that it would give the girl behind Rushia reason to sue them. That's just my thought though I could be wrong.
This is so sad. While I never watched her channel directly, I've seen her in many clips and collabs etc. with other members, and she's always been an important member of Hololive. Honestly I think she should've been given another chance given how Hololive previously let her down with the manager incident.

I never really followed Mel. My impression of her is basically the quiet and cute girl that was once hurt by aggressive stalking activities. However still very sad to know her contract had to be terminated. I cannot imagine how much pressure and anxiety she had to go through. I do miss Mel alot. Mel was going through alot of stress after her pet died, and thought she found someone to talk about it. That information made it back to Hololive, resulting in her termination. I get why and that she shouldn't have said anything to a third party, yet the termination feels so unnecessary. As a result so many people are feeling so hurt. Ayamy mama is heartbroken, yet still reaching out to Mel's following. I was in her stream from the intro and Ayamy mama was crying for 40 minutes straight, as she told her side of the story, that Ayamy became a vtuber just to be there for her daughters (she's that attached to her creations/kids). Choco being her partner (I was a big fan of ChocoMelty. Guilty.) Lost Mel. The Pakumin losing their oshi. But the aftermatch was horrible too. You have some emotional pakumin and mostly the niji-anties looking in her playlist of "who is this friend that reported the information back to Hololive" and started to harress one of the most kind Niji talents (Kotoka), just because she had an off-collab with Mel recently, no further evidence. I don't think it will ever happen and that Mel after a long rest most likely returns as Rica. But if Hololive could lift this termination and let Mel return, I hope she still wants to return. Yes she leaked info, but this was during a very vulnerable moment in her life, it was an honest mistake on her part and Mel deeply regrets it.

I cannot imagine the pain from a betrayal by someone you considered close. Mel is one of the kindest and gentle vtuber you can find in the vtubing industry. She had the worst start with rl stalking for an extended period of time and took hiatus. She really tried her best since last year which she streamed very very often, felt she was trying to get her 1 mil sub but alas such is fate. I miss you mel.

All we know is that management found out that Mel was talking about work-related things that she wasn't allowed to with a friend she trusted because she was stressed.

I could just as easily claim that management checked Mel's private DMs because she has a history of leaking information to drama tubers when under work-related stress (she told Narukami about her stalker manager and management refusing to do anything about it, which is how the story broke) as you can claim that Mel's friend randomly reported her to Hololive management out of nowhere for no reason.

I wouldn't say she's a misfortune magnet at all. Vile creatures in human skin see the kindness and generosity of a genuine person like Mel and think only of how they can exploit that kindness to take what they want and get away with it.
This is kind of true. Everyone is surrounded by malicious, heinous people but we tend to either push them away and we shut ourselves in as a defense mechanism.
Being highly skeptic of everyone is a way to keep us safe and at some point we stop letting people in full stop.

As sad as this was, at least the termination seemed relatively peaceful with both parties reaching an understanding and agreement. Plus, compared to the ends of other VTuber careers recently, Mel had a long one. She overcame many hardships and obstacles and enjoyed a long career as a beloved member of Hololive. Through all the misfortune and struggles, she kept smiling for her fans and found time to collab with and help other members of Hololive new and old. This speaks to an inner strength of character that is truly admirable. She made a lot of people happy from 2018 to 2024, and although her career is over, she will be warmly remembered by fellow members of Hololive and her adoring fans. Honestly, compared to other terminations/graduations, this one doesn’t sadden me as much, because I have a feeling that regardless of what the future holds for Mel, whether she goes back to her old account or decides to go in a new direction, I think that whatever she decides to do, she’ll be alright. She has the strength to carry on.
I still feel reallllly sad for Mel in all this.... I know she had some minor drama at one point.. but she really seemed to be super on the level, and really seemed very approachable and caring of her fellow talents... Mel-chan.... i really do hope you recover soon from it all and that you can fill the hole left with your cat passing.

The difference between Mel and Rushia is telling by how the other talents reacted to the news. Most of the talents were really sad when they heard that Mel was terminated and wished her all the best. When Rushia was terminated it was more of a "It's not a big deal the rest of us are still here" vibe, like they didn't really care.

I started watching her just after her Genius Idol 3D live. She talked about her plans in the next stream, what she wants to do, etc. She started playing horror game which she ends shortly while calling Fubuki for help, she collab Party Animals, Valorant, VCR GTA and my personal favorite, Tabletop game with fellow Holomems. It really feels like she is starting to pick up steams. But then the news happen. Sad that I don't know her sooner. Wish her luck on all her future endeavors.
I knew about the manager stuff from friend conversation, but I always thought that Mel was a sweet girl. But to think she was the Kamijou Touma of Hololive and has trouble at significant moments is heartbreaking.
I really feel bad for Mel. I knew about the harassment stuff sadly but I didn't know it got beyond that. Rica made her comeback stream today and although i couldn't understand much it was good to hear her voice and i hope she does well in the future, the ending bgm of the stream almost brought a tear to my eye and glad she can still use it.

2020 was imo the biggest struggles ive ever witness in vtubing and its the year i feel in it. one of those struggle were Mel's. I've seen a few lives of her and mostly knew her from clips. its really sad that the end of her journey in Hololive is unfortunate. i hope that almost 5 years of being meant something and she continues to move forward

She had to put up with so, so much, and was a trooper through it all. Wasn't surprised to hear the problem was coming from inside the company; that's kind of a common thing in cases like this. Like it's an idol company, there will be freaks that apply to work there to get at the talents in a gross way. Even Nijisanji had a problem with serial stalkers / harassers in their office staff. Hololive, as far as we can tell from passive observation, seems to have done a better job of screening staff and catching things before it gets out of control.
Probably one of the reasons they still don't have new studio up and running is that they need to do heavy screening of people who would work there. Not to mention that it isn't easy to find people competent in this pretty niche technology.
It was also the main reason why they implemented the policy (for a year or however long it was) of managers needing to be the same gender as the Vtubers they manage

From sexual harrassment to getting stalked on to managerial abuse but the one to destroy her job was a "friend" betrayal. I hope Mel's mental state wont go so bad like how it did with Delutaya. Being betrayed by the person you trusted is the worst feeling. Now that shes no longer in the company means shes no longer protected and its quite worrying what might happen to her with all those stalkers still on the loose. I hope the girls checks up on her from time to time. She should consider joining Vshojo and do her streams in Twitch, at least that platform is much tolerable for her kind of content.

From the times I was able to watch her, she is full of kindness, determination and talent. A true genius.
Despite her endless struggles, she still managed to release her original album, a feat that very few Holomems managed.
In another world, she could easily be another Marine.
Really hope that this would be the last of her major misfortunes, and that she will eventually, with her kindness, determination and talents, come back happier and more successful in her future activities.
We will fondly keep remembering her for a good long time, that's for sure.

Outside of covers administration simply means that the manager (some sources say it is a female) was sending messages from outside covers ability to stop (VPN, library, manga cafes) they also unfortunately couldn't vet someone that has never been caught doing something like stalking or harassment. It would be so much better if we could.

I agree that RUclips used to be relaxed back in the old days and now they’re kind of strict. The one gaming crew I used to watch (and still watch today) would used to make vulgar jokes nonstop and use a whole variety of music in their videos when they’re making montages. Now a days, RUclips would demonetized anyone who makes those jokes or lewd acts and would give people copyright strikes which kind of sucks.
To think all of the bad things happened because some vile people took her kindness as an act of weakness and hit her there😢

Legally it's not like they had much choice since it's an NDA breach.

You can't play loose with contracts. Do it once, and every other contracted worker (incl. talents and managers) will question the value of the papers they signed. Not to mention rabid fans who demand preferential treatment from then on.
Unfortunately, JP's NDA law is no joke, according to some people. Probably stricter than US. While Mel is understandably an unfortunate accident hence the amicable atmosphere from Cover, it's a miracle that Rushia was able to leave free after all that fiasco.

None of us are happy about Mel being terminated. One of the reasons I think Cover had no choice but to terminate her is in relation to Rushia's termination. What Rushia did was much worse than whatever happened with Mel (nevertheless they both broke the NDA in some way), but if they decided to not terminate Mel it would show that they were playing favorites and that it would give the girl behind Rushia reason to sue them. That's just my thought though I could be wrong.

Mel was going through alot of stress after her pet died, and thought she found someone to talk about it. That information made it back to Hololive, resulting in her termination.
I get why and that she shouldn't have said anything to a third party, yet the termination feels so unnecessary.
As a result so many people are feeling so hurt. Ayamy mama is heartbroken, yet still reaching out to Mel's following. I was in her stream from the intro and Ayamy mama was crying for 40 minutes straight, as she told her side of the story, that Ayamy became a vtuber just to be there for her daughters (she's that attached to her creations/kids).

But the aftermatch was horrible too. You have some emotional pakumin and mostly the niji-anties looking in her playlist of "who is this friend that reported the information back to Hololive" and started to harress one of the most kind Niji talents (Kotoka), just because she had an off-collab with Mel recently, no further evidence.
I don't think it will ever happen and that Mel after a long rest most likely returns as Rica. But if Hololive could lift this termination and let Mel return, I hope she still wants to return. Yes she leaked info, but this was during a very vulnerable moment in her life, it was an honest mistake on her part and Mel deeply regrets it.
