- For the first time, Manly Hall's 1959 lecture on the book, Etidorpha, can now be heard. This newly re-mastered audio recording was digitized directly from the original 1/4" magnetic analog audio tape.
"'Etidorhpa: The End of Earth' - The Strangest of all Esoteric Novels" was spoken on Wednesday night, December 9th, 1955 at the Philosophical Research Society. The lecture was accompanied with slides of images from the book, drawn by illustrator J. Agustus Knapp, the artist of the color panels in Manly Hall's magnum opus, 'The Secret Teachings of All Ages'.
Etidorhpa is a strange tale of a journey to the middle and even the end of the earth, which symbolically represents a personal journey into the underworld of our own inner lives.
at the beginning, Hall attributes "Shape of Things to Come" to Jules Verne, but was actually written by H.G. Wells

Had the pleasure of attending in person a public lecture by Manley P. Hall. He had an amazing memory and used no notes that he ever referred to, and like this lengthy lecture, no pause or gaps in the oral dialogue - very impressive!

Actually, MPH gave thousands of public lectures over the years at the Philosophical Research Society location in Los Angeles.
The created ambiance of those lectures was in the vast library space, and seated guests would find themselves surrounded during the lectures by thousands of rare books from floor to ceiling. You might want to Google (images) of the PRS library and its interior for fun and getting a sense of the mystical import the entire experience was like. Thanks for the kind words.

I can't recall a secret society that was benevolent... They have all been malevolent hence the reason for the secrecy - like the secret Talmud...
That was only true back then because information travelled much slower than now...

@@kellikelli4413 I will admit that any organization that meets in secret and is free from accountability from the other parts of society have a tendency to succumb to all sorts of depravity. Since we don’t know what they do when they meet in secret our imaginations can make up all sorts of worse case scenarios. However these groups will still just be a reflection of the society at large. Evil in = Evil out. Some groups would have been formed specifically to do shady stuff in secret with only a thinly veiled cover story. Some will have been formed with righteous intention but then fall victim to the temptations that come with no accountability. So although 9/10 I agree with you, the concept of a mystery school is something I think has value. I believe The ancient mystery schools is what the secret societies evolved from. You can find them in every culture essentially. It’s also where guilds came from. A place where specific knowledge is held and one can go through an initiation to gain access to that knowledge, practice and learn and become an adept or master in that field. The way that education has become dogmatic and the government’s tendency to control what truth is, I like the idea of an organization that exists independent from society that holds on to old wisdoms and allows for initiation into those mysteries. The secrecy or separateness of that school/organization/society etc gives it a certain protection. So I’m not blind to what evils men can get up to when they meet in the dark of night, I also come from an indigenous culture where initiation into the mysteries is part of the right of passage. (West African forest cult) it is a secret society, it is a mystery school, the society at large know they exist so it’s not like suppler duper secret but they believe the knowledge and wisdom they preserve and pass down should be earned instead of freely given (initiation trials must be performed to rise through the ranks) despite what you or I might feel about how available ancestral wisdom should be to the public, I think there is room for a relatively righteous and positive secret society to exist. In my cultures case the society performs a function in the community so they aren’t completely unaccountable. It’s a healthier set up then like a ruling class Illuminati type society. They are down in the dirt with everyone else. In my case they are actually living in the forest.
I started the mysticsm journey with MPH over 10 years ago. I stumbled onto Rudolf Steiner (anthroposophy) and then Hermetic teachings by The Alchemist. Love this journey!
I did as well, right around the same time. I think it was about 2012 ish when Manly P Hall found me. Time really flies! ⏳
Steiner kind of spooks me for me some reason I can't nail down. 🤔 It's weird.
I started with Eckhart Tolle and Peterson (i know right) some quantum physics (that I barely grasp) and took a very long route here 😂 😅

Without going back to my source I believe it was known that Lloyd was a botanist were the journal Lloydia comes from. It been suggested that psilocybin mushrooms were involved and he didn't want to reveal the truth. Freemasonry has many connections to Mithrasium. 🍄

I read this book last year. It was a fun read but it was like listening to Bad Religion for the first in the 7th grade , I really needed a dictionary! For the first 150 pages at least once a page I was looking up the definition of a word I never heard of because John Uri Lloyd’s vocabulary is crazy good and mine sucks. It was so much fun at the story is bananas!

Its odd listening to this amidst the fools parade we call New Year's Eve. We suffered a horrific wildfire right where I live less than ten years ago and the people still shoot their fireworks around dead trees and in the middle of a forest.
Humanity seems to crave its own destruction, and I can't wrap my mind around it. We have so much going for us and we won't even face the problems that could result in our demise as a species.
You are a real person in the midst of NPCs. For some reason, us reals are spread out geographically - probably to enable us to derive more value from the game.
But the point is, don’t waste your precious mental bandwidth on trying to understand those who look human but act anything but. Don’t treat them any differently, just know that you can’t understand them, because they don’t operate from the same foundation you do.

Wildfires are a naturally occurring phenomena and actually part of natural cycles for many species, there are even pyrophytic plants which rely on the fires. 10 years sounds like youre overdue for another one. Perhaps if humans desire to live in an area with wildfires it's best they adapt and prepare accordingly instead of building flammable homes and structures in the middle of it.

Mr. Demon Hall is certainly one of the masters of double talk. However, the framing and stage setting followed by his commentary throughout is worth admiring.

It is my favorite book of all the books I've read. If I were going to write a symphony (I am a musician) I would base it on this work. I was fascinated reading it and couldn't put it down. That was back in 1986. I got a version of the book that had a chapter at the end of the story of Admiral Byrd going to inner earth. I was happy to read that as well.
Etidorhpa is Aphrodite in reverse. Ever wonder why? If Aphrodite is the goddess of love, what must Etidorpha be.
If Aphrodite is the 'outer' goddess, then Etidorhpa might be that archetype of love which resides within our inner lives. Just a thought.

I heard during an interview with Jordan Maxwell that he inherited certain notebooks from MPH after his death, but then they where subsequently destroyed in a fire.
I called the PRS library, but could not get any information on MPH's will, last wishes or if this was true.

We hope at some point to finish the illustrated version of this lecture, but we do not have all the images Hall was describing...just the illustrations from the book.

Please get the facts correct. H.G. Wells wrote Things to Come.
Correct. Hall states, 'among others' which refers to other authors who wrote science fiction in the 1800s (ostensibly including Wells). Therefore, he may have conflated the two authors and their respective works. Verne wrote "Journey to the Center of the Earth" which has a similar title. Good catch, and I will make a note in the description.
