I used the safety pins with elastic hair bands last night for the first time and find it very uncomfortable because the bands were really riding up my pits and the pins were squeezing into them as well. I also love that you showed the bra tip b/c I hate strapless bras too. Thank you very much!
Thanks ladies! I should have added the funny story about the inspiration behind this HACK. I tried the safety pin - hair tie trick which resulted in a severely uncomfortable date night that had me so generally aggravated, I not only striped off the hair ties & pins but my bra and spandex too! Luckily, it was on the car ride home. 😘
I looped 2 to 3 soft hair elastic bands together (instead of just 1 like most videos recommend) before I added the safety pins at each end. Its more comfortable yet still provides stability.
I'll have to try both tips. I wore an off-shoulder top yester during a July 4th celebration. I wasn't comfortable because of the stupid strapless bra, and I gave up on trying to keep the blouse off my shoulders. A friend saw photos that I'd taken later with the top off the shoulder, complimented me, and asked why I didn't wear it that way at the party. I wish I could have worn it that way. I’ve watches similar videos but yours is the best. I went through 4 elastic bands pieces and I could not figure out the length of it. It was either too long or too short. And to be truely honest they were very uncomfortable. You could see I am not very crafty, Thank you for your video It explains it very simple.

Thanks a ton Yolanda. I think putting the elastic as high up as possible works best in most tops. I have a couple of tops that I put the elastic a bit lower and they don't "lay" quite as well as those I kept farther toward the top of the blouse.

I have this dress that I love, but the sleeves keep on slipping off my shoulders. I got it on Amazon. I would like to go to my tailor to have it altered, but this tailor, he's an old man. I only went to him to get my pink lace dress altered so it wouldn't look too much like an old lady dress. I also went to him to pick it up. If I go to him ever again, I will feel like I'm treating him like a slave. I don't want him to feel that way. When I first met him, he looked to be about 48 to 50 years old. But then, the day after my birthday, he told me that he was 73 years old. I don't wanna overwork that old man. He's probably gonna feel like I'm treating him like a slave. He's a very sweet and lovely guy. He's also one of my good friends. He loves to travel to Greece and the Dominican Republic. He enjoys playing beach ball. He also enjoys walking long distances, cutting down dying trees, and building sheds.
Kinda makes you wonder why these elastic bands aren't standard & built into all of these off shoulder blouses!
