- The BBC violated its own editorial guidelines over 1,500 times during the peak of the Israel-Hamas war, a report has revealed.
The study, led by British lawyer Trevor Asserson, highlighted a "worrying pattern of bias" against Israel across BBC platforms. It found that Israel was linked to genocide over 14 times more often than Hamas in the coverage.
Former BBC executive Danny Cohen has called for an independent inquiry, describing the situation as an "institutional crisis."
Jewish groups, including the Campaign Against Antisemitism, have also demanded a review, while Lord Austin accused the BBC of "high-handed arrogance" in dismissing concerns about its impartiality.

BBC World service news in the morning is now 75% "African" orientated in content. From the heavily accented anchors and correspondents. Personally sometimes they are difficult to understand for a non native speaker and english born! Another example of BBC trying to appease certain sections of British community and another failed effort at multicultralism. (except of course the world's Jewish community which bothers the BBC clearly)
@gordonspicer spot on. They've become so outward, they've forgotten who they are and who the majority of people watching (and paying for them) are. For an organisation so adept at being impartial and independent (albeit small c conservative) for so many years, it's amazing how tone deaf they've become - and in such a short space of time too

Never had one in my life, I'm 63. My mother did for a while mainly for the Christmas specials, morcome and wise and the like. I always tried to get home for Christmas, sometimes I couldn't due to operational constraints. But I like to think one of her best Christmas gifts was when I travelled from Brunei, Borneo via Hong Kong to Gatwick, down to Cardiff and up to the Rhondda valleys then rang the doorbell totally unexpected.
My brother opened the door and I just walked into the living room (a little dishevelled after Lord knows how many hours traveling). Her reaction was my best Christmas gift ever "Oh, my son, oh, my son" lots of hugs and kisses etc. I am the youngest son with two older brothers and a younger sister, all of whom I took total delight in taking the piss out of whilst I was there (I hadn't seen them for a year +). And they responded robustly 😂. One of the best Christmases of my life.
As traditionally happens. Women stay at home and get the Christmas dinner ready and the blokes go to the pub. I don't know if my father was really into the Christmas spirit or because he had his three sons around him but he drank way more than his normal two pints and ended up on gin and tonic with my middle brother. At dinner all he ate was the cabbage with numerous comments to my mother "oh Hazel, this cabbage is beautiful, beautiful" (input Welsh accent there). We put him to bed shortly afterwards, half an hour later "thump", back upstairs and he's fallen off the bed. Hoiked him back on and all was good. First time in my life that I have seen my father drunk. He wasn't one to show emotions, my mother was, perhaps he was pleased to see me as well.

Agreed 100%. I’ve never truly doubted the BBC until October 7th. I’m not Jewish, I’m an English Catholic. Extensive travel has taught me that none of them are entirely honest, especially when it comes to the British Empire where the British were generally popular are respected or as an Indian guy told me India enjoyed its longest period of peace under the British Raj and sometimes they were a bit brutal, but you have to remember the population was made up of the most war like people on the planet a good number of them from the various Stans. The BBC picks off whatever makes Britain look bad and ignores all the good stuff like the railways. Travel has taught me to be proud to be British.

As a ex British army warrant officer I’m disgusted with BBC reporting of the Israel Hamas issue. If anyone does not believe Israel look on IDF RUclips site and you will see what Hamas did.
