Watched this video and it broke my heart to know mable was no longer with you and that she is so similar to my own puppy right down to not liking the rain but found everything you demonstrated/explained really helpful as we're struggling a little during the day as she cries a fair amount
I got my pup Blue 2 wks ago at 9 1/2 wks old and was randomly pickin up tips from different videos before i came across yours. But anywho thanks for your videos, will continue to watch in order to get him a lil more mindful
Thanks for showing the footage of her actually alone. I have a 5month old CC my self and I haven’t actually left her alone. Someone is always home. She does get crated during the day and is let out every 3 to 4 hours. But I’m nervous of leaving her alone alone... I will start soon though. Hope you give out advice on that...
Alexandra H, thank you! I actually ordered a cheap indoor camera. I will try this. It’s so hard not to be excited to see her she’s so pretty! But I’ll try
I have a 3 month old Cane Corso female puppy. And I leave her in her kennel when I leave for a little bit. I have a Camera in the room that can see her cage and her in it. So I can watch and see what she is doing when I am gone. I can also hear her if she is barking and what not. I can talk to her through the camera to calm her down and get her to quit barking. Shell lay Down or chew on some of her toys. A cheap wifi camera is perfect for a cane corso puppy to check on her even when gone. It really helps train them to be good and quiet when you're not home.
My Cane Corso puppy just ran away but luckily my dad came to get her, I was terrified and crying. But she is okay now and I’m trying to teach her some simple stuff for when I tell her to go outside. Her name is Zora.
God, her crying brakes my heart 💔 it must have been quite a challenge to not give in, but wait for her to calm down on her own.. Hopefully I will have my puppy in about 1-2 years from now and I'm already trying to prepare myself for that by watching these videos 😂
OBSESSION It depends on your lifestyle and your environment if your looking for a house and family guardian a cane corso is the best choice if you live in a farm a dogo is great for hunting.
I have never had a dogo, but ive had corsos, and from what I've read, about the breeds, the dogo and corso are different personalities. So I guess whichever one you that suits your personality best. I absolutely love my corso and the breed, loki is my pup, he's 17 weeks and my 3rd corso. Let us know what you decide on, make videos! Id love to watch!
I had the exact same conflict, could not make my mind up, I ultimately went with the Cane corso, but I still want a Dogo Argentino, so Im leaning towards also getting one but it will have to be a Female Dogo to avoid fights between them. I can Imagine the puppies they will have, "Dogo Corsos."
I agree with, Loki cane corso let us know what you ultimately decide to get and upload videos. I got my Cane corso last weekend so I have had him for about a week now. Ill upload videos of him at some point.
I am really torn between cane corso, doberman and giant schnauzer! I live in a small apartment, I work full time (40 hourels per week) and the dog will be alone that time. Many people suggest me small apartment breeds but I am not into small breeds. Does someone have a cane corso and lives in apartment?
My 21 week year old puppy is biting my arms and wrists really bad and it’s starting to hurt a lot and I’ve been bleeding and getting cuts and my dad said that if It doesn’t get better he might get rid of him so you have any tips to help
You got to stop this action with a stern command,no hitting,no loud voice, look into eyes and let him/her know that to stop, refrain from playing at this time for them to know what they are doing is wrong
Hello just got my CC at 8 weeks old. He listen somewhat but I know it’s early but I was curious to how to potty train him in the house on mats because I can’t let him outside yet without his shots
All I did with my puppy was give him blanket from mum and his Ikea toy, put blanket over him and gave him a treat said good night and left him and from night one Ive never had any issues he sleeps 10pm till 6am every night and we only use it for bed time, my boy has had 0 training with the crate I feel it must be rare to have that kinda of situation.
I got a CC puppy exactly 1 week before you. She’s a little more confident than Mabel, but not what I’d call dominant. She’s good now in her crate and housetraining is progressing well. I’m following your training course as best I can. When you say you let Mabel play with Sully, what kind of play do you allow? If I let my puppy play with my other dog, all they want to do is play fight - nicely, but quite vigorously. It seems they’d chase each other about for as long as I’d let them. How do I manage this dynamic? I’ve been stopping them playing like this as I’ve felt it’s too hard on her young soft joints but its a constant battle keeping them apart. I have to keep her on a 3m leash whilst they are in the same room, which doesn’t stop her play and interaction with the surroundings and family, but whenever she postures playfully to my other dog he cant help himself from engaging and then I have to “ah-ah-ah” which eventually works - but it feels constant and doesn’t seem to be changing their excitable behaviour whilst indoors. Yes, it’s only been 2 weeks, but I’m wondering whether I should just let them play like this a bit each day so they can get it out of their systems. Or do I stick to my guns and stop that kind of play indoors? It just feels like I’m constantly having to give a quite negative command to both dogs who are both now looking for an opportunity to play like this whilst my back is turned. So: allow a bit of this play each day to let them get it out of their system and allow them to better familiarise themselves with each other with a view to that familiarity eventually making the play slowly ramp down over time...or stick to my guns and forbid it indoors to retain/achieve a calm household? I just want to make sure I start out on the right foot.
Please consider an alternative to rawhide. It’s only around 18% digestible, and you don’t want to start screwing up her GI system this early in her life
Dear Sir, thankyou for a highly informative video. I have watched many of your videos so far and have gained a great deal of information from all those I have viewed. My family and I are looking to introduce a Cana Corso to the household next year and as a result your video series is perfectly timed. Can you recommend any UK breeders of this beautiful animal?
Thanks so much for watching and I'm glad you're finding out videos helpful. Sadly we're unable to recommend breeders, we would recommend doing some detailed research into the best breeders for Cane Croso and considering things such as - whether you want them to be from a family environment, what level of training you are looking for, the health checks you wish to have been completed etc.
Will I have a couple of questions with hope that you'll answer 1.aren't you afraid that when she's bigger and you'll try to discipline her she'll attack you? 2.are you going to crop the ears? 3.are they(cane corsos) aggressive? 4.how much to feed an adult cane corsos? 5.what to feed(regular dog food, raw meat or a mix of a lot of things and if so please tell me what. I'm seriously thinking about getting one! But I just wanna make sure!. Thank you
@Chloe Downing I'm experienced with big dogs and I'm obsessed with big dogs. The dogs I want is either a kangal or a cane corso. They both have a veryyyyyyy calm personality But the kangal is way big and need lots of exercise that I cant fully provide. a cane corso fits with my life style! But something about that face just looks scary and idk If he'll attack me I want it soo much but I NEED to make SURE that I'll be the right owner!
@@dubizingler1548 Just curious, if you are worried that a dog will potentially attack you just by looking at what it's face looks like shouldn't you look at a breed more favourable to your eyes?
I’m hopping to get some advice from any and all willing to give it! My family and I are planning to buy a guard dog and Ive narrowed it down between a Cane Corso and a Rottweiler. I understand both will take time and patience to train but I’m wondering which one is better left alone. My parents are a bit older so it will spend most time with my sister and I. We have a large yard so I plan on taking it for long walks in the morning and afternoon and keep it around me when I’m home. I’m concerned about the times I wont be home, is it suitable to leave it for a few hours in the yard if we make a place for it with food and water? My questions is, which dog is better suited for this kind of lifestyle. I appreciate any and all advice!
Hey if you still need advice. I had rotts, they do well alone, but I raise a cane now and they are family oriented and will do well as well. What it comes to is the training you do to get her comfortable with the scenarios you will he constantly putting her through.
whats up We have a 18 week corso pup and see does good majority of the time not messing in her cage with my wife, but for some reason when i get home she's so excited to see me her tail goes to wagging and she will pee in the cage before i can unlock it and let her outside to go handle her business. I've tried ignoring her a few minutes hoping to stall the excitement but soon as I touch the cage latch she stands up and let out a little puddle and finishes once outside. She's normally in the cage between 3.5 to 4 hrs at a time with no accidents but, as mentioned before, soon as the latch is touched she lets loose. could you shed so expertise on this situation please?
I'd get a CC except for the drool. I watched a video on another channel of a mixed group of dogs at the dog park. The corso was one of the nicest dogs there but he had shoe strings of drool hanging out. It was too much. If they had a dryer mouth I would totally be in. Mabel is doing splendidly and i am coming to better understand your methods. Question- is Sully coming back home someday?
Stick your finger to the back of their gums or just shove you hand or fist in their mouth and that stops them. Doesn't hurt them but it does feel weird and uncomfortable for them. Worked Everytime with all of my dogs that had that problem
Shriek when the teeth catch you and retract your hand from them, then go back to playing. Five or six of those and they catch on fast. Hurting you = no play
Do you worry at all about creating a chewing habit when she's left alone? Or is this only to get her adjusted to being separated and once she's cool with being alone you can phase out most of the treats?
I have a large 11month old lurcher that I need to start separation training with asap. Should I have used a crate already. She always seemed too big to have a crate.
Hey Simon, thanks for watching! We'd always recommend create training and finding the best crate for your pup. We've got a number of different videos looking at create training that will be helpful
I wanted to share how important it is to get control and set boundaries at a very young age with the Cane Corso. I wish I had Will on this breed when my puppies were small. My Cane Corso 8 month old puppy was running down the hall, he ran into me and I fell hard on the marble top of my antique hall tree then as I hit the ground I dislocated my knee. My daughter came over and called the paramedics to put my knee back in and safely get me on my feet. My dogs came running to comfort me. This was not their fault it was mine for being to relaxed on early very important training. The Cane Corso is a muscled dog that is powerful. They don't know their strength. They are still amazing dogs. I just need to train more and more socializing.
I'd like to know where I can purchase the books that you advertise on this breed of dog? Because I to am considering having a cane Corso. I just love this breed of dog I don't wish to breed at any time I Just want it as a family pet. Been doing a lot a research as well as following a few of you guys blogs for more information and confirmation when it comes to this breed and I feel those books would help me in my journey. Thanks
We'd really recommend taking time off work when you first bring your puppy home. That way you can start training from day one and truly set your puppy up for success!

@@KimChi-iy7jd as soon as possible. I have a 20 week old Cane Corso boy. Absolute gem, I got him at 7 weeks, straight into my family of the wife 3 kids and a cat, also had 2 nieces staying with me at the time so straight into the noise. I brought him everywhere we went socialising with people. kept him away from dogs and dog areas until his vaccinations were done but as soon as was possible we had him walking on the school run then out to different parks and woods meeting other dogs and their owners. Now he is showing a fabulous temperament and is eager and respectful in how he engages with dogs and people. Myself and my family all are involved with his training and he sits, lays down, rolls over and recall is coming along good. The only issue I have but it's not a big one yet is his heal training, it's coming along but maybe it's just a little too much or I'm a little too full on at the moment. Overall I can't complain. This is a wonderfully receptive breed to training over all. Start as soon as you can. ps. he seems to have stopped puppy biting now too which was very intense to begin with, but doesn't seem to do any of it now. still chews the hell out of my kids shoes and socks when they leave them lying around though and I got a hell of a lot of chew toys, old shoes, clothes and other stuff for him which he does chew on but seems to be the more the merrier for him. Sorry for this being so long but I hope it helps.

Thanks
I dont recommend rawhide. But great video
Rawhide is only for the night-time?
How much is a small "Cane Corsor" plz.
It looks like if I get a puppy I can't go to work?
Guys The AE is lookin to get one of these Cane Corsos....can anyone refer me a reputable breeder...lookin for a nice Grey or Black one...thnx
So what if you had to work outside the house from day one, and had to be away for like 9 hours
We'd really recommend taking time off work when you first bring your puppy home. That way you can start training from day one and truly set your puppy up for success!
@@willathertoncaninetraining Thanks for your reply! Any readings or course recommendations for a first time dog owner before getting the puppy?
@@bozism007 We have a Perfect Puppy Course that you might find really helpful. It's a step by step course that takes you through the first year with your dog. You can find our more information over on our website: www.fenrircanineleaders.com
I don't have a problem with being consistent and my dog is in sync with me until the other humans are home. I'm having a hard time getting others on board which means I can't get my big powerful boy bc my spoiled chihuahua is going to be the role model for a pup...no ty
So cute my dalmatian a handful😅
How important do you think is socializing with other dogs? After her last shot, will you do that?
Mabel is beautiful 👍💜
That's really important wdym?
@@minagrujic jeah I was tired, my question should have been, when will you start to do it... which age...
@@bigbadrash782 hey thank you very much for your kandid reply! 🙏 I have experience with cane corso, but all were "grown up" already, me working at a shelter.
So I am vastly interested in how a came corso pupp does with other dogs during dog "childhood".
Thank you. 🙂
I got two corso boy puppies. Should I do training together or serparate them?
Separate is always best for training

Hi,I,m into cane corso also, got a 7month male, yes when they get attached, you have to ensure patience and consistency in all your activities,a word of caution is snacks, they sometimes swallow without chewing, then when those teethies start coming, they will chew on anything and I do mean anything, supervise carefully, good video, desperation anxiety with these dogs can be testing
What happen to your corso? I don’t see them in your vids now, I’m new to the channel..
She passed away at 4 months old, heartbreaking
Lilrick96 oh no :( that’s so heartbreaking, from what?

What was the podcast mentioned?
True geordie podcast tyson fury episode.
how old is she?
Maybe he already answer this..is he getting his ears cropped and the tail 🤔
He said no previously. It's illegal in the UK anyway. Also said he's unsure about breeding her in the future but will see how it goes. Hope this helps.
Oh I didn’t know it was illegal in the Uk, I did my Corso here in Chicago when he was 6 weeks old...thanks for the info
Raw hide is horrible for dogs. It can create intestinal blockages, and spread salmonella.
