If its possible I think KingsIsle should every once in a while, like every few months or even just once or twice a year. Have the old double garden rewards so people can still have a fairly easy time expanding their garden. Or at least make the more popular seeds (or every seed idk) drop more often or from more mobs/bosses.

Slight? What was the problem with double seeds? Explain to me? And dont use that stupid excuse that they were losing money. Trust me this community already pays for everything else - crowns and monthly memberships- and i'm telling you that double seeds attracted a lot of players. If they are losing money its certainly not cause of this because this benefit has been around for years!! They are losing money because they can't get new players to join the game. The only reason they are losing money is their greed, which doesnt allow them to make the necessary changes to save the game. So in an attempt to rob us even more than they already do, they remove double seeds to force players to spend 70 euros in crowns to have a garden, since farming evil magma peas takes weeks, if not months.
Because double seeds were pretty broken, unlimited seeds for anyone. If theres a slight chance you would probably have to farm the seeds, possibly buy some, and then you could gain extra seeds every double gardening

And they arent even announce so there is a chance you might miss it So lets say.. i start off with 10 evil magma peas. I happen to get lucky and harvest my garden during double seeds. Now i have 20. Later that year, the benefit comes back. I get 40 seeds. Only the following year would i have enough to fill a 69 bed of emps. And this is considering that i managed to harvest all my seeds during double seeds ( which doesnt happen, cause i've already missed it quite a few times). So do you think 2 years to get 69 emps is " unlimited seeds for anyone"? What i did in my 2 accoutns was farm for 35 emps in avalon ( because at the time empyrea wasnt around) and that took me weeks of farming for many hours a day. So no, it was not overpowered. At least this is my opinion. But still, what is the problem with getting " unlimited seeds"? What harm does it do? If everyone has access to double seeds that is not unfair or unbalanced.
Rodrigo Silva omg yes I agree with you so much!! I haven’t known about gardening until more recently. I have 16 couch potatoes, and it took me more than 3 days to get about 5 couch potatoes... so the fact that I have to rely on farming is kind of a turn off. I just want double gardening with seeds even just once a year which is all I want. But kingsisle doesn’t want that for players huh.

Damn, i recently came back to wizard101 and ive been starting anew, I cant believe ive missed out on double gardening and all that its really unfortunate, its gonna take ages for pet training and whatnot, Oh well i guess

I honestly don't mind the change. Yeah, it's annoying since I do have gardens that need to be expanded, but honestly... this is better than nothing. I get where they're coming from. As weird as it is that it was changed this late, it's no biggie to me. It could be a lot worse, and at least we actually get to see the benefit come back up again from time to time.
Ambermeow I don’t truly agree with the change because one for new players and two because I don’t have any use for double snacks since you just need to harvest your farm twice to get 2 snacks, but to get double seeds is almost impossible to do without farming constantly and endlessly, this change is better for players with thousands of seeds, but not for players like us with on 5-16 seeds.
It makes me sad for the newer players who didn't get the chance to do it before the change KI is going to die because they really didn't make it fare unless they lower the garden pack, and increase seed drops from bosses or else they won't get anymore money form people who are smart to stay away from the unfairness miss treat newer people while people who use DG Double gardening, when it came out and took advantage well I would of voted to close it completely.

Lord Saurgoth not really. The smaller wiztubers are still entertaining and funny, and while Blaze is cool, all he does is pack openings and harvesting. Unless you don’t want pvp content and you just want to watch the same person do the same things for several years, then u should check out others.
I started a new account at the beginning of the year. Of course it was before the extra character elixir (doh) but if I'd have known how hard it was to begin again totally fresh beforehand, I would not have done it. Pet training has been the biggest struggle and it's impossible under level 30 because it takes that long to get a good garden established even without mega snacks. All my pets got raised on shanta puddings with lots of gold farming at halfang with my max doing it. I feel so bad for new players but it's a good eye opener for me. I will never take them for granted again!
I haven’t played this game in yeaaarsssssss!!!!!! I’m 21 now used to play it when I was around 13/14 I think until I was 16
saaame, I just picked it back up for a month about 2-3 months ago :D

What if KI added in a 2x seed drop tc, it would be rare, maybe through a boss drop, Scroll of fortune, etc. ? Or maybe put a percent rate of possibly getting a 2x seed drop during 2x gardening?
I'm not as disappointed because I already have multiple gardens but it does suck for some of my friends who I recently got into gardening
I am ok on mega snack farming, but it sucks when you want to start a new farm for a new plant like star jewel...
This is ridiculous. Feels like KI is just trying to kill its own game now. Removing double seeds doesn't even make them more money, it just cucks the playerbase. They even try to say it was never intended. It's been in the game for almost five years. It's called double gardening for a reason. They also say it saves bank space. Why not just add a mass delete seed function, but instead, they remove double seeds. It's really quite frustrating. Why not just make everything up to marleybone free? One month of membership easily gets you past marleybone. And to top it off, they make wizard city free... for one week. They just make it harder and harder for new players to want to join the game, and I'm not even gonna talk about the crown deals.
Finally! Some1 who shares my opinion. I find brainwashed people EVERYWHERE saying it makes sense or that they should leave " a chance of 10% of getting a new seed". Double seeds is a must, it is what allows us to build our gardens. They are not losing money because of it, no they are losing money because they are greedy and dont implement the necessary changes to the game survive. We pay for everything already, so what harm did it do to have once or twice a year the chance of getting some seeds?

Honestly it does really suck. I started playing this game when I was super young, and I didn't know anything about it. Then more recently, I started playing it again, and really started working hard on the wizard I'd made as a kid. My next big plan for my wizard was to make big farms for mega snacks so that I could get a good pet, but... Something tells me that that isn't gonna happen now. At least not easily.

jewel circle blossoms have a small chance to drop a duplicate seed though so you might still be able to expand that garden

Damn, I didn't realise they removed the double seeds, i was holding onto a double gardening benefit elixir from years ago in preparation for when i had plenty of couch potatoes.
The sad truth is that they probably didn't even think of people lagging out their servers with farms or overflowing banks, but rather because they aren't getting almost any money from people buying seeds. From a business PoV, its a good move, but for the player base its gonna make maaany people mad :P

I feel when they bring back retired items that double gardening with seeds should be brought back during that time. And I'm still not done with expanding my garden as well so it would be nice to see that.

It seems like KI has removed the double reward for the mega snacks. You’ll get double on the lower snacks but the mega’s have been nerfed.

I've waited so long for a double gardening. When I saw the benefit, I got excited, then was told that it won't double seeds anymore. That's fine, since I have a bunch of seeds, but double gardening used to be my favorite member benefit in the game. I'd pay for a membership all year round, wait an entire year for double gardening, and the wait would all be worth it because I could double my garden. It was exciting to harvest all those plants. Now it's just... pointless. I don't need the doubled snacks, or any of it. I only cared about doubling seeds. They took one of the more fun and exciting parts of the game and ripped it apart. I'm done with this game.

I’ve had all my jewel plants give the next ones in the line so mine grew in size, I’m only missing the round blossom now. I’m up to 6 because of the one I got. It’s just way more tedious now 😂😂😂
I don't think the solution was to remove getting the seed back from the plant once it became elder but simply just have Double Gardening just give double rewards but either a low chance of getting 2 seeds back or it doesn't even give double seeds. Double Gardening only lasts 1-3 days and for the time it would take a plant to get to Elder again depends on the plant as it may not even get to Elder by the end of the bonus. This feature now defeats the purpose for me now harvesting my plants until double gardening is back because If I harvest everything I have I will having nothing left to plant and I won't be able to replant anything for more Mega Snacks or TC for Gold. The decision Kingsisle made for this I feel is extremely conflicting as you can no longer duplicate and expand your garden (which I can accept) but this prevents other players from having these impressive gardens that are almost useless as you may not be able to build back up that lot of seeds to farm considering drop rates are extremely low while at the same time it would be expensive and almost pointless to spend 1k Crowns to buy the seed again. For now I think all we can do is just wait for Double Garden to keep up the 175 plants we have in our houses.

They should have still double seed but instead of double gardening often, they do it twice a year so peoples gardens don’t grow massively as fast

There should be a W101C post that teaches how to stack Couch Potatoes (any large plot, basically) like that.
It involves using crates and a small wooden table, iirc.
There also might be YT videos of tutorials for this method of stacking.

Yep. Leveling pets is pretty much over with too. Now when a pet fails at epic or mega it will be terrible. All those mega snacks wasted.

Sadly n, probably the next best castle that a bonus would work, I hope KI makes more castles in the future that has bonuses.

Sadly no, only the Botanical Gardens and Red Barn Farm castles have the plant like boost.

I'm disappointed seed duplication is gone. That said though, I understand why they removed it and it makes sense. It will be tough for new players, which is the major downside, but they make it easier to get seeds in higher worlds. I would've enjoyed double seeds to stay as I'm doing a project that requires a significant amount of seeds(1000+) but it just adds more of a challenge I guess. I'm just glad that it's still in the game though. Side note for Blaze if he sees it, jewel seeds can duplicate by chance(each elder harvest has a chance of dropping any type of jewel seed).

Well, in case you are not aware, if you want to be an active player you have to spend countless amounts of money. I've spent well over 200 euros on this game and the amount keeps going up. DId you know some health care systems are cheaper than this game o.O? So you are telling me just because once or twice a year we could get some seeds they would lose money? You are telling that even after spending over 200 euros on this game i still can't have the benefit of growing my gardens? They are losing money because they are greedy and dont make the necessary changes to save the game ( such as make it more affordable). I'm pretty sure the reason to why they are losing money has nothing to do with the double seeds benefit. But i dont know... it seems i am the only one who has realised this is a scheme to force players to buy more seeds or elixirs from the crown shop.

Farm Potatoes in GH the ghost bears drops them. You can farm emp in mirage(ghultres) or you can farm secret tunnel in empyrea( it drops emps and potatoes)
I think it was a fair change. You can farm the seeds and you get a fair number of them when you play through the game.

This is really bad for customers and will cost them more than they even realise right now. Personally I've gone from being a spender who enjoys it so doesn't mind, to a non-spender who will question everything. It's a real shame because I never thought I'd feel like this or be unable to sing KI's praises to everyone. Now I'm just SMH and wondering if they will fix it fast enough to let us pretend it was all just a terrible mistake.

It's basically one free harvest since you could have that many in a few days when you harvested again anyway. They're also running it for less days so you can't fit in doing it twice. So yeah, they're calling it double gardening but really it's one free harvest.

i can see why people are complaining, but i feel like there's too much outrage over this. I mean, you have to keep in mind KI is a corporation and they can't just allow people to double their gardens for free. Imagine someone with 5 EMPS getting to like 80 in just cause of a free random member benifit. As a corporationg trying to make money it would be completely stupid to leave these *FARMABLE* crowns plants easily accessible cause of a benifit. Their intnention was double gardening rewards not double the garden.

I have 101 energy at level 101 so I thought it was by level plus a little extra from clothing or pet.
130 at lvl 130 plus stuff and pet and jewel.. thats a lot
The max is somewhere in the 300s, if you search Best Energy gear Final Bastion there will be a guide that comes up.

While I do agree it's definitely not what the old players want, it's a good balance adjustment for the game in general. We should be grateful for double rewards as it is a very quick way to gain gold without farming Halfang by selling snacks, reagents, and etc.

Yes, balance for the game. Cause that's what KI has been focusing on. Double gardening rewards is a x2 incentive within itself, which is broken in it's own way compared to any game. We just don't think it is after playing for so long. As for money spent? As long as we know this is a pay to progress game, there shouldn't be an issue with money spent.
