The Soilwork effect: listen to new single... feel unsure of it... tell yourself you aren’t going to write it off completely... tell yourself you’re going to listen again... find yourself humming parts of the song to yourself... listen to the song again... love it/like it.
Monkey Spunk that's exactly how I feel about every Soilwork release since Sworn to a Great Divide. It doesn't matter how strange it sounds at first, I know I'll be loving it soon..
Dude I had the same reaction. I heard this back in January before it released...and kinda got an "I'm not too sure" vibe. Now...months later...it's one of my faves from the album!
Tbh, I understand that we'll never get a "stabbing the drama" album ever again, but that's okay. This isn't growing on me yet, but I'll keep giving it a listen and see if it changes. It usually does for me. Very rarely do I hear a new song for the first time and love it right away

Got-damn, that opening & closing lick, with that power grove that kicks in at the beginning. WOO!! I'm digging this. It's different, but still Soilwork. Like how people grow up and evolve over time. Dude Bjorn, you just made Loud Wire's 10 Most Beautiful Voices in Death Metal sampling this awesome new song!I really hope you guys come back to Canada some time soon. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
So far, very pleased with both songs released from this album so far. Both are unique to themselves but share the fact that both have alot of depth to them and upon mutiple listens, I am catching new bits. Love it. You guys are, forever on my top 5 musicians of all time.
Different sound than what I'm used to, but after a few listens I'm really loving it. They never cease to surprise me. One of the few bands that always does it right. Soilwork 4 life.
So, the first song of the coming album was awesome and this opus has convinced too me about that I want now the whole album. Perfect as always. Thanx guys. :) And of course I have listened this song for 3 times... That part at [3:00] is so killer. :D
_Earth's soilworks, that living surface where our planet meets the universe!_ So I just heard an advertisement for soil work over commercial rock radio. And hell as an arborist I'm always playing in the soil. So RUclips pick this song as the first to check out. Growing up in a metal heavy City like Chicago. I was reminded of what happened to my friend who was a singer of a band called dead youth. Who suddenly popped out his eyeball and bursted some veins one day after growling out what obviously had to be the deathiest vocals from Hell itself.
I actually like this alot. It's nice to see what their direction will be on each album. As with life, everything changes and evolves, so have Soilwork, and I love this change in them.
Man, this song really surprised me. Very different sound for them! Classic Progressive Metal riff being the main feature in this song, and an early Scar Symmetry feel to the chorus. What a cool experimental song. Just based off the 2 singles I have now heard from Soilwork, I'm feeling that the diversity is going to be a really big thing for them. Really digging the Christian Alvestam-like melodies in this song.
Jesus, i listen you guys since 2002 and later im freaking out when stabbing the drama was out. But this! You guys do it again! Im speechless, Death Resonance was epic but this! I can't wait when i see you in Cracow!
I'm a massive fan of Soilwork, I literally have every album they have made and I'm always behind them on every decision they take music wise, but on this one, I don't know if it's going to be for me, I'll buy it no matter what, but I really hope that it's just this song that doesn't strike a chord with me. I want to be able to put it on repeat like every other album just like Sworn to a great divide that plays almost every day. Anyway, keep up the good work guys and really hope to see more.
Haha, it's so funny how we like different things. Sworn to a great divide is the only album of Soilwork that I never ever play. Because I Think it's so off compared to Everything else they've done.
@@oskarolsson6986 From Figure number five to The panic broadcast, these play the most, Sworn to a great divide has a sound that I find really interesting.
Soilwork? Night Flight Orchestra? Good music is just good music... And Soilwork was (and is) allways about good music. Just keep doing it... Harder, softer... Keep it true, honest and meaningfull, tht's what I ask!
First time I have listened to Soilwork, was expecting it to be much heavier than this, but really enjoyed the melody and almost progressive feel to some of the parts. Much more diverse and interesting.
Hay soil work those songs of yours and the best to play with eny song with vocals and guitar solos to mix it up with some bass and I still like to play with my guitar but with this virus it is hard to look for a guitar teacher around here

Chorus is somewhat Scar Symmetry-ish, which is awesome. I love the song, can't wait for the album!
I am not hearing it...Alvestam SS or the new stuff?
@@DB-xz1sb Actually the newer era SS, at least to my ear.
Was hearing the same thing. Can't think of which one though. Similar chorus melody!
It's kinda similar to the chorus of The Draconian Arrival and Extinction Mantra
I feel it has something to do with the vocal layering. It screams SS to me. Which, as you said, is awesome
At the Movies introduced me to this great voice AND he knows how to do screams properly
How can this fantastic song not have more views? It's a shame..

This is what I was waiting for - the song that feels out of place on the last album. I absolutely LOVE IT!
It seems like the new album will be super interesting! Another great number of experiments and new music.
