Good series, Sergie. I actually like the noise from the engine, etc. I like the long videos too. Where to next? Keep them coming. Stay safe.

Amazing journey. I had no idea until watching this how many times you get inspected and have show paperwork. Interesting drive though. Thanks for making this video.

I have no idea why I watched all these but I just finished number ten. Lots of respect for the work you do and the way you do it. I love driving but this does not look like an easy way to make a living.

An amazing 10-day experience! Was glad to hear the "stay tuned for more" coz am kinda hooked on your videos!
Include us on your two-day break as well...just a few of the general things a trucker does looking for a load, doing paper work, or just chilling!
A couple of requests: Add in some more of your interactions/conversations with the people you meet en-route - like at the scales, way-stations, etc. if possible!
    Keep on trucking, Sergie!
PS: Your clutch needs some more of the WD 40!

almost all us and Canadian trailers have air suspension. if you crawl underneath you'd see AIR BAGS on each side of each axle. the air pressure is adjusted automatically, based on the weight of the load and terrain (when the truck leans, for example). I think this qualifies as load-sharing suspension because all air bags function in unison.

Yep, that's for sure. Sometimes you can make good money with a regular flat, but more often shippers are willing to pay more for a specialized trailer.

Sergei, Have you ever seen the suspension on a tandem car trailer where if you look between the two axles you will see the springs are attached to a rocker arm. This arm allows the load to be distributed evenly. Eg: when you go up a driveway instead of the front axle taking all the load and the rear axle floating in mid air. The rocker in the middle distributes the weight evenly across all axles.
Your trailer axles looks like they are separately welded to the chassis. NON-LOAD SHARING LOAD

load sharing springs are airbags that take the weight off the chassis and transfer it to the axel's.

Another great video Sergei ! The noise from your GPS, Engine and squeaky clutch pedal was louder than your voice over. Can you lube the pedal, maybe get a microphone to clip on so we can hear you. I really enjoy your comments and how you approach truck driving. Keep it up !

Loved this series of videos. Especially enjoyed the driving footage and the cataloguing of your experiences.
One suggestion for improvement: an audio recording solution that picks up more of your voice and less of the truck engine's sound. Maybe a headset kind of thing that customer service people use or something like what rock stars use on stage when they have to dance, to leave their hands free.

I think in TV shows like the Ice Truckers where the cameraman shoots the driver while the truck is moving they have EXTERNAL MIKES with noise suppression. But to use that you need a cam that has that mike port. Mine doesn't. But I don't like the noise myself. It's hard to hear the comments. I'll try to find a solution.

I have to slow down a bit. Verizon emailed me yesterday saying in 10 days I've used up 75% of my monthly data allowance ;)

  • @HHTV60
    @HHTV60  11 лет назад

I uploaded the Day 10 video (178 Mb) through the free Wi-Fi at my hotel where I'm staying right now. It took ... 3.5 hours! If I used my Verizon Wi-Fi box, I'd be done in 15 minutes max. But I've used up my monthly data allowance. Gotta be careful till March 14th when I get all the data back.

Sergei, I notice in the states that most trailers DO NOT have LOAD SHARING SUSPENSION. I would have thought they would be fitted on all trailers would have them fitted to even the weight out equally over all tyres. This would also help reduce road damage.
Also Sergei, Do you do any cooking in the truck to save on the high prices of Truck Stop Food. If so, could you please do a segment of you preparing your evening meal in the truck.

I imagine they want to know by their own scales exactly what the item weighs before they attempt to pick it up
