I have been wondering also if doing movie versions of DV and SA makes it easier to lie? Plus, on top of that, I have read a few articles where the Me2Movement leadership were looking for powerful males to bring down to come against the concept of "innocent until proven guilty" and Manson would be the easiest mark because of his persona.

I will add that she was making her own documentary, so she was already in "acting mode" and if she is lying she would be in double-acting mode (interview about acting) now and would also have been acting back then for her art.

Regardless of anything she says and does... I don't like how she (and Amber did it too) decided to wear those old-fashioned, all buttoned-up, grandma-style Puritan clothes. I get that they're trying to evoke a sense of innocence that way but... to me, it feels unnaturally stiff and too "agenda".

I see revenge and jealousy in her eyes. He’s moved on and is married and has a new album. ERW sowed her youthful wild oats with MM, intentionally, and now she has regrets about it and wants to change history and say he caused it. She was not a “baby” as she says; she was a promiscuous, savvy, 19-year-old woman who had already made some racy films and had been with a boyfriend (that she later married and had a son with) and with a 30-something man, the actor Edward Norton, before she even met MM. IMO she’s enjoying the limelight. People who were around ERW and MM, on a daily basis when they were together, have stated that she seemed extremely happy and appeared to be living her best life when she was with him. She may have been 19, but she was not some meek, naive girl. She had been playing “Lolita” type roles in film for years and even a part where a student falsely accuses her teacher of SA. And before she met MM, she with her first boyfriend (who she later married) and was was also with Edward Norton, who was in his 30s, when she was 16-17.
She says that MM approached her; however, I don’t know how true it is, but I did read that she had been a fan of MM for years and went to an adult party at the notorious Chateau Marmont for the express purpose of meeting MM. She wanted to be in one of his music videos.
This all just appears to me as someone who has some regrets about their youthful indiscretions and wants to rewrite history and blame someone else. She appears to be playacting here on The View, and comes across as somewhat too cheerful and vague about something that should have been devastating to her if it really happened to her. Like AH read up on all the symptoms of PTSD and then checked them all off as if she experienced them all personally, ERW appears here as though she researched everything about how abusers groom and treat their victims and is lecturing us all about how it works. She wants to be the poster child of the abused, just like AH. She’s just a better actress.
No woman had accused MM of abuse before ERW and her activist friends started a campaign of contacting women for this purpose, including forging an FBI letter to get to some of them. MM had had been married before and had had many longtime relationships with women-both romantic and platonic-where they said he is a “chump” with women and respectful. He was even engaged to Rose McGowen, of the #MeToo Movement, who said he was never abusive.
I don’t know what’s come over some of these women, but IMO AH and ERW have mental issues and narcissistic traits and they are selfishly ruining what good the #MeToo Movement did for women. ERW’s ex-husband doesn’t believe her and her brother says she has always been extremely narcissistic.

Yeah I also noticed her calling herself a minor as well. She should know full well she was legally an adult. And from what I remember she was a wild girl back then. Like she was always very mature for her age, but I thought it was just kind of know she was into drugs and being rebelious. And so when she said he got her to do drugs, I think that's quite a different story from what actually happened. I think it's very likely she's editing the story to fit a narrative. She very likely did the drugs willingly, and probably even did them before meeting Manson. I almost get the feeling shes re-written what happened, with a new perspective where she was this young and innocent MINOR and that because of that she couldn't possibly have consented regardless of whether she was a willing participant in the drugs and sex. And btw, (in reference to a comment Evan made here) if Manson ACTUALLY raped her on a video set, the LAST thing he would do is imply the sex was real in an interview. The vast majority of people who are guilty of something will stay as far away from the crime as possible (verbally speaking). Idk. Something just feels off. The interviewer says EVR was "ONLY nineteen"? Nineteen years old is old enough to know what you're doing. If she was sixteen that would be another thing, but at 19... sex and drugs and rock n' roll. Whether or not she was abused, she stayed in the relationship because she was getting something out of it. She wasn't isolated from family, friends or career. She could come and go as she pleased. She wasn't held captive physically or financially. "Celebrities" and people with money (paraphrasing her friend AH) have resources that so many abused women don't have. Women who are truly stuck in the damaging and sometimes fatal relationship. My gut tells me that she got together with him BECAUSE he was the bad boy. That doesn't mean that he didn't do bad things but it does mean that the beginning of her story is not accurate which throws everything else into question.

In the 90's, I thought Manson was evil: he looked scary AF, and most of his music, especially music clips was, to me, were horrific! Then, I saw some interviews he'd done and my perception of him changed. It was a growth moment for me, to not judge someone by looks alone with out learning more about the person. Still not a fan of his music, but respect his intelligence. And these accusations came out,.....and now I'm confused. Knowing he is a friend of Johnny's confuses the matter more. Johnny is such a good soul, it's hard to imagine him being friends with someone, allegedly, like that.

I cannot stand her saying she was a minor at 19 years old. You are not a fucking minor at 19. Also, I am a recovering addict and i will tell you that anyone who does drugs does it of free will. Unless someone holds you down and puts the drug in your body somehow. Of course, you are going to have someone introduce you to drugs but that doesn't mean you have to do them. I get so tired of people blaming others for their own decisions such as drugs use. I think she did things that she regrets and now she wants to say it was abuse. I also think that others have gotten into her head and told her that it was abuse which makes her actually believe it was. It's hard for me to understand why someone would stay in an abusive relationship like she describes unless for financial reasons, kids or being completely alone if they were to lose their abuser. I stayed in an abusive relationship because of financial reasons and because he alienated me from everyone. I had literally nobody and the fear of being alone was worse than the abuse I endured. I hate to say it didn't happen because it could be possible, but I just get this really weird feeling in my stomach when I hear her speak.

Eh - she is a minor with regard to alcohol in drugs in the US. And the number one drug used for SA is alcohol and intentionally overserving. (I would find her statement about being a minor more problematic if she were trying to lie about her age being 19, but she never has).
I'm not arguing that I know what happened, but I know more women than I care to know that this happened to -- and if you add in polysubstance use or slipping drugs in - it definitely blurs consent a great deal.
As a woman, I personally stopped being willing to use alcohol on first dates, or if I had one or two drinks, I warned my dates that it would mean I was pre-emptively not consenting to anything physical in advance. This was just a personal choice I made after noticing that far too many men in my binge drinking state would try to overserve me in these efforts, and that's not okay.

@@Tcheera Yeah but still she is talking about taking drugs and he is giving her drugs. Which is not the accusation that he spiked drinks. The things she accused him of is slipping her amphetamines lol and raping her unconscious body. Total contradictions as how you can be unconscious and be drugged on amphetamines that keep you awake for days. You can't retroactively remove consent that you already gave. If this was a true rape situation i don't think it would have been recorded with brand new 3d technology just invented by james cameron at the time. This Video was recorded in 2007 and now all of a sudden its a rape? You can't even put out these videos without written consent of all involved. What we have here is another lady who post relationship is trying to collect big money from an ex who no longer wants anything to do with her. Im sure in every relationship there is mistreatment on both sides of the table. But she has made zero examples here and also the statute of limitations on rape in California where the video was recorded is 10 year increased from the previous 3. She filed a police report in 2021 which the police found no corroborating evidence whatsoever and did not even pursue manson. There are reasons these cases have a statute of limitations because after so long there is literally no way to preserve evidence and rarely does the criminal justice system prosecute based on he said she said crimes in 15 year old relationships. I just can't believe her. If she was so traumatized it never stopped her from becoming a successful actress in westworld. I think Marilyn Manson is an easy target because of his image and that if a woman truly thinks she has been raped (at the time not 15 years later) she should immediately report it and go to the hospital where a rape kit can be used to determine validity. I am sure plenty of incidents go unreported but when there is financial gain to be had i can't believe those who come from the woodwork with accusations years upon decades later.

I dont believe ERW, but i do believe she wants to rewrite her history and also get back into the limelight. I heard the term “regret revenge” before, and i think thats whats happening, along with any personality disorders she may be diagnosed or yet to be diagnosed with. Seen plenty of interviews with exes who were interviewed and none of them say he was abusive in any way, just that he was intelligent, introvert, vanilla, complete romantic. His stage persona is something different to what he is like off stage and performing. I also believe in my gut, that something is off with ERW. She was not a minor while with Brian Warner, 19 in America is not a minor, younger then he was, but not a minor, and its just weird that she thinks she was a minor while with him.

      Ah.
Under 21 is a 'minor' with respect to alcohol, which she claims she was given in the bit where she refers to herself as a minor, but she the way she rolled it all together certainly suggested she was talking about age of consent, not drinking age. Is she claiming she was provided alcohol ('as a minor') before or after she took the illegal drugs ('as an adult')? Hmmmm.
Also, even though giving alcohol to someone under 21 is the crime of 'providing alcohol to a minor' in most jurisdictions, if you're over 18 I don't think you get to claim you didn't consent to drinking. Generally you are responsible for your own decisions at that age, and if it came to light, you would be in equally hot water for accepting the drink as the other person is for providing it.

That's fascinating, thanks for sharing! I'm from the Netherlands, and over here we're acutely aware of how much more chill Scandinavia is when it comes to metal and musicians like MM and other shock rockers etc. But in the Dutch culture, the average person is still likely to assume MM did these things because of his shocking appearance. It's only the people who are into metal who know that it's just a persona, and that it does not say anything positively or negatively about who they are as a person. Me and my rock/metalhead friends usually envy Scandinavia because metal is so much more accepted. Over here you'd never find a radio station that would ever allow to play even something like Nightwish. So we're a little in between the US and Scandinavia in a way. We're aware of the Scandi attitude to metal, but our culture with regards to it still more resembles the US. Here it's only the rock fans and metalheads that are more in line with Scandinavia instead of the general public.

I commented this on someone’s video and they said “she meant underage as in under the drinking age” but she never makes that distinction and, in the documentary, she shows animations OF HERSELF AS A CHILD, when she speaks of her story. That’s odd to me because it’s not necessary, she can just say she was a lot younger than him, which is literally true and can be problematic, but she’s trying to make it sound as if she was a child. It’s just an unnecessary exaggeration. Edit: That detail makes me doubt her intentions just a tiny bit, also the fact that she continues to support AH. Not that I’m saying anything in her favor, but some people, like JD for instance, they smile at bad things, which is weird, but not unheard of. She, however, I believe isn’t one of those people. Also, she was 19 when she met Manson. She was an adult. Groomers take advantage of young children and minors. Once you’re past the age of 18, you are considered an adult. Although there was an age gap, obviously it wasn’t an issue for her for many, many years. She may have been younger and possibly not as experienced as him (obviously he has had more years of life). 19 isn’t a minor. You may not be able to purchase alcohol, but she wasn’t a minor! She also could have said no, if there was drugs and alcohol, again, she wasn’t a little kid, she wasn’t a minor that needed to have mommy or daddy to say no for her. Take some responsibility for your actions. Even if she felt pressured, she was an adult who could use her words. She had a choice in this, and just because she regrets it now, doesn’t mean that she gets to blame others for it now, just like AH, she seems like she won’t take any responsibility for her actions in this either

The way she’s dressed is very sound of music. Reminded me of Amber in that one day when she tried to look really innocent and wholesome. Rachel is doing the same here.
But to be fair, I tattooed Marilyn Manson’s name on my ankle with a pin at 15. I had 1 cassette with ‘Antichrist Superstar’ on it and listened to it everyday for over a year. I don’t feel much for his recent music but he’s probably had the biggest impact any musician has had on me and my life.
He’s actually very intelligent. He’s kind of a nerd actually. His whole persona filled a huge gap in the metal scene. And he nailed it! (to a cross😁)
I also really liked this chicken too after West world. But the second I saw the first article I thought to myself that she’s doing another Amber. Quite possibly she’s not and I don’t know the details but Marilyn is a lot of barking but very little biting. A sheep in wolves clothing.

I had a friend that shot herself in the head and by some miracle survived. She wrote an essay about the experience and how surviving the attempt changed everything for her. She had a metal plate in her head. I do not know what Wood's attempt was. I don't know if she even really tried to kill herself. I am not saying I believe of disbelieve her. I don't know if their is something truly wrong with them but the will attempt it when they know that someone will be around to save them. If you shoot yourself in the head and live, that would definitely be a turning point moment, that you have a purpose and need to find what that purpose is.

They don't go on national TV on a famous long-standing show and get the stage with no interruptions. ERW's got nothing. Either the View panel doesn't understand about abuse, or they've been silenced to only ask specific questions. Cross examination in a courtroom is going to be a whole different venue (assuming MM has a great attorney).

I wish that you had SA survivor experts as part of this AND that if you felt that you must that you were analyzing something a bit more reasonable than a DAYtime talk show that is subject to a ton of rules and limitations regarding what can even be discussed. I mean sincerely it's the freakin' VIEW. For anyone who has actually heard the claims she's made of what he did (whether you believe them or not), what of them do you think are daytime appropriate?
Aside from that, it's incredibly common for SA victims to intellectualize and distance like this and to make twisted smiles and to do anything they can to soothe. If you don't believe Amber Heard and believe JD was a victim of abuse, look at how many times he had awkward smiles while talking about his abuse on the stand while even talking in detail. And sometimes when talking more globally he would switch to using "You".
No one knows what happened here - but something that is interesting is that MM is NOT directly suing her for defamation for her abuse claims, even though I'm sure that's the narrative that is and will be put out if he wins his suit. He is suing Ilma Gore and only her tangentially. I do suspect that Ilma Gore is using ERW as well and that she is being subject to exploitation by yet another partner in this instance, and that it may end up in a narrative that she also wasn't abused due to a crafty lawsuit and PR machines and that it won't matter whether she's telling the truth about what happened to her or not if things are manipulated and if she was in two exploitative relationships. Largely this case is actually MM vs IG -- ERW is only tangentially a party and in the lawsuit the truth of whether she was abused or not won't be material to the lawsuit unless the jury decides that it is.

Defamation is almost impossible to sue for in California. Even harder in cases like this. This whole thing is so likely to be part of the Me2Movement trying to pull down powerful males. I can't find the article I read on it but there are a whole lot of false allegations by the leadership of Me2 and they all happened near the same time and a lot of males got canceled without any evidence. In fact, in many of the cases, the women, like Evan said specifically that they were in happy, healthy relationships and Evan said that the persona was fake and that Manson was into romantic love relationships in real life. But now things she said were fake back then, she now says are real. williamofoccam.com/amber-heard-michele-dauber-emily-doe-metoo/

I will have to say that ERW seems more likable than Amber Heard, but that’s not saying much because she’s doing the same thing: destroying a man through the media without proof. At least she doesn’t screw up her face into constant micro-expressions that leap from “angry face” to “disgust face” and back again within seconds. ERW keeps her facial expressions pretty much “Pollyanna face” throughout her rehearsed speech. Or, like Mr. Stone said it best: “customer-service face.” 😂 Evidently neither is able to summon what might be a genuine “victim-of-abuse face.”
I would be truly sad for ERW or AH if I believed that they really were victims of abuse, but I just don’t believe either one of them, because their stories don’t make sense when real facts are known.

Sorry, I think people are getting this wrong.
    1. She's doing this interview as an activist. This is not a confessional, a therapy appointment, or a stand on trial. She's there to shine a light on abuse, and she's passionate about it for a reason.
    2. As someone who experienced sadistic abuse(which is what she's alleging-that really sort of manipulative, intentional abuse. Which is on another level than someone being careless or hot-headed.) for years, her manner of speaking about it doesn't strike me as odd at all. It is very difficult to talk about and relive specific events with even a close friend or therapist, much less on national TV!
    3. She has clearly been through therapy/done some processing, and the way she is analyzing and gesturing reflects that. Yes, she wants to distance herself from it-and that is part of a healing process, to be able to reflect and understand and not be stuck in the trauma. Yes, she is happy to feel empowered to talk about it at all. What a relief!
    4. She's talking with a panel of women, and it is fairly commonplace for women to speak about abuse in this way, like it's a shared understanding, which has some disturbing implications. (I like that she mentions that men experience it, too. Not a club anyone WANTS to be part of, but welcome?)
    5. Evan Rachel Wood and Amber Heard don't behave alike at all. Amber Heard lost credibility because she was weirdly flat or dismissive at times and overly emotive or descriptive at others. Evan Rachel Wood has been consistent in the way she has been speaking about this. It's not proof, but it strikes me as genuine.
