I was in high school the first time I saw this on HBO. It was my first time seeing an Asian film that's not all martial arts and the cast are speaking in English. The storyline is even more unforgettable which made it one of my favorite films of all time.
Tamlyn Tomita who plays Waverly in this movie is a first generation Japanese American (issei) with 1/4 Filipino ancestry who was born in Okinawa, Japan and immigrated to Los Angeles, California, USA as an infant.
I just love her so much
"All of us like stairs "..... no better description
This movie has SO many unforgettable, funny lines. To wit: "This girl no have concerning for us; we not concerning, this girl." The fur coat scene: "This...not so good. See here? Fur too short. No long hairs." Speaking of hair: "I'll just go to wedding with OLD hair. "Make Skippy peanut-butter pie. Who else like?" 🤣 PLUS ULTRA
“I’m never gonna play chess again”
“I’ve decided to play chess again”
“I never played chess again”😂
This was a really good movie....
Oh damn, Egg Shen is in this!? Must watch.
One of my favorite movies.
I loved the cut.
I want to show you something.
THIS. ( throws condoms)
Lol!
the "姐姐" , "妹妹" echoing was so funny lol
Best quality movie 🤣🏆
"Best quality heart"??
where can I watch this film?
Movie explanation in Tamil
Waverly was also Kumiko in The Karate Kid Part II
Can You tell me where can I watch this?
So much yellow fever infused for its time in 1993. 🤣
only thing i learned from this movie was asian girls can marry white guys to spite their strict parents 😂😂😂
Indeed, the objection of the white guy's parents to the Asian girl is one of the main storylines indeed.
Also because in old Asian cultures the woman is considered secondary to her husband and he is the king of the house.Western husbands treat their Asian wives more like equals.
Don't buck-dance for Hollywood.
your mom buck dances for hollywood
Cant make this movie today not enough diversity
@@candlebaby3172 Still a horrible story promoting yellow fetish for asian women. no ethnic moral.
I doubt it , it would have had lot of recognition right now
