@@antheadart Great subtle reference to the Sopranos. It’s what Phil Leotardo was referred to as by his granddaughter.
Vince and Cranston were both big fans of the show and James Gandolfini in particular.
God. He has a poet's heart and a serial killer's eyes.
Jonathan Banks is a beautiful, beautiful man.
+LAVATORR hahaha
😍 Isn't he though? I love him.
LAVATORR he was great as a henchman in Beverly Hills cop
I am seriously attracted to him
And a classic drinker's shnozz.
You. Are not the guy. You're not capable of being the guy. I had a guy, but now I don't. You. Are not. The guy.
OAHHH *explodes*
@@ratpunkgurl PAF PAF PAF, PA PA PA PAF, HHHHA HAHHHHHHAHAHA
the precision of this quote. beautiful. the scene played out again flawlessly in my head.
I can hear Mike
He's the only guy who actually was there to drink
:) so true
He's a legend
hahhaaaa
😂😂😂😂
Walt was a fucking asshole for killing him.
He was an asshole all along. Killing Mike was maybe the 5th worst thing he did on that show. A truly unlikable main character.
Yeah i just ended up hating him more and more through out the show.
He should have showed Heisenberg the respect he deserved.
You feel sorry for him being a murderer.....? Dude the guy was going to kill Walter and Jesse earlier in the series for no reason hell Walter tried helping the condescending asswhole get out of town and still was ungrateful despite Walter forgiving him for trying to kill and Jesse. Michael had it coming and so did Gustavo
Kevin N agreed
Dear Jonathan Banks,
Do audiobooks. Do lots of Audiobooks!
Please,
MrMcBobb
MrMcBobb Agreed!
MrMcBobb Detective novels would be great!
Erik Brandt Philip Marlowe + Jonathan Banks = Earporn
***** Well now I know I'm gunna bloody find 'um!
+ThyerHazard Where? I can't find any on youtube at least?
Banks is a fabulous character actor. He totally came into his own on BB as the believable Mike and it really sucked when he was offed. But because of that, he'll be remembered even more.
offed?
jesse1Deest Killed...
WellHelloDali
u probably just spoiled it for him
RiZKSPaRTaN no I knew it I've sees the whole serie
Man was I pissed when Walt offed him. Took many months to get over it.
My heart sank when Mike died.
Yea... that was the first time I really was like "Well fuck you Walt. Sincerely, FUCK YOU". Damn in that scene he just went too freakin' far.
***** He crossed Heisenberg! As a professional he should have known his place.
JoeyClimax You're goddamn right!!!
"Just shut the fuck up, and let me die in peace"
can you edit that and put spoilers? seriously please
1) he's the definition of cool
2) his acting is impeccable
3) his voice
4) please be my dad
The role of a lifetime for Jonathan Banks. He was so bloody good as Mike that we could never think of him as "acting'. He was real and he was scary. Love this guy!
Banks is so cool he puts James Bond to shame. Just a natural born badass.
Best character in breaking bad
+PersianBrosPRP999 Agreed! Loved his character!!
Yeah agreed I really liked him.
by far
PersianBrosPRP999 what about Todd
Nikoli Belinski nope
Just finished BB. This guy is one bad ass AMAZING actor!!! Glad to see his ear is intact
Take a look to Better Call Saul. hes great there too
This was close to 8 years ago and is still one of my favorite shows on RUclips. A remake of this show with either the same or other guests would be amazing.
Oh yes, definitely great. And man, Jonathan Banks is just a downright scary good actor.
Bcs is almost better than BB. So cool twists
Jonathan Banks has one of those faces that you look at and say to yourself, "Yeah, I'm not going to fuck with that guy."
Guy totally deserved an Emmy for his tremendous chops in the Five-O episode of Better Call Saul. So good.
the characters in BB are scary convincing.
He's such a great actor. When I was a kid and in my teens and saw him on TV and movies he scared the shit out of me. Now I'd kill to have a drink w him and talk to him for 5 mins.
I almost used the words pick his brain in my post lol. I've seen several of his interviews since Breaking Bad, and he takes his craft very seriously as do most actors. And he says mother fucker a lot. IDW but I love that about him lol. He seems very cool
Can't unsee him as mike..
He'd play a mean Santa Claus.
Hahaha, emphasis on the 'mean'
Just finished watching the 6th Better Call Saul episode... Jonathan Banks was amazing, great job.
***** It certainly has been. The show has utterly surpassed my expectations so far, I hope that continues.
I watched in 2 times in a row. The first time just being amazed by Banks, the second time to fully grasp the plot, lol.
Amen! I got the idea he should be in the new Twin Peaks.
karnak333 That was such an amazing episode. Wow. What an actor.
+karnak333 His monologue about his son brought tears to my eyes, and I rarely cry while watching tv.
should be a character in gta v
+Aerochalklate or payday
YES!!
He did fuck up Trevor pretty good in BCS
He will kill Trevor in GTA6
He will kill Trevor in GTA6
This interviewer is actually quite awesome. There are SO many that just screw up celebrity interviews.
this guy is the definition of cool
He's definitely a person with life experience way beyond the mean, Hats off.
I love this guy... Unbelievable actor in my opinion and my favorite character on Breaking Bad. Nobody can do so much with a scene by saying so little. Mike was bad ass.
i want to be like him when i'm old
+Chemical thanks, that's nice:)
Chemical_35 very wholesome of you, cheers
@@chemical_35
That was so cool of you, even 3 years later
he shines even more in better call saul..love all his hound dog expressions..so sardonic yet brilliant.
Super Badass Grandpa !!!
probably the best character fucking ever.
Mike.
Haha, Tompkins's gleeful face at 11:59: "Mike ordered me to drink!"
Wow, this is really great! So intelligent, funny, and just genuine and organic.
the entire cast has such a natural charisma. watching a few other interviews and they all seem to make people laugh constantly.
Shit, even out of character, he still has the eyes of a killer.
No doubt, I noticed that too, freaking scary. I mean this dude is one of the best actors I've ever seen. And I remember him when he was young, and I was a kid back then and he was downright scary. Very memorable actor, and unbelievably talented.
@@trevorjameson3213 Do you remember him from Beverly Hills cop ?
I wouldn't mind getting amnesia just so I can watch this series for the 1st time again.
Man, this guy is such a bad ass, even not in character, you can just feel it when he talks and some of the looks he gives. It's like Mike's character is there sometimes in this interview, kind of scary. What an incredible actor, just brilliant.
is it just me or is Jonathan Banks getting progressively intoxicated during this interview XD
He does this in almost every interview I've seen of him.
+MelodiesForTheSoul I thought he seemed less and less drunk as it went on...
17:14
On Jonathan Bank's last day of shooting (the episode where he dies) the entire cast and crew wore black arm bands in honor of Mike, and gave him a big picture of the cast that everyone signed for him. He was very emotional that day, and for an actor to be that in love with his work/character I find amazing. The actors in Breaking Bad literally BECOME these characters... they eat, sleep, and breathe the characters and it reflects in the work. BRAVO Mr. Banks. Goodbye Breaking Bad.
please have a spoiler warning
@@micahstoppp don't look up interviews for something 10 years after its released if you don't want to hear about it
Yeah! That's my man!
lol
Jesse Pinkman bitch
Jesse Pinkman That's church yo
I hope Better Call Saul goes 8 Seasons and we enter an alternate timeline where Mike kills Walter. Sorry Brian Cranston, but if it's between you and Mike, you got to go!
Well if so, I hope season 3 picks up and gets good pretty quick because they let it slide. It's all about u stole muh case, oh i got the case back. jimmy are u slippin? it's turning into ... the way family guy went downhill by becoming all about repetitive "remember that?" style humor..
IsawUupThere you know, I agree. Breaking bad should have ended with mike showing up to the scene where Walt killed jacks people and he shoots Walt. then the show end with him turning to Jesse and saying "we got work to do" -SCENE!!!!
Then there's a kickoff show about mike and jesse
CJ the Desert Lord that's just an awful idea
??? Why? The only exiting thing that happens after Walt kills Mike is the raid at todds uncles place
hear, hear!
I both fear, and respect him.
see how he doesn't tell jonathan banks to not look at his camera? true fear
I noticed that, too! XD
Mike's the only one who could get away with it
This guy actually played Dewey in Malcolm in the Middle!
Dude, 28 likes? Dude, you deserve all the fucking views of the site.
Am I missing the joke here or something
I don't get it.
Mike needs to be in another show/movie as a cold-hearted badass.
He's going to be in "Better Call Saul" as Mike
There's a lot of similarity with the character he's now playing on Community.
Lucas Munhoz yeah, but it's probably going to show the roots of Mike's cold-heartedness. It's probably going to start off when he was still a cop in Philly.
This is how every talk show should be set up! So relaxed and natural..and, booze.
Banks is awesome. He got my attention back in the "Wiseguy" days--stole every scene he was in. And truly, Mike was the most sympathetic character on Breaking Bad. Glad JB is finally getting the respect he's due.
Absolutely one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood. I was a fan of Jonathan Banks and never knew his name. What an awesome guy, and phenomenal actor. Reminds me of my dad.
he's got one of my favorite voices ever
Went looking for Jonathan Banks content and found another great Speakeasy interview. God I love Speakeasy.
when he died on Breaking bad i just couldnt finish the rest of the season
Paul was too afraid to say "Don't look at my camera" in the beginning!
paul f tompkins looks like Dr. Mario lol
I like how Paul didn't dare have the stones to call out Jon for looking into his camera.
Paul isn't a fan of Belize I take it.
nice to see a man who knows how to interview and discuss....this is great...thanks for sharing
Holy shit, even the actor is awesome! This guy is the shit!
It's amazing how Mike became such an attractive and lovable character as BB grew. He might be the most popular character of BB and BCS!
0:10 there's a fly in that beverage
Calm down, it's just a ruffie!
small poop :D
gertjan van der meij ITS CONTAMINATED
There's no way I wouldn't like this, as Breaking Bad is probably my favourite show and Paul F. Tompkins is my favourite comedian. But goodness, what a delight to hear just how enthusiastic and joyful Jonathan Banks is talking about his craft and his collaborators. What a cool, present person.
Am I the only getting a George Carlin vibe from his voice?
mike is my favourite character from breaking bad
-"You, are not the guy".
-"You're not capable of being the guy."
I remember him way back when in Wiseguy back in the late 80's early 90's... loved him then.. love him now
Mr. Peanutbutter and Mike talking.
One knows Aaron Paul as Jese, the other knows him as Todd.
Thank me later.
This was pure entertainment - great guest on an exceptional interview series.
I love this interview, so genuine and funny.. Great actor.
I like that Jonathan said "salud"
I keep looking at his ear, lol
Gorillaz o Elf boi
I'd love to see the uncut version of all of these interviews.
Jonathan is soo badass!!
thank you
i wish i could wipe my memory of breaking bad and watch it for the first time.
The stare still intimidates me.....
love this guy;great actor;best compliment i could give is the first time i saw him in breaking bad;i immediately thought of beverly hills cop.about 36 years apart.i am a big fan
Great, Great actor, and almost my fav in BB.
"Would you stop falling asleep for Christ sake!" only Jonathan Banks can deliver that line and make me shit my pants.
*World's Greatest Grandpa*
Mike & Jonathan is like the only intimidating old men I know.
23 people better tread lightly...
............ Or end up getting shot in their cars.
I love the way he says "Hello Pwall"
he hs been comfirmed to be in Saul goodmans show
I loved him in Beverly Hills Cop, and I loved him even more in Breaking Bad! Fantastic actor!
Just waiting for the interviewer to go randomly "I fucking love this band! They're the best band EVER, PERIOD! Tenacious D!" Sorry, but he has burnt an image into my memory. :P
Took me a good 2 minutes to realise where do i know him from.
Such a badass character that Mike.
"If one person is offended, stop doing it."
Alright, I'm offended by Banks's career. Time to wrap it up.
Haha
if my eyes rolled any further back into my head I'd literally be looking into my brain
Biggest bullshit that way of thinking.. Not saying their specific instances their wrong (redskins).. But loss of liberty due to someone taking offence is downward spiral and not something to be adorned as ethical
Jonathan you're awesome XD "Because I'm so fucking funny" I think he was a little drunk at end lol
He didn't tell Mike not to look in his camera
Would you?
Paul is the best interviewer. It's not even an interview, its good conversation over drinks. love it. keep up the good work!
He was 16 17 and 18 years old at one point
at three points
This guy made Johnatan talk. Go give him a medal
he looks a bit like sylvester stallone.
Sounds a little like him too
Was just thinking that. Would make a good movie brother or something along those lines.
kats peter oh yeah, just like will ferell and ron perlman.
No, he looks like a squid :p
Simon Karlsson lol, you must like Calamari
.
11:58 Paul's face = pure terror.
Get the man a drink
I can tell he grew up in DC because he said, "Wershington" lmao
He looks like a turtle heh
Datniceman I wonder what you look like. 💩
'Would you quit falling asleep over there for christs sake!' Best part of this interview :P
"If somebody's offended, just change the name!"
Hey Jon, it's 2016 calling, and uh...everybody's, like....like really, really offended by everything. Hope the next three years treat you well.
- The Future
People have always been offended by something. 60 years ago, you would have to write letters to tv stations to say how offended you were, the internet in the early days you could blog about how offended you were, now with social media being what it is, it seems like everyone is offended. It's similar to the idea of how some people think the world is more violent but in reality the internet just shined a light on something that's been around forever. Same idea applies. In the early 90's people were freaking out that a gay dude was on a TV sitcom, now people get offended when they see a woman or a person of color taking on a lead role in a game or comic series that was normally lead by a white dude. So you'll get two sides of it; one side being offended by not having representation and the other side getting offended because the other side is offended and they don't agree with them. This shit had been going on for over 50 years, but the internet makes it seem like it's a new thing. Tech changes but human nature doesn't. We're just as big of pussies as we were in the 60's as we are now.
I fucking loved him from that very first sentence. He sounds like a jolly old man who works as a hitman on the side.
wat? Mike laughing? Mike never laugh....never!
Jonathan Banks took this role and did something AMAZING with it. As a die hard BrBa fan, to me it's a beautiful thing to see how emotional and saddened Mike was to be leaving the show. He was visibly sad and blubbering, while openly admitted that this character and this project (Breaking Bad) is hands down the BEST he has ever been involved with in his 40 plus years of acting. THAT is saying something. He took a one episode cameo (season 2 finale) and made it into something VERY special.
"if somebody is offended by it, then change it" Excuse me but this guy is no badass. A badass doesn't care who he offends. Little girls and weaklings do though
Realistically, pretending to be a badass doesn't make you a badass. It makes you look immature. And Jonathan Banks doesn't have time for your immaturity because he's too busy being a real badass.
Word, that kind of thinking is bullshit. Censorship is bullshit. If people are offended than so what? Someone being offended doesn't mean that the whole world has to change around them to ensure their comfort.
Lucky thing we've got your tough ass to sort the world out for us all
Hearing Jonathan say "Motherfucker" made my day
