my stepdaughter Asya and Myself met and took pictures with her and her brother Russ around 2000,at the warner theather,this girl can SANG,!!! yes Rachell , Aretha set the tone for the throne ain't no question but now you need to be offered that seat and let me tell ya'll this girl is for real, as Aretha used to sang there is nothing like the real Thang, Rachelle u r truly an angel, we still try to catch your shows when we can 60's now, can't hang like I used to but still listening Love Ya !!

whistle notes can be full-toned and connected to the point where they feel and sound like head voice, and can switch in and out seamlessly, though they are physically whistle production. This is what occurred here; and I am almost certain that both you and your sister cross into whistle as well, without identifying it as such. I have heard Rachelle do up to sustained F6 in head voice on some videos, but the overlapping portion of her whistle register is rich enough to fill the same shoes

Well actually, he's right: she did transition to whistle. The oh-oh-oh-oh scat effect thing (i forgot the name for it: something-catto I think) is in whistle register but with a connected rich tone that gives a seamless fullness. Only thing is she did not technically cross into chest voice in the lower part (she used mixed voice instead [which is head voice physically speaking]) but she used a "natural" mix that I think is close enough to chest voice to say she did

I hear what you're saying lol its not whistle, thats mixed head (not head-whistle) and chest, (like you said i think). She def brought her chest voice up into that. Most whistle starts after E6 but some can sing higher without going into whistle. My sister can hit a A6 without whistle, just regular head voice. Rachelle did something similar, was not as high but the same method. I personally can imitate her scat effect without going into whistle lol.

There is nothing soulful about this shit. It's ironic also that you go with the racist caucasian line also when Janis Joplin was white and probably the most soulful singer of all time bar none. This performance is a mess.
