I like the way he put it, " Wow, a good composer who is alive!". So now, with the likes of masterpieces like this from composers like Master Composer Beeftink, musicians can have something fresh in their reportoir of pieces to play, instead of the same old-same-old from past greats. This would certainly be good for the player and the listener. I don't know exactly how music degree programs at universities are nowadays, but hopefully they allow/encouraged music students to explore and implement compositions outside of the traditional reportoir that maybe mandated. Many pieces of work from composers like him, can be just as, if not more, technically challenging and as well mesmerizing and captivating as any of the pieces from the past legends of the art. And, I dare to say that given time and exposure through artists' performances, would even become timeless masterpieces of that time and beyond and worthy to be celebrated as such for generations to come. By the way, I consider this gentleman a GREAT composer. Sir, you should, at the least, put a "Thanks" tab as an option for others to be able to support you , and BRAVO!!!!!
I discovered your music a few months ago. I went to see my boyfriend's classic guitar concert and among other artists, three flute players played your piece Birds. I was totally haunted by the music so I asked the flute players for the name of the piece and artist. Since then I've been listening to your pieces. They inspire me for my writting. This piece is beyond beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with us.

My flute playing son performed this w 2 other flautists beautifully at his high school baccalaureate. His music teacher was so emotional over his choice of music & performance that she sent him off to Davidson college w her flute as a present, which was a doubly beautiful gesture as I had no money for a flute for him after the kids hand back their HS loaned flutes.
On my last week of high school, the day before my last ever group flute lesson, I decided to purchase this piece. I had listened to this piece countless times that year, and had always dreamed of getting to play it. The following day, I asked my flute teacher if we could play this, and she agreed. So my pianist friend, the two other flautists in the lesson, and I, had a blast playing this piece! We all loved how emotive it was, and the amazing thing was that two other music teachers were drawn to the sound of us playing this piece, and came over to have a listen, both of them also amazed by how great the composition sounded! Thank you for doing such an excellent job with composing Twilight. Two years have passed, and I still continue to listen to this piece of music very often!

Phenomenal composition, consistent with all of your compositions. If it isn't insensitive to say, have you ever tried composing something with bassoon, oboe, or euphonium in it? If you have no desire to, I completely understand, and I highly anticipate your next composition regardless. The flute and piano pieces you compose are beautiful enough for me regardless.
Yes, definitely, great question. I'm slowly expanding the instrumentation. I'm working in various directions, like other woodwinds you mentioned and eventually some brass. I wrote some pieces for marimba and flute but haven't had a chance to record those yet. Your comment reminds me to keep exploring so thank you for that and thank you for the kind words.

I improvise a lot on the piano and it often takes me a long while until I feel a certain improvised idea could be worth expanding into a full composition. Glad you think it’s a beautiful melody, thank you.
Adrian McGrady Yes definitely the alto since the range would be ok. Might actually be nice, good call! It’s possible for bass flute if you really want to, it’s still just doable in the upper range. (Of course as you know parts need to be transposed.)

Maybe try Celtic Forest, which is similar instrumentation as Twilight and it’s shorter than Birds.
