too many people edit to get famous and not enough edit because they enjoy the hobby. I personally don't care for velocity editors because 9/10 their entire account is just a whole trend, they dont care about the characters they're editing, they dont care about the composition, or the story or the music. They just care about likes.
as a velo editor, i take the time to find the right audio and the right scenes not most of us care about the likes, i genuinely do it because i enjoy it
Thisss! There have been times when I got too caught up in the likes but I actually found that edits I take the most time or and really have connection do way better!
I definitely see both sides! I started off with posting Girl Meets World on TikTok since at the time it was my comfort show. And I was lucky enough to sort of get known for those edits and grow my account. From there, I’ve been able to get a good following with my other edits too.
However on Instagram I never had any luck with transition edits. A few of them occasionally got some attraction, but never anything viral.
I think it’s completely natural to want interactions and such, however, if it’s the only thing driving you to post then I’d say that person is only doing it for ‘fame’.
But attraction motivating you and wanting more of it, is totally fine, in my opinion! ♡

@@filmsbytati There's nothing wrong with enjoying when people see your stuff, but I'm talking abt the people who all use the exact same audios, the exact same style, and even editing the exact same thing. Not in a fandom sense but editing it because it's popular (Like fight club randomly trending over 20 years after its release, or people editing Evelyn from Baldur's Gate when she's not even a real character) like these accounts are carbon copies of each other. I feel like there's a difference between "Velocity Editor" and "Editor who does velocity" atp yknow?

Editing has really became such a controversial topic! I truly believe the main “beef” between transition editors and velocity editors are that velocity editors have became more mainstream when most time transitions work longer and harder. Which there is many truth to that and it can be a bit disheartening! But we all as creators and artists would love our own creations to succeed at the biggest level we can get it to. I’ve been an editor for 4 years and I started in the community’s “golden era” and I still haven’t blown up. I’m a transition editor btw who occasionally edits velocity !!!
I do believe that as creators we need to understand the fact that we need to follow our heart and what we love making as artists rather than focusing on views! Tbh I rather make a transition edit with a lot of details because that’s what I love doing so much! It’s about the love you put in the work ! Not the time or quality! Edits shouldn’t be “quality over quantity” ….
So well said! I started out as a transition editor and now I honestly edit more velocity. It's just what I enjoy now, but I'll still do transition edits from time to time. At the end of the day ediitng is just about creativity and doing what you love ♡
yes it can surely. to all small editors😉,don"t spend time over editing.just take it simple and easy.
i personally enjoy watching like velocity edits more because it makes a person look hot or badass, but i am amazed by the talent those transition editors have. But most people who watch edits aren't editors and probably won't like a video because they think the editor is talented, they just wanna watch edits of their idols (this is what i think)

I totally would, but I’ve never had that experience yet so I wouldn’t know what advice to give :(
i have some tips around it, use the app wink to upscale quality sometimes they do it if your videos is a little blurry, and don’t add too big of watermarks

I flop every time but when I used the end of beginnings song I passed form 20-50 likes to around 600-800 likes

You could potentially be shadow banned or that’s just your normal number your account is sitting at when your edits don’t go viral or something ♡

heyy tati, could you maybe just post (or tell me) a quick tutorial on how you post your 1 min edits? when i go to post mine with a no copyright song it makes the format wider and makes the dimension of the edit look bad. also do you post ur 1 min edits and short edits through your phone or laptop?
Hi! I don’t really do anything special for my one minute edits. I’ve never experienced TikTok changing my formats either :(
I mainly just do 1080x1080 and airdrop it from my laptop to my phone. Then I post it from my phone ♡
2.6m is .. a lot. for me most of my highly viewed vids are high effort, my most viewed took no time tho (btw my definition of a flop is way way below yours)

@@notmulticxpv I honestly just look up non copyright music on RUclips. Typically Nintendo music is copyright free but always double check :)
