I'm going to get the Miniart kit now that I've finished my last Tamiya P47 on the shelf...
The Tamiya is one of my all time favorites, simple but near perfect & inexpensive😊

In watching some Tamiya P-47 build videos, it looks like MiniArt used the Tamiya parts breakdown in many areas. There are lots of similarities. However, the build is far more involved on the MiniArt P-47, and the fit isn't as trouble-free as the Tamiya. However, the detail is very nice. Cheers!

Started my D today, it's only for a group display so not worried about the engine as much but immediately replaced the seat with a left over tamiya one and some eduard belts. The kit goes together very quickly.

I just dug out my P-47N and it came with two resin sets, a True Details Cockpit detail set and a Vector Corrected propeller set. Examining the prop blades does show quite a difference in blade chord at mid point. I will now look for an engine that looks better. The Fast Fix engine you reviewed recently will be considered. The only issue is the postage from the States to here in the Far East. It does hurt.

@aidi58 I understand that. Shipping can be pricey these days. Cheers!

Hello Jon, excellent video, I can speak honestly about this kit, it is very good, I bought it in 1995, I had it for various reasons, unassembled, until two years ago when I did it, just as you have shown it, it is a kit. arrive and assemble, almost nothing to fix, everything fits perfectly, I had to paint the instrument panel, I must say that the Miniart decals are excellent, when I saw it it seemed to me that it was a photo-etched panel, in general its details are excellent for the age of that mold, the only problem I had is that the decals aged poorly and I lost almost all of them, they fell apart despite having treated them with the Microscale decal film, I had to make an alternative version with remains from other kits, The other detail is the auxiliary fuel tank, it rubs against the ground and tends to come off, I don't know if it is due to proportion or poor design, unlike the flat tank of the European versions, greetings Jon and congratulations for the great work you are doing. obtaining in the kits, greetings friend.

Thanks, Francisco! I appreciate the warning about the fuel tank and decals. I appreciate the feedback on this channel as well 🙂. Cheers!

Hey Jon, at first glance it looked like you were building a 1/32 scale P-47, the P- 47 was jusT a huge fighter. I saw a comparison to the P-51 a while back and the P- 51 could actually fit inside the P- 47. I haven't built an Academy kit but definitely want to give one a try due to the excellent surface detailing they have. Can't wait to see how this builds out. Cheers, Bob

Thanks, Bob! The P-47 is huge for a WWII fighter. So far, this kit has been a trouble-free build, and I think the rest will go just fine. Cheers!

Hi Jon. I agree with you about the general look of the Mini Art P-47D exterior surfaces. About the P&W R-2800 engine "late version", I may suggest the resin set by Vector (#48-004). In addition, on my Academy 1/48 P-47N at the moment in the stash, I can anticipate that I will fit the square-backet pilot seat provided by Ultracast (#48202 with harness, or #48201 w/o harness). Round-backed pilot seat is adequate for P-47B thru P-47M. Nice video. 😊

Thanks, Giovanni! I'll definitely look into the Vector set. And thanks for the feedback on the seat as well. Cheers!

I have one of this when I was a kid in the 90's they are selling very cheap at my local hobby store (half price of Hasegawa p47d)

Hey Jon. That looks like a really nice kit for a quick build. Especially if one isn’t too concerned about the engine. What was it about the cockpit seat on this..lack of detail? So far I would say of the comparisons it’s looking like they each have a list of good and bad but I gotta say you’re nailing it on these vids. Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback! The seat in the Academy P-47N was very basic with minimal detail, and I had a resin seat on hand. I've heard that the P-47N had a square-backed seat, so the one I used may not be 100% accurate. I'm looking for a replacement engine currently. Cheers!
