@AquaStudent ahh never realised they were so small, ive just checked on google and it says females are just over 1cm, might b ok as my sparkling gouramis are tiny aswell and they do ok
how are the badis doing together? im looking at getting some of these after speaking to Grant from FTTV but he was saying the males can get a bit aggressive, have you had and trouble with you having so many males and only one female?
When I kept the white worms I had them in a plastic container with dirt. The only maintenance was keeping it relatively clean, the dirt moist, and the temperature not scalding and not freezing (I think they preferred cooler temps so I kept it dark too).
@mbezik I would be careful with the dwarf cichlids. Scarlet badis can get easily intimidated and will probably become food for any mouth it can fit in.
@AquaStudent yeah theyd be in with my dwarf cichlids and tetras, i was just thinking of one pair, its pretty harmonious in my tank apart from my fire red apistos who are always real grumpy towards the rest of the inhabitants but im gonna try and breed them in their own tank..
@AquaStudent they would be going in my 50g heavily planted tank from my channel vids, im getting a new tank this week so ill be moving the fire reds into this which should make a bit more room for some badis
@mbezik oh wow a 50g. I'm at work right now and can't watch any vids but I will check it out when I get home this evening. A 50g will have a lot of room for them. Are you planning on just keeping Scarlet Badis or what other fish are you planning to keep? Have you seen these guys in person before? They are EXTREMELY small.
I got the scarlet badis through Wetspot Tropical Fish (google them to find the link). Also, a good potential source is Invertebrates by Ms. Jinkzd although she has been having trouble ordering them recently. It will be a challenge to obtain 8 females because they are rare but they will usually try to give you one out of a half dozen ordered fish if they have any in stock
they are a stubborn fish. I fed mine Ken's Golden Pearls and for a short time I had a white worm culture. The live foods really worked the best. They gobbled those up immediately although I wasn't good on keeping my culture maintained. If you can get your hands on some live food cultures that's your best bet.
@mbezik Well then you could probably use some scarlet badis. Damn. I kinda want a sparkling gourami for my 10g now. I've seen pictures of them but i always assumed they were 2-3 inches. That's awesome.
@AquaStudent ill do a video of mine for you, mine are soopa tiny and ive had them for a year now, smaller than my smallest cardinal tetras, ive got 2 pairs of them
@mbezik I actually split up that group. I put one male and the female into my 5 gallon tank. The remaining 3 or 4 males (I have only seen 3 at a time...they are very difficult to spot) seem to be doing well in the 10 gallon. There's enough space for all of them to have their own territory. What size tank were you going to be putting them in? Is it planted or heavily decorated?
nice dude! hopefully they wont eat the shrimplets. they are very good at hunting
@AquaStudent ahh never realised they were so small, ive just checked on google and it says females are just over 1cm, might b ok as my sparkling gouramis are tiny aswell and they do ok
good for you man glad you got them safely!
@AquaStudent yeah sparkling gouramis are tiny, less than an inch

they will eat the very small baby shrimp but the full grown RCS are actually larger than the scarlet badis.

Hello after 9 year, Are you alive?
@AquaStudent yeah theyd be in with my dwarf cichlids and tetras, i was just thinking of one pair, its pretty harmonious in my tank apart from my fire red apistos who are always real grumpy towards the rest of the inhabitants but im gonna try and breed them in their own tank..
@MrAqua013 thanks! It's finally coming together!
@drgreenG420 yessir! I'm very happy about it too. They look better than i could have hoped for.
@swormaster12 I believe you are mistaken. These fish are definitely Scarlet Badis. You can definitely tell now that they have colored up.
brilliant
@Churchhealzimpact thanks thanks! :) These guys are amazing!
@mbezik That sounds great. I can't wait to see. Sparkling gouramis are pretty sweet
The shrimp were small but not small enough to be completely wiped out. I still have some of them actually.
@AquaStudent they would be going in my 50g heavily planted tank from my channel vids, im getting a new tank this week so ill be moving the fire reds into this which should make a bit more room for some badis
@MrTerence1992 thanks man :)

@mbezik when full grown males are around .8" or 2cms about. Females are (I believe) slightly smaller. Is your Gourami less than an inch/2.4cms?
@AquaJtang yes hopefully :) although a few here and there wouldn't be the end of the world. These guys have such personality!

how do you culture those live foods
where did you get these scarlet badis?? i would love some female scarlet badis. i want about 8 females if possible.
those small shrimp wont survive your tank...your fish will finish them in days
