You can't go wrong with this open and either this is actually pretty good you're right is one of my favorite ones to I also thought Nickelodeon's 2012 Turtles were actually pretty good to tell us too bad a lot of inconsistency but it had its moments and it was fun so I'm glad there's a fan out that just as much as I wasn't the original series and some of the newest stuff thank you
As some one who was born in 2003 i love tmnt and it been my favorite show for a longtime and i also used to watch adventure time and my favorite character is marceline and bubblegum and i love transformers and comics.
I'm absolutely biased, but this series was my bread and butter AND jam when I was a young teen, and this intro is forever seared into my brain. For me, this one is the be-all-end-all! I agree that the later seasons got . . . disappointing in places, especially where we break into the Flash Forward and Back to the Sewer portions of the show, at least for me, but I'm sure someone out there has a soft spot for them, too.
This intro has so many awesome small touches. My favourite is the Raph/Akira red bike slide at the start - it’s also in the “Meet Casey Jones episode - it’s the perfect nod to one of the most iconic moments in animation. I have a soft spot for that red bike...
Im still hurt that when it comes to the reunion episodes that they dont bring back the 2003 turtles at least as a cameo, these turtles have been getting a bit of love from Nick so i have some hope
My favorite intro is, despite what my account name might tell you, the 2012 intro, as well as the series. 2012 combined the comedy of 1987, the action of 2003, plus it's own brand of unparalled heart and quirkiness. It also had the advantage of CGI animation, which while in older attempts, looked... unpleasant, actually was good, and allowed for some of the smoothest and coolest fight scenes in TMNT. (There are a lot of epic fight scenes in the franchise from various incarnations, I'm not fanboying.) But that's just my opinion.
The 03 show before Fast Forward is my favorite, only because it was before the era where action cartoons had that dudebro pop rock sound that makes modern cartoons feel gerneric and designed like they were being made for strictly kids, rather than a more neutral or mature tone without trying to be edgy with it. The 03 opening does the best to make it sound fun but no too child-like. It sounded mature but not edgy.
I'm old enough to have seen the classic and the 2003 version the classic has the best theme but the 2003 version has the best animation...but I still love the theme no matter what...😂✌️
I always thought the countoff after the I love being a turtle part was pretty funny because it just shows each turtles face getting even wilder than the last one.
While the 2003 series is my favorite overall and I like all of the theme songs it had (even fast forward and back to the sewer), I gotta say that I personally like the 2012 theme song a lot more. Idk, I might be biased because that intro is what mainly got me into Tmnt in the first place, but that's just my opinion
Well, I like both 2003 and 2012 openings. Not to mention I like both shows. But for me personally the first place will go to 2003 series (not only because of nostalgia, but also because of mixing drama and comedy, and being more faithful to it’s original source (Mirage Comics)). In the second place I will put 2012 show, because it is also mixing drama and comedy, but also uniting the moments from both 2003 and 1987 shows.

This into made me consider how much of a cool comic book aesthetic the 03 show started with and this opening made saying the name "Shredder" sound cooler than normal.
The 1987 intro is still the best. From the animation in the intro to the cool effects such as the man hole cover blasting off as you see baby Turtles fly into the air (which a few seconds afterwards shows the shaddowy teen Turtles) to the catchy theme. It's only disadvantage is that they later changed the theme to a darker toned look and therefore changed the theme. This is probably my second favorite then then the Nickelodeon version. But the 1987 theme always holds a place with me and is the first so it gets the respect. This series is #2 as far as all time favorite and intro
I one thing I would want as a "nerd" or "geek" is Nickelodeon (even though Nickelodeon doesn't own every single season of the show) to give us a complete DVD/Blue ray complete series collection. I don't care if anyone loves the 87 cartoon more or 2012 cartoon more I just want the turtles that introduced me to the franchise (other than the live action movies) given the royal treatment for once.
Of the 2003 series not really sure which intro is better in my opinion, they are all pretty good but I have to admit I think it is pretty cool when they add the cool new vehicles like the helcopter and the new Battleshell and when they add the April, Casey, and Splinter kicking some serious butt and let's not forget the interduction of each one of the Ninja Turtles totally cool!

I always thought people were tripping that the original 1987 version was the better opening, personally in my opinion this beats all of them. Even Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was catchy but nothing like this opening, this opening theme will always be my favorite one; 2012 was good also but still 2003 will always be top pick! By the way love your break down of each clip of the opening I agree on all accounts! I especially loved the part of I LOVE BEING A TURTLE, I felt they really captured what it meant to be shinobi and the art of bushido! when I had the DVDs I was always playing that part over and over before starting the actual show! This series as a whole will always be in top pick out of the many variations and reboots of the series. I felt this captured the 1990s original movie and cartoon amazingly well. I definitely agree with some of the critiques about the variations of the openings, I liked how it kept you up to date on the series and let you know where you were in the story. I didn’t like the more cartoony goofy look of the faces and heads of the turtles, or the CG look of the vehicles it came off stiff in my opinion and didn’t go well with the rest of the animated environment. I did like the little personal touches to each turtle as they described them though but I loved how Mikey said “WE SHREDDED SHREDDER” and said it with swag and confidence. I even liked it when Karai took the place for a while but it wasn’t as good as the first 2 variations. Overall I really liked this opening and will always be my top pick above all out of any re-imagined/reboot or original opening, no other opening has topped this in my opinion.

The 2003 series is my favourite version of the TMNT outside the comics. It is an almost straight adaptation of the Mirage comics, it feels like an anime kinda like the Mirage comic feels like a manga and I love that every episode begins with a narration. Fast Forward, Back to the Sewer and Turtles Forever sucked though.

My strong hate for 4kids kind of hurts my liking for the 2003 intro so it’s not exactly my most favorite but it’s definitely not my least favorite either it’s just my 3rd favorite
its great but i think of turtles intro 87 and and 2012 and even rise as the sort of normal turtles intro this one is a bit its own thing but its still great i have found it stuck in my head a lot but i think a real turtles intro needs there names said meny times over there is some thing about those four word being said over and over again that just works

Yes undoubtedly. As they continued to alter it in later seasons it got EVEN better. Fast Forward and Back to the Sewers also had great intros.

I think the TMNT 2003 Opening intro is certainly the best TMNT intro.
It's a crime against humanity that this theme song isn't on Spotify while the rest are.

The 2003 series theme is an underrated banger and the 2003 series is one of my all-time favorite shows.
I would've liked if in season 5 for the "watch out for shredder" bit we had the demon shredder on top of the building.
