Yes, he writes and produces all his and Bigbangs music, he's almost always the first or second one credited. And just a note, if it feels like the lyrics doesn't make sense it's because GD likes to use word play a lot in his lyrics so they don't translate into English that well. Like in bulls**t, when the lyrics say "What is this dog?" he's actually saing "What's this bulls**t?". Gaesuri is bulls**t and gae is dog that's why it's very heavy on the dog theme. The translations are very literal. He's the first one who started writing and producing, he broke the mold the labels had made. It was an actual scandal when it was revealed it was he who wrote the songs back in the day. LOL.
I guess u feel similar cus he's the blueprint n most kpop songs copied him. He was dealing with depression for kjy ep the first few songs. Pls watch his documentary and live performances.
lydia paek was a former yg talent. she was in Quest Crew, a dance crew from LA which won America's Best Dance Crew in its third season. she wrote songs for 2ne1 and her own songs too.

Since I don’t see anyone answering this question.. Lydia Paek is a Korean American who was a former YG producer and mentor/dance trainer who can sing and has done covers and collabs with BIG BANG members and other former/current
YG artists. I don’t know if she still works with YG cuz has been living and working California. She got married and has kids now..living her life. But she still keeps in contact with former and current YG artists, she always likes/comments on their ig posts and they do the same for her too. She will go their concerts when they go to LA…so she’s still very supportive which is really cute.
That Bullsh*t lyric video is exactly what I meant by bad translations. Not only was it one of those badly translated lyric videos that was rushed to come out as soon as the album was released, but this song in particular has a lot of wordplay that only makes sense in Korean and have to be explained (which some other lyric videos manage to do decent at). I should've added it in my list, but someone recommended the MV so I thought you'd watch that one instead.
Anyway, Divina Commedia is my favorite GD song. Maybe it's because I've been following him for awhile. I know just how tough it was for him and how much he had to suffer because of his fame and success (that he still goes through to this day). Life for celebrities definitely can feel like the Truman Show with how much eyes are on you at all times.
I was going to say. The lyric video she chose had terrible translations... Unfortunate since the actual lyrics to "Bullsh*t" are genius.

Yes, he wrote his songs and also Bigbang's songs. He is the main producer for the group too. He used a lot of Korean wordplay in his songs which is difficult to translate into English.

Jennie hadn't debuted yet during Black! I remember because I listened when it came out and had no clue who Jennie was, but I also followed BP since they debuted, and it took me a while to make the connection haha

GD’s 4 solos were in 2009, 2012, 2013, and 2017. He was 21, 24, 25, and 29 years old. Although each solo album contains different styles, the overall style of these 3 stages is also very different. His music is becoming more and more mature. 2009 was very passionate and youthful, . 2012 was mainly hip-hop, , and 2013 was the most individual and flamboyant solo, . But I personally prefer 2017, , which is not about the superstar G-dragon on the stage, but the inner world of the real person Kwon Jiyong off the stage. I recommend watching the 2017 documentary, which will give you a better understanding of this solo album and real kwon jiyong.It is so real and pure. Although fragile, it is also powerful. It is a pure work of art.❤❤

Idk if you reacted to it during CL's run. But GD ft. Teddy & CL - The Leaders is a classic!!! The only performance of it with all three of them is at GD's Shine A Light concert in 2009. GD&CL performed it after but Teddy doesn't show up anymore cause he prefers being behind the scenes.
Ride Or Die performance with CL is also a good one.

GD got his first credits for writing lyrics at 13 . I hope you watch a live of young GD performing Hip Hop Gentleman with all the YG rappers 😊. He is the first idol to be accepted as a full member of the asociation of writers and music producers in Korea . For the funny videos i do hope someone recommended the parody after Secred Garden drama 😅. Obsession and She's gone have a great live during his OOAK tour 2013 solo concert in Seoul .
