Outstanding Performance: Interpretation, creativity and musical ideas. I understand that this is one of the most difficult violin piano works ever written, therefore very rarely played. Mr. Zenaty and Ms. Shapiro demonstrate heroic musicianship by taking on a work from a composer, Shumann whose musical ideas were "erratic," as he experience mental illness. I hear in this interpretation, a celebration of life even in the midst of tragic despair.
