Would love to see you working on a Lambretta engine. I’ve learnt so much about Vespas from your to the point I would get another and be confident enough to to work on it myself😊🛵
After having watched (and enjoyed) lots of Robot’s videos I’ve concluded that Vespas are out of my league: expensive to buy, expensive to service, and very expensive to repair.
@@VespaMotorsport i ve seen many videos of you,you are the best, can you tell me something ,i have a bv200cc i don t have any problems with cranshaft except one,the position that the inner plate of variator is in the transmition sits ,moves around almost freely because the splines of the crank i think are 50 percent gone,is there any way to fix that in any way or do something ?other than that the scooter is behaving normally on road, has acceleration, but i hear noise from rollers when at stop.
Hi Robot I changes out the old oil & oil filter and air filter on 2007 PIAGGIO MP3 250IE because it been sitting in the Garage for a long time since 2018 & first owner got it started up because I purchased it & pick it up two states up north.
Does anyone market a dipstick that is a light grey of white? I have a hard time reading the black dipstick that is on my 300 HPE. Combined with the low oil capacity and a hard to read dipstick, I am always in fear of running low on oil.
funny thing is even u run with enough oil or too much (seals will blow) the bearing can fail.u can check the crankshaft bearings if there is a little free play on variator or ignition side need to replace it.engine oils protect the engine but if u let it stall for long time u better drain the oil.oil is like fuel it gets old turn into acid start to eat bymeans corrosion the bearings.
Alright m8 so my oil run out and it started doing the same noise . So rollers were changed and oil . The rattling is still there but not as bad . Do you think it could be the same problem
I had the same knocking sound on my Zuma 125 the washer on the variator was installed in the wrong direction after a new belt. My fault scooter ran for 42××× miles with no problems after turning around the squash washer
I bought a new 2020 Piaggio Typhoon 125. I live in Northern California. Can you tell me where I can buy oil filters, air filters and a shop manual. I have googled the web and everything seems to be in Italian. The owners manual is virtually worthless. Can you help?????
Please, mention that it's NECESSARY to tighten all variator components in place if you disengage the transmission. Oil pump gear which sits on crankshaft has no key to lock in place, thus if you run the engine without variator parts installed, there's a serious chance of oil starvation!!
I just bought a 2019 GTS 300 with a blown motor-$500. The oil had flakes in it also. Horrible rattling noise on start. Yay!
Thanks for the video Mr. Robot & Scooter West!

Fair enough!

So my bikes had a full rebuild by a shop, paid them to set it up properly, got it back rode for 5 mins an it’s running hot cutting out and squeaking

Is it normal for 250ie to have slight play on crankshaft when you pull/push it (in and out) ?, it doesn't have any circural freeplay... thanks!
Does it have a needle roller bearing or a plain bearing in the rod big end?

Exactly the reason we disconnect the transmission for this diagnosis. You're lucky!
I did test drive how it sound of the engine an did 2 mile drive! Before I check everything out and find out need a Major work on it!
How do you run the motor with no belt on ?
What was the likely cause of the engine consuming oil?
Can be a 1mm side to side play and no play up and down
Awesome 🤙!

😎👍✌️
Expensive mistake.
I wonder if the rings or something else was worn. Causing it to burn oil.
OMG was a shame!
when i remove belt cover on my 250 carb beverly , puly and crankshaft has axial gap a lot , is that normal?
