  • Join Sr. Julie Benedicta for the third week of the Advent Retreat with Daughters of St. Paul as she reflects on the word "Search."
    Reflection:
Ask the Holy Spirit to open your mind and heart to God's word. Then, slowly read Song of Solomon 3:1-4:
Upon my bed at night, I sought him whom my soul loves; I sought him but found him not; I called him, but he gave no answer. “I will rise now and go about the city, in the streets and in the squares; I will seek him whom my soul loves.”
I sought him but found him not. The sentinels found me, as they went about in the city. “Have you seen him whom my soul loves?” Scarcely had I passed them, when I found him whom my soul loves.
Where are you searching for God? How is God searching for you in this area of your life? Ask him.
    Prayer:
O come, let us adore him, Christ the Lord.
    -----------
    What are you searching for?
Two thousand years ago, God went searching for us. He greeted us in a poverty-stricken occupied city called Bethlehem. Not the romantic Bethlehem that so often colors our imaginations, but the oppressed and downtrodden Bethlehem of history. The Bethlehem that needed a Savior.
This Advent, God still searches for us. He invites us to "come to Bethlehem"-to the places in our lives occupied by sin and oppressed by weakness and fear-and receive his salvation here.
Throughout the Advent season, we'll be hosting a weekly retreat on our newsletter, a companion for your journey to Bethlehem, to help you encounter the God who saves. If you register, each Tuesday you will receive:
    - A short video reflection
    - A Scripture verse to pray with
    - Questions for prayer and reflection
    - A link to music from our Daughters of St. Paul Choir

While the Daughters of St. Paul Choir will not be holding a virtual Christmas concert this year as they prepare for live performances in Boston and Charleston, our choir members are excited to contribute to the reflections and prayerful music of this Advent retreat. We pray that God, through this Advent retreat, may grant you light and strength to come, search, journey, enter, and welcome Jesus this Christmas-especially where you least expect to find him.
    God bless you!

That was so lovely Sister! It made me feel so loved….that HE loves us and knows our hearts even if we sometimes forget this truth. Blessings to all the Daughters during this Advent. Oh come Emmanuel…he’s almost here!
