@Barbara C I miss it too, and I never even lived there. Back when I was younger, I had an aunt and uncle in Mt. Prospect, and they lived within a day's drive of our house in Michigan, so we got to see them frequently (both at their house and ours). I was an only child, so their kids, my cousins, were among the closest I had to brothers or sisters at the time. They moved down south to San Antonio shortly after 9/11; I was eight years old at the time and was crushed. I still bear scars from that period in my life--the scary things being reported in the news at that time only made matters worse. There was a while where we only got to see them once every few years. Then, my oldest cousin died after several years of heroin addiction and we got to see them more frequently. Appropriately enough for this being a Christmas themed video, the first time I saw them after he died was that Christmas--it was also the first time I had seen the whole family together in five years. It was a very bittersweet moment for both sides of the family. My uncle is a Lutheran minister, so it was comforting to be together to remember our Savior's birth and the hope that first Christmas gave us that we might someday be reunited with my cousin in heaven. As I write this comment, it is a week and a half before Christmas, and my aunt and uncle just left yesterday from a brief visit with us. They were alone this time; my cousins are now grown and working or attending college. (One of them is currently following his father's footsteps by attending seminary and is planning to marry this coming summer. Another is set to propose to his girlfriend tomorrow--I met her when they visited for Thanksgiving last year and I fully expect she will say yes.) They all seem to be doing very well, but I still miss those days of old when they lived in Chicagoland and we exchanged visits, and I think about it nearly every day. Have a merry Christmas and a happy 2018!
As I watch this just a few days before Christmas, I think of how I used to have family who lived in the Chicago suburbs (Mt. Prospect, to be exact). They lived within a day's drive of our house in Michigan, so we got to see them quite frequently. They moved down South when I was eight, but Chicago remains one of my favorite cities in the whole world. And Christmas is my favorite holiday (Thanksgiving is a close second). I'm not used to this recording of "Silver Bells," but it fits very well. Thank you very much.
That would be cool or to even relive it when i was a kid in the 70s and 80s. Not that I dont love it here now because I do! Just would be cool to go back sometimes to the older days
this is lovely.
I miss Chicago SO much... and I especially miss Christmas in Chicago! Thank you for sharing!!

Glad you enjoyed it! I made this video after being gone for 2 years and had missed the holidays in the big city. :) I still watch it every year.
Chicago is the best place on earth to be during the holidays. Or any time for that matter
