yeah, my mom just got a 2024 GT Turbo on Saturday, that would be the Premium Plus in the US. The Meridian is the Premium Plus with the offroad stuff added
I wish the pano roof opened more when sliding. My current CX-5 has the standard sunroof and I get a lot more fresh air in the cabin. Also, why doesn't Mazda utilize black headliners in the CX-50 T trims? They look so much better than beige.
No... the cx-5 is sold pretty much everywhere around the world. The cx-50 is built in America and is available only in canada and the USA. The cx-5 is built in Japan, and has been around since 2014.
Mazda bills the cx-50 as an adventure off-roading version of the cx-5. The cx-5 is the luxury urban go around town SUV. The cx50 is mazdas attempt to get adventure seekers in owning a mazda vehicle. You'll notice the difference in height and width of the cx50 vs the cx5. The roofline is lowered so you can go camping, bring a kayak, bike or haul some stuff on top (with the available roof tray and racks). As for the cladding on the side, mazda gave it the look to be like a Subaru. Subjectional, yes, but it's there to protect from the road debris from hitting the vehicle. The cx-5 gets acoustic windows, while the cx-50 gets a hardened pillar between the front and rear doors, to support the weight on top. You can test drive to see which one suits your needs.
I think if i needed to upgrade from my 3 hatch id probably go cx-50.
In Canada, we don’t have to choose. The Meridian is in addition to the top trim. 🤓
What?! 🤯😁

That meridian is a huge waste of money.
Ugly cars, boring colors. Over use of plastic cladding is nauseous. Mazda sells more CX-5's than CX-50. Why? Could it be appearance ?

I certainly disagree with your opinion on that one
