How to Make a Faraday Cage in 5 Minutes Using 3 Items & How to Test It. THIS IS AN UPDATED VIDEO.

- In this video, I show you how to make a faraday cage in 5 minutes with just 3 items. I believe a smaller can is best because it is light, portable, and easier to store. However, a larger can would be good for things like a solar generator.
PLEASE NOTE: A cellphone has a much stronger signal. If you put your cellphone in without foil and you can't call it or it goes to your voicemail, then your cage is probably protecting WAY above the minimum 50dB shielding. It took a bit of work, but I was able to seal my cage well enough to even block that cellphone signal. Don't expect that to happen, though.
The source for my information is from Dr. Bradley's RUclips channel. See his link below. I also used his book called “Disaster Preparedness for EMP Attack and Solar Storms” amzn.to/4a59xNX
NOTE: If the signal still gets through, you may have to create a better seal of the opening rim of the can. I had a can that had a looser lid. It was a larger can. When I put the tape around the opening, the signal went away. You can also go to disasterprepar... to buy a special seal for this.

that little tote in there is brilliant! fyi Behrens makes a 10 gallon with a locking lid, This might solve your lid not making a good connection problem. Also sealing the lid with a complete strip of the aluminum tape should do it, although inconvenient for accessing your gear.
My small can lid seals really well... very tight without adding foil to the opening rim. My larger can lid does not seal as well. I had to add tape to the rim. In that case, I didnt have to tape the lid down.
Thanks for the update, I did get notified for this video !
Thanks for watching!
I did one with a big can cause it was cheaper then the small one.
I have a larger one as well for my portable power stations.
Thank you. Have two 6 gallon metal cans ready and I am now building a 33 gallon metal can too.
That is awesome!

Today; my sister asked me to build one for her. Instead I told her I would get the material and show her how.
I bought the biggest Anker solar generator. How would you suggest protecting it? I've looked online and can't seem to find a Faraday large enough
I have a video showing how to make one for portable power station. If that doesn't help, try using a ferret.
Why the rubber insert? Thank you for the helpful video!
I guess you missed it in the video... To keep metal items from touching the can.
@@LoneStarPreppingdo you think cardboard would work as well? If so, I’ve got access to a ton of that!
@@ghostdog2041 It should help insulate metal items from touching the can but has nothing to do with protecting from an emp.
I haven’t gotten any and I mean any notifications that you’re uploading videos. I do have the bell for all clicked
I wonder why? I asked my wife if she got a notice and she did. Make sure to update your YT app.
@@LoneStarPrepping I didn't get one either
Be sure to update your app. May work. Ill be posting a video within a week or so.
@@LoneStarPrepping many prepper channels are having this happen.
@@Sparkysings2 I'm not surprised...
Thanks I learn from you every time I watch you. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you for taking the time to watch!
Good video, thanks for sharing YAH bless !
Much appreciated
Thanks for the update 🙂
No problem 👍
THKS DID THE BIG CAN
I have a larger can as well for my portable power stations.
I bought the tool box and tape that you recommended. I covered all of the areas etc but it does not work. Pls help!
How did you test it and is the lid sealing metal to metal or tape? Did you seal where the handle AND bracket attaches?
@@LoneStarPrepping I tested it with phone. I used the aluminum tape and the exact tool box that you recommended in the video from abt 2 years ago. I believe you used a radio to test yours. I've used two roles of that tape over all of the potential points of entry.
That was your mistake. Dont use your phone. It has WAY too strong of a signal. Use an AM radio.
Is there a step by step video I can use for reference? It's the exact same toolbox and tape. I've combed it over many times. So much time and money. I'm about to put it on the curb.
@LoneStarPrepping I'll try this next and report back. Thanks! I love your channel.
People also use Dorito bags. I don't know if that really works
I never tested one. I have my doubts, though.
